Called tracfone corp office in Miami Fla, because those IDIOTS OVER SEAS, told me they couldnt read my info[ food stamp card ] when i had to verify, Made me send copies of that card in 4 /5 times. I asked people before i sent copies in, if they could read my name on the fax hat i sent, EVERYONE said "yes" it was VERY easy to read. but those dip wads in the Philippines said they couldnt read my name. So far im 14 days without a phone until i get re-verified. BUT I STILL HAD 2 MORE months to go before i was suppose to be re=verified..Lady at the office [ ANOTHER LOSER] Said SEND ME A COPY of your food stamp card AGAIN,,Gee, she could have gotten any of the 5 copies i sent earlier.
Short story, took ANOTHER 5 DAYS went by. When those losers over seas finally got the ok to turn my phone back on, they STOLE,, STOLE,,800 MINUTES FROM ME, I had over 1,400 minutes on my phone , they deleted all of them and gave me 550 minutes because they said " minutes dont carry over month to month,which they DONT,, BUT THEY DO if you PAY to have minutes added , which i did by buying the tracfone cards. Sad when people in the so called corp offices are just as STUPID as the csr's overseas.They did this to me MANY TIMES,stealing people minutes that we paid for. They automatically delete all minutes, THAN add the minutes the GOVT gives you, shame you have CROOKS like these people and NOTHING,, NOTHING is done about it,,
*Tracfone does not provide quick service. It took an hour after 25 hours to activate and transfer my number from one tracfone to another tracfone. And while i waited on hold for over an hour they refused to give me the prepaid minutes back.*
Dont use tracfone.
After being a Tracfone customer for years. I have over the past year had attepted to make a call, this has happened to two different phones different numbers, and phone states to add time. Checking the Tracfone app shows there is plenty of time left, today phone had 273 minutes showing on phone rarely used, until you contact Tracfone, and they state you don't have minutes. Looking this up again and wham no minutes left. this also happened some months ago with another Tracfone same situation which I just had to add time which also changes you date to refill.
Note: I've talked to many people at Tracfone, and used their chat option, so at this point this websit may be my last best hope for recovering what I had. These two lettres to Tracfone best describe the situation:
5/25/18, sent at night after largely being penalized by Tracfone for writing to them the 2nd letter listed below:
Hi, my phone had 7.9GB of data. On 5/~18/18 it was accidentally changed to 4 (it showed up as 3.91) to try and restore minutes and texts to my phone (before that date the data and texts were changed to 15 each because I was compensated 15 minutes [not at my request] when they had me on the phone reprogramming my old phone to work while I wait on my current phone getting a warranty replacement). Rather than the 15 adding to what I had, it replaced what I had (thousands of minutes and data). On 5/~19/18 I talked to Maria BAQ750 and Mary 516322. I believe it was Mary who added the 4,000 minute and texts (neither or which were as many minutes or texts as were on my phone originally). She said this would add 4GB of data, totaling 11.59GB. When she did this, she saw the 7.9G didn't go to 11.59, but went to 4! She saw this and said so over the phone and she said she'd get it corrected.
On 5/21/18 I talked to Karen (ID 535021) about this and she got the data corrected to 11.78GB (close enough to the 11.59 or 11.9 as I saw it amount). However on 5/25/18 when Ana changed my minutes and texts, it also changed my data to 5.164GB. :`( My texts and data are still likely incorrect, given the latest verification showed I had 5829 texts and 4067 minutes when it was 100% certain (per me and Mary seeing it simultaneously and the conversation, which I'm told was likely/maybe recorded) my phone showed 7.9/7.59GB (Mary said some data was used, accounting for the small difference). Hence, some error is occurring in the system showing less of various info. on my accounts. One representative said the transaction history goes back only so far; this may account for why only some of my history appears to be showing up, resulting in understated total minutes/data/texts.
Please update my data to the 11.78 it was last at when I talked to Karen 535021, and please either verify w/her by asking her about it or listening to the recorded call. It is possible she notated the account, so you can check that, too. Either way, the info. is there and available for you to verify.

P.S. Also, please make it so I can check my minutes online. Tracfone made it so I couldn't check my transaction history "due to inconsistencies in the account", not due to password or other errors on my end, either by using my phone or logging in. Please fix this soon, as it has now been over a week w/o the ability to check it.
Tracfone deactivated my phone out of nowhere for no known reason. After going through many layers of customer service I was told that the only solution was to buy a new phone and new minutes. I was told I lost all my minutes and my phone was now useless.
I am a senior trying to sign up for lifeline with safelink who referred me to tracfone for compatibility SIM card and paid service needed to be activated to start the free lifeline service. As instructed, I bought a TRACFONE SIM card, and three TRACFONE service in the last 6 days. All of which could not be activated.
The first $15 service card I purchased from CVS was a bad card that had already been used according to TRACFONE chat person. CVS SAID NO REFUND. The second service for $15 I bought online after Tracfone chat rep said it would activate automatically…it did not. The third one was at Target and still no one at Tracfone would assist with activation and they kept hanging up on us upon discovering I needed activation service.
I can see my number appears to be in a limbo state with tracfone in the online account I started. The Tracfone chat person said they can see it there and the SIM card I got online, But they cannot see the service plan so I need to buy a third plan or chat will end! Why can no one see it? Because it expired on the same day I purchased it. I have the receipt it says service being on 7/1/2023 and end date on 8/30/2023 but…August 30 was the day I purchased it! When I ask TRACFONE to look into it they transferred me and then when the new chat person finds out I am not buying they hang up again.
After Several days and hours of chat and getting hung up on when they realize I am not going to buy a third service from them. (See photos of chat responses). I cannot reach anyone that will offer to do anything for me to activate the service. As soon as the chat people find out I am trying to activate they transfer me to some one who tried to sell me a third plan…over and over and over again.
I went to a TARGET store who called TRACFONE…He sold me ANOTHER (3rd) service plan with TRACFONE and spent an hour trying to get it activated…same thing they transferred and hung up on the guy. The TARGET GUY sold me a $100.00 phone with 30 day service SO I CAN ACTUALLY CALL SOMEONE to try and deal with this problem as the TRACFONE chat person disconnected my live line with Total wireless to transfer my (port it) number.
In addition there were 4 Target employees all trying to help people activate the service simultaneously. I am calling corporate TARGET CEO today to tell them to stop carrying TRACFONE due to the drain on their staff at stores. I have saved copies of all communications with chat to show proof to my attorney who will start a class action for this outrageous TRACFONE co.
I SUSPECT their employees may be rewarded for sales and none of them want to do service.
DO NOT USE Tracfone!!! My plan was set to expire in November 2023 and currently had 975 min, 822 texts, and 1.01 gigs of data remaining. Knowing I wouldn't use all of that, as this is a back up phone for work. I purchased a 1 year extension on May 20 carrying me until Nov of 2024. Out of the blue the other day I get an email stating my service was set to expire on July 29 unless I renew. (Where did that date come from??) So, I called Tracfone yesterday the 29th and spoke to Victor (Employee#518484) who assured me he had set my phone to reflect the correct expiration date 11/20/24 at midnight. I wake up this morning and you guessed it NO PHONE!!! Tracfone just stole $80.00 from me. The employees lie just to get you off the phone.
UPDATE 08/01/23: I spent 3 hrs on 07/30/23 speaking with Jenny, Mika, Aira, Jolo, & Jessica and 2 reps which I didn't catch their name. Each time having to explain the whole story over and over! They then transferred me to refunds where I was disconnected 4 times before anyone answered, spoke with Michelle twice (disconnected twice) , and Melanie who found the 1 year extension I purchased and was in the process of refunding when I was disconnected again! I can write off 1 disconnection, possibly even 2 but not 7! I have to believe this is a tactic your reps are told to use. As, I left a callback number and no one has called back!
UPDATE08/02/23:
I spoke to TracFone regarding BBB complaint ID **** on 08/02/23. The person I spoke to said their system updated and couldn't confirm any information regarding my account. Or why it was turned off on a non-applicable date of 07/29/23.When confronted with the fact that my phone had been on for two yrs and I wanted to know how since I hadn't purchased minutes (Because I've purchased only extensions that they claim not to be able to see) His only answer to every question I had was the system updated and does everything and he couldn't see it! Absolutely pathetic company! I am not satisfied ! DO NOT USE TRACFONE!!!
Customer service the worse ever. They have none and Rep are poor at best.
Tried to unlock I phone from them purchased 2019 it took 4 days and 5 hrs of my time. they cannot followup on anything.
Then wanted to port my number to new carrier they had the new comapany and myself on the phone for 2 hrs. nothing was done on there part. Then later the same day Tracfone turned off my service in the middle of a call. Cannot send/receive calls. I get a computer message to port my number to them and to wait on the phone they shut down for 30-90 mins are they stupid.
NOTE they where paid in advance with my account having a money balance. I needed a new I phone 2020 from cricket that was $29.00 for phone on plan for $60 month after after 1 week I would have been able to changed the plan to $30 a month period for ever. Well had to get new number and pay $199 for the phone being Trackfhone locked me out and took my money.
They are thevies there support is out of USA maybe India not sure. However where there so called NO SUPPORT IS is hires all Dummies and untrained Reps.cannot fix nothing if you can get thru after waiting 1-2 hrs. on the phone.
Stay AWAY I fiqure between my time lost and extra cost to get better service I lost at least $400. Trackfone is cheap so is there No Support program. Cricket stores seem to care alot more about the customer.At least the store I went to in Cricket Irwin Pa.

Have been a customer for YEARS. Their service coverage is spotty & they've recently changed to Verizon only. I cannot get coverage unless I travel 10 miles from home. I have 1,300 minutes & I can't use them! U can't email this company. Live Chats u just go round in a circle explaining your problem over & over.
I'm in auto enroll and will lose $435 due to not using their service. Stay away! We've spent LITERALLY 8+ hrs. with foreign customer service reps. I even bought a new iPhone thru them cos they said that'd help with coverage. They state they have coverage in my area, which is misleading.
My old Tracfone went out of date due to upgrading in April 22, 2022 and they promised me a NEW Tracfone which was NEVER sent out so now they are telling me that I have to buy another Tracfone and evertime I call Tracfone I get hung up on.
This Company should NEVER be in business since I was with Tracfone for over 10 years and they treat me like this!
My phone blew up. Contacted them sent phone back now will not send me new phone. When contacted them they try to transfer me to warehouse hangs up on me everytime. Tired of being ripped off
On April 6th I went to Tracfone's website to look for a new phone. They were running a promotion that if you purchase an Iphone Se with a $25.00 unlimited plan you get 6 months free service. I contacted them and spoke with an agent named Antoinette, I asked her several times regarding this promotion and transferring my phone number and was assured that yes, I get 6 months free service.
I purchased the phone, it was slightly more expensive then Amazon, but the 6 months free service more than made up for it. I received my phone a few weeks later and activated it. The following month I was charged, so I called, and spoke to a couple of different agents. One told me I wouldn't get it because I was already on a 6 month plan, I told her that you don't have a six month plan, it is either a monthly unlimited plan, or purchase air time as needed.
She put me on hold then told me since I was on a recurring payment that i would continue to be charged everymonth. so she cancelled the recurring plan and refunded the charge. I waited a couple of days to see if I would get the 6 month service notice and I didnt. I called again and was told that I wouldnt get it because I activated my phone as soon as I got it.
I purchased 3 LG classic flip phones with 1 month service for each (as required by the purchase) I placed the order via phone on 2/20 with a total wireless rep after several attempts to order via the website had failed.
The orders were shipped on 2/23 and I recieved them on 2/25 on the morning of 2/26 I opened the package and found 2 of the phones were defective. I placed a phone call on 2/26 to inform them of the issue, after 2 hours of technical support it was determined that the phones were defective and I was instructed that I would have to return them for replacement.
There was no return lablel in the package and I was then told that I would recieve a return label via e-mail. All i recieved via e-mail was a survey about my phone call on 2/27 at 5:06 PM. I then called back on 3/4 to inform them that I have still not recieved a return label. I was told again I would get them via e-mail. I recieved 3 more surveys about my return, but no label or address, but waited the 48-72 hours as instructed... no label.
I then called again later that week, I was told they they cannot give me the return address verbaly and it must be via e-mail. I then recieved yet another survey on 3/7. I then called again asking for a supoervisor who told me that she would send a return label via usps mail.
I waited a week, no label. So I called again. I was informed they never mail labels. and again told i will be e-mailed a label. no e-mails this time. and the subsequent 2 times I called after that. even asking for e-mail confirmation of our phone call and was told they cannot do that, they cannot provide employee number, or confirmation number
I then asked for a supervisor and got hung up on 6 times and when I finally got connected to someone after telling the rep not to transfer me untill he spoke with someone first, this supervisor then told me he would send the labels... again asking for e-mail confirmation of our phone call and was told they cannot do that, still no labels!!!
I then called for a supervisor after being hung up on 4 times and asked for their supervisor... I was told the call will be escalated and I would recieve a responce in 24-72 hours. No responce. Did this again, and still no responce.
I then called a 3rd time in april after being hung up on 5 times, I got a more polite rep who told asked me for the ticket number. I told him I was told I could not be given one. He said that was a lie and gave me a ticket number, but still no label or responce.
I then called a 4th time in april with a rep who told asked me for the ticket number. and told me it had not been entered correctly or escalated, but he would do that now. but still no label or responce. I have now called a 5th time 5/5 and this time asked sales to connect me to the corporate office and was hung up on.
I immediately called back got someone, gave them the ticket number and again was told it was not excalated. and the she would escalate it, she gave me a new number, but I am sure this will result in the same as before.
Unfortunately it is now May 4 months after the purchase and I still have 2 non-working phones. I wrote 2 reviews about this company and my experience and they both were responded to with links that go to the phone number that I have been calling all this time. Then then immediately removed the reviews stating it violated guidelines.

Received a defective phone out of the box, and Total Wireless is making me jump through hoops, and pay out of my own pocket for return shipping for their defective product that is supposed to have a 90 day warranty but refuses to give me a return address???
Took a week of constant calls just to get someone to talk to without being hung up on. Still got nowhere. They keep saying they are going to make it right and send me a return label, but never do, and when I call back to ask where it is I am told again I have to pay out of pocket but I cannot have the return address!!!
And the $25 plan is non-refundable even though it is linked to the defective phone. so i lose $25 plus return shipping?!?!?! Never again.
We had these phones out to employees and needy people as an act of charity, but this company is a total disgrace taking advantage of low income families and we will never recommend them again!

Tracfone violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act by refusing to provide the full service i paid for still, there own contract which states after one year the phone number can be kept and brought to a new service provider which i fulfilled, because of this i suffered a great deal of financial loss as a result of Tracfone’s deceptive and unfair conduct they yet still continue.
I also endured anxiety, sleepless nights and massive amounts of stress because i have now called to have my SIM card activated over 30 times in the past week and spent over 30 hours doing so only to still have the same problem and be railroaded by the company. I also have a finance in Peru who i keep in contact with every few hours and this is interfering with my relationship, additionally my bank account is tied to my phone number provided above so i can not do any on-line banking or tela-banking.
I can not receive a call from a doctor and have missed appointments because of this. I was also working with an SSI survivors benefits attorney who this number is tied to and had that case dropped because of this. I was about to buy a car and because the seller could not contact me he sold it to some one else. Because this phone number is also tied to a potential employer for an in home health care job, i almost lost my job and yet might still because of this.
I was unable to be contacted by my Realtor agent to purchase a new home. My passport had been sent to the wrong address and i had to wait and purchase a second phone and plan for 75$ to call from that to have anything corrected while they continue to illegally deny service which is paid in full. I have to call to get two immunization shots and reschedule now since the international travel clinic in Erie was unable to return a call for this appointment thus illegally keeping me in the USA.
I was approved for a $70,000 home loan which the loan company can no longer contact me because this happened and my phone number is also tied to that companies ability to respond as the rest of the issues here. I have not been able to recover any of these important voice mails that await me. They had me wipe the device and i lost paid for app's, a lot of personal information and all my contacts and was unable to back them up.
All the time i had to waist on this complaint requires compensation from prohibiting the above matters illegally. This complaint is to be considered formal and a lawsuit against Tracphone.

The reason i am changing SIM card's and service providers is at tracfone every few months or so for almost a year some one at Tracphone at there sole discretion with no initiation of mine enters data into the machines and disconnects my phone number and service which is always paid for ahead and ruined the SIM card info and it would take three full days of phone calls from my laptop and a VOIP service called TextNow to fix the same as now only now they refuse to fix the system and try blaming the phone which i repeatedly prove is NOT the problem and in fact the problem is Tracphone itself.
I had learned of this issue of a potential hijacking of my phone number from within the Tracphone company over a series of over 20 calls where as each of those calls at a higher "tech support" level they confirm the required data over the phone with me and i find it dose not match what i provide countless times.
I have screen-shot's of attempting to also use the text based assistance, the web site assistance and the app based assistance provably all failed as well as falsely advertising the web and text based service ends would produce a real human being as they claimed when in fact it is clearly an artificial intelligence and nothing more.
Additionally, the cheap phone and plan i was forced to buy in additon by Tracphone dose not have the capability to let me take my files offline on to my laptop at will and vastly is restricting the capability. I am forced to use Google which i DO NOT consent to having any access at all to any of this data. This inhibbits my ability to retain proof i have a fiance in Peru also and thus restricts our ability to even be together and married by immagration law as it states.
On Friday Feb 4th 2022 in the afternoon i received a call from 1-800-626-4883 Ext. 3324 asking me to unlock my phone, i said i needed a new SIM card and got a bring your own phone kit with an unlimited talk, text and data plan for 55$ to StraitTalk which is a umbrella company to Tracphone, the next day to find this extension number is useless and not anyone who dose anything any differently at all to resolve the issue and continues to refuse service by railroading me on every single call and failing to resolve the issue, totally wasting my valuable time and causing severe stress and massive damages to my life and rights.
On February 9, 2022 i was asked via email to contact Vanessa Favier, Senior Paralegal for Tracphone who i proved failed to provide all contact info yet said "We have contacted Mr. White and he is requesting to transfer the service to Straight Talk and was advised that he will need to purchase a BYOP SIM kit. He will contact customer service to proceed with the transfer. Based upon the foregoing, we will close this matter unless we hear from you. Please contact me if you require additional information or have any questions." I have fully fulfilled this request with no ability given to be provided the required service and what i paid for.
As of February 12th 2022 absolutely NO REAL or GENUINE INTREST to provide what i paid for or resolve this issue has been made by Trachpone company and i continue to be horribly effected.
Again, second and final notice: ALL CALL'S to and from Tracphone are recorded on my end and shall be provided to any governing body or my attorney of choosing at my complete and sole discretion and not made public unless by transcript ONLY. You have already been notified.
Damages exceed $200,000 and continue to add up from Tracphone's clearly intentional disregard and clearly intentional negligence. Its extremely personal, i am furious with Tracphone and do not want Tracphone's buisness as i am forced by Tracphone to resolve this issue to continue and Tracphone MUST BE held accountably by any means nescisary as is my indesputable God given natural right at this point.
I have been a customer with straight talk for almost a decade and have purchased several phones from them, meaning I have spent several hundred dollars purchasing their products. I recently purchased another phone and need it unlocked so that I can leave this service provider, however they wanted me to pay a fee to unlock the phone which would've been the price I just paid at Walmart and I've already heard its next to impossible trying to get a refund even a partial one.
Why should I pay the cost of another phone just to be free and rid of their service. This all started with me attempting to add minutes and purchase their monthly plan. I'm going through all of this because neither their site nor the automated phone would process the payment. Why should I pay because their tech and phone line have some kind of glitch and won't take my payment, actually how can they take the fees if the payment refuses to be accepted Asinine.
I got a phone from TracFone that was defective, so I requested an exchange. After speaking with Samuel, I was guaranteed that I would receive the same phone or, if they were out of stock, a similar one. An order ticket was created (1241346321) and I mailed back my phone. The phone was delivered on September 22 (1Z6980XX9034245213) and, according to Tracfone, I would receive my replacement phone in a matter of days. Long story short, I haven't received my replacement till this day.
I have spoken to several "managers" and my order ticket keeps being "escalated." As a consequence of this scam, I have not only been robbed of my phone, but also my reward points and one month of service which, by the looks of it, won't be reimbursed. In summary, TracFone stole my money and there's nobody I can speak to or submit a complaint. If given the opportunity, I would definitely sue this company.
I have been a satisfied customer of Tracfone since 2011. Until lately, that is, when I discovered Tracfone is about to steal my money.
In June 2016 I was induced to buy a smart phone by the promise of “unlimited carryover” “unused talk, text and data that never expires.”
Well, that was out and out fraud as I have discovered that my account has a service end date of June 20, 2017, after which my phone will go dead unless I spend more money.
I currently have 1211 minutes, 1169 texts, and 1.15GB, enough to last me a couple of more years without buying any additional capacity. Yet, that will all be stolen from me.
I have spoken with customer service lackeys and the response is essentially “buy more or no phone.”
On May 26, 2017 I wrote to Kevin Gulbranson, Sr VP Product Management with the above complaint. Three weeks and no response. No surprise there.
Unfortunately, I am stuck with purchasing more time from Tracphone to avoid being robbed and as I have not found another cell phone service as cheap. But I will dump Tracphone as soon as I find something better.
Those of you who have choices I suggest boycotting Tracfone until Tracfone's fatcat executives wake up to the consumer dissatisfaction.
I HAD BEEN TRYING FOR OVER A WEEK TO RETURN MY DEFECTIVE CELL PHONE TO SAFELINK/TRACFONE, AND THEY ATE MY GUTS OUT OVER IT-EVEN THOUGH TI WAS WELL WITHIN THE 1 YEAR WARRANTY. I FINALLY GOT A RETURN LABEL, AND THEY DON'T EVEN PAY FOR THE RETURN SHIPPING!
Their website posts erroneous data IE locale coverages. They offer a prepaid phone for sale that mandates a prepaid subscription to be included. The phone arrived but there is no coverage. Thier customer servcie said to return for refund. I did that... but! They only refund the price of teh cell phone.. your are stuck with a prepaid subscription that has no phone nor is it useable.
Big rip off... solict busniess with fraudulent indication it will work where bought.. offer a refund... but will not refund the subscription price paid. Fraudulent operation they have implemented. All would-be buyers need to be aware of teh scam they are running. getting free money for unusable prepaid subscriptions.
Tracfone Wireless, with phones and plans sold at Walmart, is a ripoff company, in my opinion. In Sept., 2020, I bought a phone with a monthly subscription plan from Tracfone of $25.00 for unlimited talk and text. However, each month I have trouble renewing this. I was told "just dial 611 on your phone". But when I do it offers only OTHER, LESSER subscriptions to tiny amounts of minutes for exhorbitant prices. Then I finally get a technician on the phone (from the Philippines) and they say they'll fix this and they don't, most of the time. I spent about 4 hours on and off to get it renewed the first time, for the plan I wanted ($25 for unlimited). Then second billing, problems again. Third billing, problems once more. I think it is an illegal "come-on" and likely fraudulent advertising to offer a plan that you can never renew. I want to change companies at this point and hope can keep my phone number. BEWARE! I think this is something an atty should look at, as it has to be illegal.
Tracfone advertises NEW cell phones, but sends nine year clients : "open box" , smudged cell phones. No respect for loyalty. It was shipped from a subsidiary called Ingram Micro 1451 Allpoints Ct, Plainfield IN 46168.
A security tape was missing and the phone looked dirty (dirty finger prints). This is how longterm customers are treated. SHAMEFUL.
Tracfone customer service needs some REAL improvement. 800-867-7183. Poorly trained
and INEXPERIENCED representative did not handle a simple number port from a different company but still part of the Tracfone company. Days of Delay, and uncertaintly, which did get resolved by a 2nd call, cost me time and money.
IF it had not been resolved, I would have LOST my original number and had a new phone with a new number which was NOT my intention. Rep would NOT escalate the call and repeately asked if I wante a new number which I did not. They goofed up info and my only clue was questions they asked did not seem right. Now I know why/.
2nd person did a good job and knew how to do this. My advice, is to allow more time, be patient, but we should NOW have to just KNOW that something is wrong. Bad customer rep was more concerned about CLOSING THE CALL then EVER being concerned me losing a phone number that has been in the family for YEARS. I AM FED UP WITH THE OUTSOURCING that means poor training. Never again.
Traffone had improved SOME aspects of their service, thankfully. They have some GOOD plans that are not expensive.
But their first tier level of responders NEEDS WORK. BE CAREFUL with this company.
My cell phone service is 'auto-pay' and comes with triple minutes, and 1 GB Data per month per payment cycle. Currently paid up.
I'm here visiting at a place along the Colorado river with spotty cell phone coverage. I still regularly get cell phone text messages and have called out a couple times. I was unaware that since I rarely used my cell phone here, but did get text messages, that they would shut off my service due to lack of use.
Eventually, a couple days ago, (I've been here for days 24 days) I get an email from them stating they had deactivied my phone, but showed the wrong phone number in the body of the text? And I soon found out that they had also clawed back my Data allotment.
Went online and reactivated. Data allotment was not restored. Meanwhile, I've gotten several emails about the deactivation/reactivation and each and every one shows the wrong phone number. Not a one of them shows my actual working phone number. They all show a different service end date from mine as well.
Called their service center...use to be I could request a USA tech agent and after 3 transfers would get one, this time, 11 transfers and it was a hard to understand Indian agent who pulled the old 'talk at the same time the customer does repeatedly so they get angry and hang up' gambit. I did hang up.
Earlier today, I drove 4 miles where I could get a very strong signal and used the phone as designed so it has been reactivated. Just now checked online and still no data re-allotment.
This clawing back of alloted data is just wrong. It's something I've paid for, THEY turned off my service without order or request, it's THEIR system that is mistaken about the phone usage, and when my service is reactivated, the SHOULD reactivate the data allotment.
I've been using Tracfone for almost three years, with three phone numbers. I have never, NEVER, been able to change a plan or make a purchase without a time-wasting problem. Online, their system is amateurish, often performing with glitches about which their chat-line reps say, "Oh, yes, we sometimes have that problem."
On the phone, their polite/ professional reps speak in heavily accented English requiring frequent "What did you say?" requests. My last attempted transaction involved receiving a SIM card that was defective (discovered after wasting a pay-by-the-minute hour).
The replacement they sent was the wrong size, and after being told repeatedly "You can buy another SIM at WalMart" and then 20 minutes of being passed around, eventually to a warehouse, I realized that this incompetent company needs to lose my business. I'd rather have no phone than a Tracfone.
I believe Tracfone is being GREEDY by stealing freshly purchased data airtime refills very quickly, via their Tracfones, so that their Tracfone customers have to keep purchasing more airtime constantly! How are they doing so? I am not sure. My hypothesis = via data running constantly, and unecessarily, in the BACKGROUND of many apps on Tracfones.
Last evening I went into all of my apps to clear caches, and tripped up on the "DATA button" in each app. When I clicked on it, It showed me the background data use over a month in each app. BOY oh BOY! I found a lot of use and ABUSE! Many MB of data running for nothing on many apps I wasn't even using!
1) Have a Tracphone with triple minutes for the last 3-5 years and seldom use phone. As of this writing, I have over 1,000 minutes left on phone.
2) Received a notice that at the end of 2019, my Motorola phone will no longer be able to access their networks since they are "moving" to another network.
3) Since it would be impossible to use up the minutes I have paid for, I requested a refund AT THE END OF THE YEAR for all the unused minutes I would have left after the end of the year. The purchasing of minutes from the tracPhone people are a binding contract between myself and them to provide and deliver that which is purchased by me.
4) When I complained to Tracphone, they said they will not remit a refund for my unused minutes. REMEMBER, it is them whom is not providing a service they offered for sale and that I agreed to buy!
5) After much bickering and complaining to TracPhone (Luis Perez,Executive Resolution Specialist,TracFone Wireless Inc.), Perez sent me a replacement phone. I told him VERY CLEARLY (and I have that in e-mail written form) that I wished to continue using my current and active Motorola phone until the end of the year since it is NOT expired and is still able to access the TracPhone networks as they have previously stated (I have that in writing also).
6) They sent a phone and after 10-15 days, I unpacked and charged it for 24 hrs as the instructions stated. After 24 hrs, I turned phone on and read the screen which said it was attempting to "activate" the phone WHICH IS NOT WHAT I WANTED IT TO DO since I was going to use my old phone until 12-31-2019!. I shut the phone off and went to use my Motorola phone and found that it was no longer working/activated!
7) After attempting to call my cell from a land line phone, found the number was disconnected!
8) I accessed my TracPhone account on line and found that my Motorola phone was not listed anymore! I found that they placed their new piece of $hit phone into my account!
9) I have written "Perez" about how angry I was and that he had no cause or permission by me to disconnect my phone which had plenty of time and minutes on it!....Seven e-mails to him go unanswered (damned coward!) and, even a starting a new complaint with a new complaint number goes unanswered!
10) A formal written paper complaint was sent to The president of TracPhone - Frederick J. Pollak, 9700 NW 112th Ave Miami, Florida 33178, USA, WITH NO REPLY OR RESOLUTION FROM HIM EITHER! A complaint e-mail was sent to: [email protected] and keeping true to form and with a continued and complete lack of customer concern or service, they too have NOT responded!
11) I firmly believe that enough time will pass that THEY will cause my phone to "expire" because I am not able to add additional minutes to it to keep it activated (Would this be racketeering or just out right theft?).
I am a disabled senior citizen and now, directly because of TracPhone and a select few of it's employees, I have no access to the active world.
My advice to those thinking about TracPhone or other associated phone networks they manage-own-control--DON'T DO IT!. You can see what happened to me. In the long run, it would be better to secure another phone carrier for your phone needs. TracPhone also has ties with StraighTalk, and others so, do your homework before signing with this bottom-feeder company!

Tracfone was to send me a replacement phone as mine was not functioning properly. After a month, I called them to ask about my phone. They said it was mistakenly sent to Florida (their HQ city). The customer service rep said there was nothing they could do and that I should talk to the shipping department.
The shipping rep hung-up on me in mid-sentence. I called back and the customer service rep again connected me with their shipping operations. I was told another phone would be sent to me. This phone, too, was for some reason sent to a Florida address. Further, my phone was de-activated as they said when they ship a phone they must de-activate the phone being replaced.
Now I have no phone at all and have lost my contacts. Moreover, I can't seek a job because I have no phone. When I oredred a new phone from another company, they told me that because tracfone had de-activated my number, I would have to get an entirely new number, which means I must re-purchase cards, stationary and all things using the old number.
Repeated attempts to contact Tracfone management have failed and they refuse to return my emails. I have contacted their world HQ in Mexico in the hope that I might get some assistance from them. I have also filed a complaint with the Federal communications Commission in the hope that Tracfone will think twice before doing this to someone else.

I paid for a track phone took it out of the box the face was cracked and was not working took it back and they will not give me a new one. I have the cell phone still and found out no sim card as well it is a zte.
I have gone back to replace the cell phone five times and trac phone will not replace it at all. Im upset and need this phone to work. Please help me with this trouble, i want the replacement cell phone or another cell phone that is a good one. The unit sells for $69.00.
I recently tried to upgrade my phone. For some reason the phone would not activate. When I tried to reactive my old SIM it would not reactivate so I activated an old TracFone to get through until the new SIM arrived. The phone worked 1/3/19 but 1/4 it would not make a call.
Since I couldn't call in, I chatted with a TracFone agent, who had me call and reprogram the phone after he told me that he had "reset" my account. The phone then confirmed it was programed but kept giving an error that there were no funds on my account.
He told me I had to call in and speak to a supervisor but couldn't advise how to call in because my only phone was not working. 1/5 I borrowed my mother's phone and called in. After a hour and a supervisor escalation they couldn't find any records of my chat conversation from 1/4.
They kept telling me I had used up my balance so would have to reload. When I logged in on 1/4 before the chat I had over 300 minutes and somewhere between 700-1000 texts. There was also a data balance but since I didn't screenshot it I have no idea what it was.
I got a card to put some balance on my account since this is my only phone but received a text this after, 1/6/19, confirming the cancellation of my service, which I did not request.
I knew it was the battery and kept telling them so. Finally I got a WOMAN who said pull out the battery and tell me if you see pink on top of the battery. It was there on mine. She said the battery is not good. I now am going to get a refurbished phone after the person who paid $100 at QVC for a faulty phone. I do not recommend this company. Malaysian people answer the phone number supplied pretending to be Americans. In other words a USED phone is what I am NOW going to get, NOT NEW. TracFone does not back it's phones

Purchased a TracFone sim card at Walmart. Then went online to purchase a phone plan which seems to be a requirement to use the sim card. No coverage or bars on the phone so I returned online to ask for a refund of the plan purchased just 15 minutes prior to finding out we didn't seem to have coverage. It took a long chain of phone options to get to a human and then I was transferred twice and on the last transfer I was told that all customer support lines were busy. 10 PM on a Sunday night. I waited 30 minutes and went through the same process to be told that they could not offer a refund for purchased phone minutes. I insisted on a refund and I was told to hold and they transferred me to the same dead customer support line that was supposable busy. I contacted Discover Card and was told I had to wait 10 days to file a claim because the charge needs to clear the account. Pee'd off is putting it mildly. We have another phone that is a tracfone that we will be purchasing a new phone and plan from a more reputable provider.
I'd signed up with Tracfone with a triple minutes plan. Each time I buy minutes they are supposed to be tripled. This last time they were not. I called and got totally unresponsive agents. I demanded to speak with a supervisor. He found I was right but said next time I buy minutes they would be tripled. He refused to credit me the minutes I didn't get this time. He refuseed to fix what he admitted they did wrong. I also found that carried over minutes also lose their triple status. You don't get what you pay for. Just a scam. Moving to MetroPCS. There you get better phones and unlimited time, data, tex and 4G LTE for reasonable prices on the same great network as their parent company T Mobile but with better prices.
In November, I bought an Iphone from Tracfone. This has been my preferred company for many years due to being a safelink customer and their prices are the most reasonable around, however in December after taking the Iphone to the Apple store and having issues getting it set up, I sent the phone back in a Fedex prepaid package. Never received a refund. Have called numerous times and they claim not to even have the purchase in their system, which seems very dysfunctional. Now it is March and still no refund.
How am I even supposed to call them when I don't have a working cell phone? I mailed a letter to them regarding this matter. Still no response. I want my money back and will go to any means necessary whether this is People's Court, small claims court whatever.
I have also bought over 1100 minutes sitting in my account which I can not use because the phones I have bought on their website for cheap, do not use SIM Cards and are not smartphones. When I try to use those minutes, I am told I have to buy a new card.
I want my money refunded. I will continue fighting this until you refund me my money. Never seen a corporation so poorly run in my life. This is ridiculous that you have no record of purchases or returns. Very questionable business practices.

The first cell i ordered did not work i returned and was sent the second still could not get connected.
tracfone sent the return box and the Fedex envolope but not lable with the tracking bar so i made up my own label and sent it days later i called fedex to check they could not track without the tracking bar was told it was mostly sent to them.
I called tracfone was told they did not receive it they could not track the pkg i said they were responsible for not sending the right return lable for the return was told it was lost some were but could not trace it with out the tracking bar.
I ordered a cell phone from TRACFONE and it arrived in a timely manner. The phone would not set up for use. i spent hours on an alternate line with their customer service before they determined the phone was defective. They sent me an air bill a few days later to return the phone. I did as they asked. Then I waited for a new phone.
After about two weeks I tried to find out what were they doing. They found the phone and gave me some run around about checking out the phone. I waited another few weeks. I called cusotmer service and was referred to corporate. Corporate would never answer my call. I have called several times and now I demanded they refund my money. Not response. TRACFONE should be at the top of the list of companies ripping people off.
Had to replace a Tracfone which had gone bad in just a little over a year. Bought a new phone and the minutes card. Was able to get the phone activated and the minutes put on new phone, very difficult procedure. When we tried to port the number from the prior phone, it didn't work. Transferred to a customer service(?) agent. Could hardly understand her, such broken English, I asked to speak to someone else, she refused. She finally figured out what do do, now understand I had been on the phone with this person for over an hour at this point. The number was finally transferred. When attempting to make a call, discovered the minutes I had paid for & put on phone were gone! Another call with no satisfaction, told me nothing could be done! Requested to speak with a Supervisor. Another hour and this person told me he had gotten my minutes on the new phone, that they would show up in a few minutes. Of course, they never did! Another call to these clowns, and was informed very rudely that there was nothing that could be done!! The minutes were gone because the brain dead dope had deactivated the phone to transer the minutes, that's not a valid reason to steal the minutes I paid for, the supervisor saw that I had put the minutes on the new phone. Anyway, I was never told she was going to do that! These crooks refused to make this right. They are a despicable excuse for a cell phone company!
Also, when we got the first phone that crashed, I had paid for minutes from Tracfone with a credit card. What a surprise that 3 days later, I received a fraud notice from my bank that my credit card number had been stolen & someone in an another country had tried to use it!
Please do yourself a favor, stay as far away from this scam of a company as you can. Any company that hides behind a website & has no physical location that can be verified is up to NO GOOD!
I purchased a cell phone call plan on 7-25-17 for $88.80. I damaged the phone and Tracfone will not carryover it to the new phone call plan I ordered. They indicate I have to tell them what minutes were used. I do not have the old phone and even if I did, I could not access any information from it because it is inoperable.
I called other phone companies to check their practices on transferring minutes to a new phone and they both said that minutes go with the phone number which mine has not changed. Also, one phone company representative said they don't have customers notify them of minutes used. I have furnished them with documents proofing that I paid for the call plan and for the new phone.
I have written to the BBB, the Florida Attorney General and now filing this complaint. The response I got from Tracfone was we need your old phone serial number and how many minutes you used (even though I have told them I threw the broken, old phone away. No mention of documentation furnished proving the purchase of the old as well and the new phone and July 25, 2017. purchase of the airtime plan. I am a senior citizen, but I do not think that is the way to treat any customer.

I am or was a Safe Link customer. on September 1st 2017 I called Safe Link to find out why I hadn't received my minutes for 3 months.
What I was told was that I had a second lifeline service. This is incorrect. What happened was several months ago, November 2016, I started having problems with the battery in my Safe Link phone, which I wasn't able to correct.
I told Safe Link this and they sent me a refurbished TracFone phone, not a replacement Safe link phone. I agreed to have them deduct $11.05 from my checking account for the minimum of 30 minutes.
This was a paying phone, no government free minutes. Whatever the problem with the battery in the Safe Link phone was, whatever was causing the peoblem, went away and I had no more problems.
Now I had 2 phones. Because I don't use the phones much I had no need for the TracFone phone, and let the service lapse. This was on August 10th 2017.
When I called TracFone, I was told a completely different story. I was told because I failed to recertify on time that was the reason I lost my Safe Link service.
I was never notified, as is their policy that it was time to recertify. Since the fault was Not Mine, but that of TracFone (Safe Link) they should rectify their mistake.
I was told I will have to wait until May 2nd 2018 before I can reapply. When I asked them why, they wouldn't tell me. I was charged $11.05 from November 2016 up to and including August 10th 2017.
I kept getting promotional offers to buy minutes from TracFone. I would without fail get yearly notification reminders of my upcoming recertification. They would send me notices. Until this year.
The only reason I can come up with for them not doing it this time was that they were deliberately choosing not to, knowing i would fail to recertify, which is what they want. They don't want to give me the free government minutes, when there is money to be made; and to put the blame on me when it was them all along.
They knew I didn't have 2 lifeline services. They deliberately failed to notify me that it was time to recertify. I believe because then I would be forced to continue to use TracFone, and wouldn't have to continue with the government program to which I was entitled. That is unethical.
They put me in this situation because of their greed. I complained to the NYS attorney general, but it was like talking to the wall. The complaint form they promised to send me was never sent.
Bought a Android Tracfone from QVC, LG L41C and used it for two years. Called to have it unlocked only to find out that they had changed their unlock policy. Now they require you to request to unlock the phone within 60 days of discontinuing your service.
If you go beyond the 60 days, you must subscribe another year to get your phone unlocked.
Filed a complaint with the FCC as the law states they have to unlock your phone.
Wish I had read all the complaints prior to purchasing this phone.
Though filing this report would let people know before you buy or at least give you the one up if you want to unlock your phone.
All phones can be unlocked on any carrier after one year of service.
I was a straight talk custumer while back and i had the plan the 45.00 unlimited plan and straight talk mislead me by saying the current fix data plans are truly unlimited data and its not the 45.00 plan today only has 8 gb at high speed and unlimited 2g and the 55.00 plan has the 12gb at high speed and unlimited 2g

My neighbor bought a tracphone three days ago. Since she is elderly and disabled, she asked me to activate it for her. I bought a pin number for her phone using her debit card. I made a practice call to see if the phone worked. It seemed to be okay and it said there was two hours of phone time on it. Luckily, I decided to make a second practice call. This time the phone said I would need to buy a pin number to make a call. I called customer service, which took an hour to get a hold of. They said there was no phone number assigned to this phone and that they would have to put in a work order. They said to wait 24-48 hours to call back. I waited 48 hours and called again. I talked to one person who transferred me to a second person who disconnected me. I then put myself on the call back list. When TracFone called me, they said to press 1 to answer the call back. Nobody would answer, so I hung up and tried to call again. The third person I talked to said the phone still has no phone number assigned to it. So he wrote up a second work order and said I would have to wait 24 hours to get a number, that nobody worked the first work order. This is the worst cellular service ever. Buy anything but a TracFone!
Bought a new Tracfone frome HSN, contacted Tracfone on the !4th, 17th and 20th of July 2017 my end of service date was the 29th of July 2017. Attempted to deactivate old phone and transfere my minutes (3678) and text (4371) to new phone. They could not perform this operatio before the end of my service date. They are now telling my I'm out the minutes and text that I pre paid for.
Tracphone ripped us off for $30.48. We paid for service and then his phone would not work, they could not fix the phone and were supposed to send him a replacement but they never sent it. We went round and round with them for almost two months and they refused to refund us our money. The customer service reps are rude and not helpful at all, each person you talk to just tries to transfer you to another department and you end up getting disconnected. Don't ever use Tracfone!!
First off I wanted to buy a phone off Tracfone.com, and I ordered the Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro and got free overnight shipping. Received the phone the next day to find out on loading it up that the display was messed up with vertical lines and flickering. Chat with Tracfone on their website and they said to charge for 8 hours and it would fix it, and if it didn't to call them. It did not fix it, which is pretty stupid to even suggest it.
So I called and they did an RMA, and sent off the box and label the next day and did not even receive that until the next Tuesday. I immediatly sent it off after getting the box an hour later at a fedex office. They got it two days later after tracking it and they signed off and took it. I watch to see if I would get a tracking number and they just told me that they ran out of stock and that I would have to wait for a replacement.
Okay, I was nice to be patient, but then this is where it gets to be a horror story. I waited another week and heard nothing and now it is two weeks after starting the RMA, and they tell me that they are escalating the ticket and creating a new one, and now it will be 3 to 5 days to even hear anything at all. So I waited the 3 days and then up to 5 days, and nothing. So I called on the 5th day, and they told be it was available to ship but had to wait 24 and I would get a tracking number.
I waited the 24 hours and then called again, when not hearing a thing, and they told me now then the ticket is pending and not available to ship. Okay, tell me it is going to be shipped, and then it isn't. Something fishy here. They tell me again another 3 to 5 days, and I still got no where different than the first ticket but with a new ticket that was supposed to be escalated but never escalated at all. They do not even know what escalated means.
So this is where I get so impatient and tired of the lies. I call again, and same excuses but different every other call. I got tired of talking to broken English people on the phone. So went to Facebook chat and complained, and no one even responds, when it says they do in a hour. So I went to their Twitter account and said something and they tweet back with a link to chat with them, but each time is something different.
They kept saying I will get it and every few days is 3 to 5 days and I will get a tracking number. Fed up now, and I am on a second chat, and they gave me a fake tracking number and said 3 to 5 days, and the tracking number was supposed to work on Monday as it is today. 11 digit tracking number that is supposed to be 12 digits. More lies. Even had Corporate Office call me on Saturday and they did nothing but ramble off tracking number that sound the same but was the fake one.
Corporate Office told me over the phoen I would receive the phone by Wednesday afternoon or Thursday. Well, it is Monday and almost closing for them at Floriida. No tracking number at all. I chatted about 4 times today and nothing good news on the phone except they all said 3 to 5 days. I will received phone by Friday. Another says I will receive by Wednesday but get tracking number today or Tuesday. Tuesday is one day before Wednesday. No way jose.
Just more lies. Last one I talked to on actual Facebook chat, says same thing as the one before the one before the last one, and says 3 to 5 days, thaat I will receive phone. The last 3 chats say Corporate Office is going to call again. All BS and no phone. Today is over and they are closed because it is 8 pm their time, and 6 pm my time. No tracking number, so tomorrow is another wait and no tracking number with just more lies.
I will have to wait all day Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other weekday after that to make sure I do not miss signing it for the package. They lie and lie more. I have today earlier reported them to the BBB. I am not taking this crap anymore. They can just get no more respect or recommendations from me. I am going to let BBB continue to contact them. If it takes this to where Tracfone is considered the worst rating ever. I do not care.
They deserved the bad rating. No way in heck, that I am going to buy another phone off their website. No way in hell I am going to waste more time talking to broken English people. They are the worst company to me. Good luck, because I sure did not have it with them.
I have been a satisfied customer of Tracfone since 2011. Until lately, that is, when I discovered Tracfone is about to steal my money.
In June 2016 I was induced to buy a smart phone by the promise of “unlimited carryover” “unused talk, text and data that never expires.”
Well, that was out and out fraud as I have discovered that my account has a service end date of June 20, 2017, after which my phone will go dead unless I spend more money.
I currently have 1211 minutes, 1169 texts, and 1.15GB, enough to last me a couple of more years without buying any additional capacity. Yet, that will all be stolen from me.
I have spoken with customer service lackeys and the response is essentially “buy more or no phone.”
On May 26, 2017 I wrote to Kevin Gulbranson, Sr VP Product Management with the above complaint. Three weeks and no response. No surprise there.
Unfortunately, I am stuck with purchasing more time from Tracphone to avoid being robbed and as I have not found another cell phone service as cheap. But I will dump Tracphone as soon as I find something better.
Those of you who have choices I suggest boycotting Tracfone until Tracfone's fatcat executives wake up to the consumer dissatisfaction.
Changed to a new phone. Had 2,000 minutes 1300 text and 1.3 GB of data.
It took them days and days five in all. Eventually they stole all my minutes. They said the new phone would work but I had no minutes. I told them how many I had the previous day. They did not care. Eventually they returned 762 of each lying that is what I had. 762.00 GB of data. Right. One in a hundred chance. All the same. Impossible.
They finally admitted this was their official policy to just steal minutes if they have a hard time getting a transfer done. Their mistake the coustomer pays. I was on line for an hour trying to get the minutes. All I finally got was an admission they routinely steal minutes that are expensive to get.
Note: I've talked to many people at Tracfone, and used their chat option, so at this point this websit may be my last best hope for recovering what I had. These two lettres to Tracfone best describe the situation:
5/25/18, sent at night after largely being penalized by Tracfone for writing to them the 2nd letter listed below:
Hi, my phone had 7.9GB of data. On 5/~18/18 it was accidentally changed to 4 (it showed up as 3.91) to try and restore minutes and texts to my phone (before that date the data and texts were changed to 15 each because I was compensated 15 minutes [not at my request] when they had me on the phone reprogramming my old phone to work while I wait on my current phone getting a warranty replacement). Rather than the 15 adding to what I had, it replaced what I had (thousands of minutes and data). On 5/~19/18 I talked to Maria BAQ750 and Mary 516322. I believe it was Mary who added the 4,000 minute and texts (neither or which were as many minutes or texts as were on my phone originally). She said this would add 4GB of data, totaling 11.59GB. When she did this, she saw the 7.9G didn't go to 11.59, but went to 4! She saw this and said so over the phone and she said she'd get it corrected.
On 5/21/18 I talked to Karen (ID 535021) about this and she got the data corrected to 11.78GB (close enough to the 11.59 or 11.9 as I saw it amount). However on 5/25/18 when Ana changed my minutes and texts, it also changed my data to 5.164GB. :`( My texts and data are still likely incorrect, given the latest verification showed I had 5829 texts and 4067 minutes when it was 100% certain (per me and Mary seeing it simultaneously and the conversation, which I'm told was likely/maybe recorded) my phone showed 7.9/7.59GB (Mary said some data was used, accounting for the small difference). Hence, some error is occurring in the system showing less of various info. on my accounts. One representative said the transaction history goes back only so far; this may account for why only some of my history appears to be showing up, resulting in understated total minutes/data/texts.
Please update my data to the 11.78 it was last at when I talked to Karen 535021, and please either verify w/her by asking her about it or listening to the recorded call. It is possible she notated the account, so you can check that, too. Either way, the info. is there and available for you to verify.

P.S. Also, please make it so I can check my minutes online. Tracfone made it so I couldn't check my transaction history "due to inconsistencies in the account", not due to password or other errors on my end, either by using my phone or logging in. Please fix this soon, as it has now been over a week w/o the ability to check it.
