Dish Network advertises on Dollar General Coupons that if you sign up for their services you will get a $50 gift card. I called after never recieving it and they refuse to give it to me. They said that the code is not valid, yet it is on every dollar general reciept in the country. They have used deceptive advertising and do not deliver what they promise. They would not let me speak to a supervisor regarding. They would also not change payment methods several days before even though I know longer use that bank account. Dollar General needs to know they are also involved in the deceptive advertising since it is on their receipts.

I have a big problem with Dish Network, this is the 2nd time they messed up my account. August 18, 2016 I called dish to tell them that I don't have enough money in my account to pay the whole amount, I pay $60.00 from the checking account and the $37.84 on my charge card. The man took the payments and insured me that I wouldn't get charged that one lump some of $97.84. Last night while at dinner, I looked at my Mobile App and seen my account was overdrawn. Dish Network took it upon themselves to not only take the $60 but they also took $97.84 without my authorization. I called dish to let them know of the situation, they said could refund me in 23 to 25 days which will be the next billing cycle! I told them to take me off of autopay, the woman in return said if I do then I would be paying $108. I still requested to be taken off. Then she said I would have to pay a prorated fee. I was furious, I told her I'm not paying anything else since they took 2 months of payments. This is the 2nd time they did this to me and something gotta give.

I have been a dish network subscriber for almost 20 years and they are straight up thieves! Years ago i was being charged for HD tv and I didn't even have a had television, so I asked them to remove the service. They told me that I qualified for free had for life, and I was stupid enough to believe them. I set up autopay long ago, it came out of my bank account between the 18th and 22nd of every month for years. Suddenly without notice they started taking it on the 13th, overdrawing my checking account since I get paid on the 15th. I cancelled auto pay and asked where my week went, since I got no credit for being billed early. No answer to that. I made a 1 time payment on their website, and my husband talked to them about setting up auto pay again for the 15th, they said they'd make it for the 17th, but did not take the money in December. i didn't realize they didn't get their money until I got notice on my tv screen that if they didn't get a payment in 48 hours they would suspend our service. I called to make the payment and find out how my bill was so high, and found out ive been paying for HD again for at least a year, and now I owe them 500+ for 2 months. I told them I would pay the past due part only, and the rest after the 15th of January. I made him promise me that he would only take the past due part, and after they took off the fraudulent charges, I would pay the rest. on January 8 I checked my bank account and Dish had taken the past due amount out and it said authorized phone payment, but after that they took out another $302, $116 more than my bill is supposed to be, and it said authorized phone payment too. It was unauthorized, it's for service that doesn't even start until January 13! I spent over 2 hours on the phone with them, waited on hold until they listened to the recording of me telling the first guy I would only pay the past due amount, he told me it was clearly a mistake on their agents part, and he would credit the amount back into my bank account in 5 to 7 business days. Then he was suddenly gone and some other guy came on and wanted the whole story again, tried to blame it on me, said I must have told the agent to set up auto pay again, I said then it wouldn't have come out until the 17th, and it wouldn't say authorized phone payment. He was a jerk, and I ended up hanging up on him.

if you use Dish Network, don't ever allow them access to your bank account! Don't ever use auto pay and electronic statements! If you don't go over your statement with a fine tooth comb every month they will find ways to sneak in extra charges hoping you won't notice. It was fraud to go into my account twice and claim they were both authorized, it's going to cost me $35 to have the bank permantly ban them from taking money from my bank account, but I have to do it. They can not be trusted. There needs to be a class action lawsuit filed against them for charging for unauthorized services, changing their billing dates, and stealing from customer bank accounts! I see lots of reports with customers complaining about them taking unauthorized payments from their bank accounts.

The credit card number these people should ever be given is a refillable one you leave at a zero balance until you want to pay them!

WARNING!!! Do not ever, ever 'bundle' your phone and internet with DISH! I have been without my land line for two weeks! Dish keeps promising to fix it, but the fixes are just temporary and the phone line quickly goes out again.

The problem is, DISH 'leases' their phone lines from Century Link, and is dependent on CL for line repairs or problems. However, I left Century Link after being way overcharged and bundled with Dish instead. Yes, Dish is less expensive and the employees are nicer than Century Link. But with CL, at least I had phone service. I've had nothing but problems with Dish.

DON'T GET YOUR PHONE/INTERNET SERVICE FROM DISH, YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Matthew Stafford makes commercials for the Dish Network insinuating that Dish Networks competitors have hidden charges and competes in the market unfairly. Well, if anyone should know about “Trick Plays”, it is the Dish Network because they have Mastered that Art!

We have had Dish Network for 16 excruciating months. Unlike cable, after about 1:00 AM a majority of their stations go to infomercials. Have placed numerous complaints with them and their standard line is that they just put out there what the broadcasters send. This is untrue because we get 24/7 coverage from those same broadcasters on cable without infomercials.

We also have DishNet for internet services. With that we only received 10GB per month. This is something the sales representative didn’t inform us of prior to going with them. That 10 GB goes by very rapidly and there is absolutely no audit trail of your daily usage so you are pretty much up to their mercy as to your actual utilization. Found it interesting that whenever I called to complain, my utilization suddenly increased and would run out long before the end of each month.

Since these two services were bundled together, I knew very well that there was a penalty should I cancel my contract prior to the end date. I knew that the rate was $20 for each month remaining on the contract at the time of cancelation. What I didn’t know was that there also was a cancellation fee for the DishNet of $17.50 a month as well as a return fee of $10 for equipment return, $10 for box return (?), and $6.45 for DishNet bundle. All told, I was charged $363.95 for which I was expecting only to have to pay $180 when I went back to Cox Cable for my service.

Now I’m certain that all of these numbers are buried somewhere deep within their contract but feel confident that they shouldn’t be running commercials saying how other satellite providers are pulling “Trick Plays” when they are the King of the Hill within that realm.

Bottom Line: Use extreme caution prior to signing ANY agreement with Dish Network.

When I was considering different solutions for TV and internet at my rental property I contacted Dish Network and one of their big selling points was that the service could be paused for up to 6 months at a time when the property was not occupied. For a landlord this was a great feature. When the property was unoccupied they said I would be able to pause the service and the bill would be $0(zero dollars) while the account was on pause and then it could be reactivated at any time. The total monthly bill for TV and internet was $101.

I called to pause the service when a tenant moved out and they told me they could only pause the video portion of the account. The internet could not be paused and the monthly bill would now be ONLY $82! I explained that this was not what I was told when I signed up for the service. The agents then proceded to transfer me around and after talking to several different "specialist" they offered to reduce the monthly bill to $45 for a paused account that would have no service. Wow, $45 a month to get nothing? What a deal!

I decided not to pause the service so my 2 year commitment would run out sooner and I could drop Dish as my service provider at this location. I suspect they planned to "pause" the service and collect $45 a month for nothing while extending my commitment period by the "paused" time.

Be wary, record your phone converstions with Dish so you have proof of what they promise. This was a classic bait-and-switch.

Called to request how to lower monthly charges. After an hour on the phone they ended up increased the bill. I called again, same results twice. I wrote two letters and they failed to respond to either. I called again and requested immediate termination. After hours on the phone they finally relented, however, they then charged me 294.50 to terminate. I had already paid them additional service charges after I request ways to reduce the bill. They lied twice. I was forced to terminate do to fraud. These people are horrible to work with. I spent hours on the phone. Now their collections people are calling me twice daily. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM DISH. Their customer service is right up there with Comcast. They lie and fail to respond.

Dish One sales person Alex, came to our door stating that he represented Direct TV and Dish Network and that he was stopping by to make sure that we were getting the best deal. LIE> He actually works for DISH ONE which is selling Dish Network services. He stated that DISH NETWORK would pay any contract cancellation fees to Direct TV for the switch. The fees have never been paid. We have called Dish Network, Direct TV, Dish One, Alex more than 10 times. Everyone just points you to someone else. We now are retaining the services of an attorney to seek class action status as this appears to not be isolated and at this point it is more of a case of simple wrong doing for us than the amount! I feel the need for justice for all customers that have been cheated and lied to even if it costs us more than the cancellation fee in the end it will be worth it!

Around the year of 2004. There was an paid commercial put out by Dish Network. You buy into their reseller "or something like that" program. With paying them Approx. $120.00, they send you a kit to promote Dish Network. This kit contained coupons which you could hand out to people who put in a place for people to pick up. With Every person who has dish network installed, Dish Network will pay you $75.00.

This was a lie. I have attempted to inquire with Dish Network several times now, and it is like they won't admit to having such a program. They lie about it. I never was paid a commission on anyone and I know that several people signed up with my coupons.

Dish Network continues to address this issue with me, I have tried several times.

This has bothered me for all of these years and I just decided that I am tired of seeing there ads, knowing they did this. Their CEO, who is one of the richest men in Colorado, and knowing they did this to me as with many other people.

I want my money back and the money that is due me on at least 7 people who got service via my effort.

Please watch your Dish bills. Dish TV has recently changed their billing period and dates. the result is the customer being charged 13 monthly payments in a 12 month period in 2015. We were receiving the bill at the beginning of the month from Jan to Aug. Dish decided they would change their billing to the end of each month and it would reflect an 'in advance' billing period. The original billing date would fluctuate a few days at the beginning of the month. We made a payment on aug 3, and then another on aug 27. Their representative told us the first payment (8/3/15) covered jul to aug billing period, The second payment (8/27/15) was to cover sept to oct billing peroid. They then wanted another payment in sept to cover sept to oct, etc. No matter how they cut it, it looks to me like I'm paying twice for a billing period. When I pointed out that in December I will have made 13 payments in 2015, they simply stated that although a payment will be made in December, it is a billing for the month of January 2016, irregardless, it will be the 13th payment. I then pointed out that means I will still be making 12 payments in 2016 to which they really didn't have relevant response.

This looks to me like creative accounting simply to boost profits.

In September I made the worst mistake of my adult life. I called Dish network instead of moving my DTV service. I was baited in by their $49.99 190 channel price lock, on October 3rd the installer came, got me going. The very next day my tv went out, it only lasted around 30 minutes, but all week it was in an out. October 10th non customer service department and told them about issue, lady said we can have someone out there in 7-10 days, I said ok can I get credited for days I am not getting service, lady said in rude tone no it is in your contract we are not responsible for service outage due to weather, I laughed and said lady it's been 68 and sunny all week, she said we don't do refunds. I said man I wish I stuck with DTV, her come back was if you don't like our service cancel, I said I'd love to cancel do I get out of early termination fee of $480.00, I said I'd call my lawyer before giving you not so nice people (in a not so nice way) 1 more dollar, she hung up. A moment later I get an e-mail that I cancelled my service I called talked to 5 different people, they were trying to charge me a reactivation fee, I refused to pay it. Long story short they gave me a customer restarting package took away my new customer discount, redzone for 1 year, and premium channels for 3 months all left, paid 103 and some change plus 50 for activation fee for 3 weeks of service.

After tons of complaints on boards a Shelly calls me, tells me how sorry she is that is not the way they do business, and I was right and will have my 34 bucks and some change as a credit for overpayment and all new customer discounts back, I thanked her for listening. Well today I logged in my account, and saw I only had a 2.94 credit, so went to Dishnetwork's chat lady said nope you have to pay 84 bucks and some change for the 190 package, I went biolistic called again, a super rude lady said what do you want, I said what I was promised, well I guess i'll give you it for 61.99 plus taxes and fees its close to what you were promised! What this is a disgrace, so I was getting nowhere like every other person I talked to from Dish, so later in evening I googled Dish Cooperate contacts, wow I found it, maybe i'll finally get some where. NOPE he said he's letting me have my 34. some change back that I overpaid to be nice, and if I did not want to lose promotion I shouldn't have been rude to 1st lady I talked to, and should be happy they gave me a half way promotion like I had in the beginning, OMG that is a lot like saying the customer is always wrong! stay clear from these people.

Dish Network says you can get all the NFL football games to watch even if you're out of the area where you normally would see them. That is not true. I bought the "multi-sport package" hoping to see Green Bay Packer games even though I live in the Southwestern USA. When I could not find the game on their "game finder" on their website, I callled them and they told me that even though I have the "multi-sport package" I cannot see all the games. What a scam!

We signed up for Dish Network in April, 2015 with a promo package for 12 months then 12 months at regular rate. After a few modifications our bill was supposed to be $48/ mo for the first 12 months of a 2 year package. Just received the October bill for $113, so I looked into it.

My wife has this on autopay. Apparantly our billing went from 48 to 105 per month in July, after what they are now calling the "promo period" for the movie channels. In april they said over the phone it was a 12 month promo rate that would increase during the 2nd year. We dont even watch the movie channels - why would I want to pay for them. Then in October, they notified us the bill would increase $8 for some useless service that was free until that point.

So, the dimwit in customer service changed our billing goin forward but would not give back any retro charges for july - august - september. These charges probably amounted to $175 for channels we dont even watch. Needless to say, this Company and the people that work there are nothing more than a bunch of dirtbags.

To compound the overcharges, their programming sucks, too. Cant watch TV if its raining too hard, snowing, too windy, etc... We should have just went with Comcast but were willing to try something else since Comcast sucks too.

I was contacted by National Satellite Systems and tol that if we would switch from Direct tv to Dish network we would receive a $250.00 prepaid Visa card to offset the cost of the cancellation fees with Direct TV. After cal after call, I was told we did not qualify for the visa card and they would give us a $50.00 Visa and refund the $49.00 service charge for National Satellite Systems, a Dish retailer.

My suggestion to you is to RECORD ALL of your CONVERSATIONS with DISH SATELLITE service customer representatives. Make COPIES of the current SALES PROMO that are ONLINE the DAY you place YOUR ORDER. Write on the contract what you were promised when the installer does the install. DON'T TRUST DISH.COM.

Now, here is what happened to me. I went on line to get Dish internet and TV. I have 2 witnesses that listened to what was said because I was on speaker phone & a 3 way call. When I called and talked with a service rep. I was promised a total bill of $89.98 per month for internet service & 190 channels (this included the $10/mo discount for bundling I would get for the 2 yr. contract). The 2nd year I was going to a 55 channel pack.

The rep said I would have to pay $10/mo for HD. I said I didn't need it & not to charge me for it. He said my TV would not work without it. I argued with him about this but he said I had to get HD to get satellite TV. So, my bill went up to $99.98.

When the installer came out to install the internet and tv dishes, he apologized because he couldn't get a good enough signal for HD because of all of the trees in my yard. I told him the rep said I couldn't get satellite TV without HD and he was charging me $10/mo for it. I had no choice. The installer said it wasn't required and he called in to remove the HD charges.

At the time of the install I purchased screen cleaner and a surge protector. This is relevant because I didn't receive a my first bill but did receive a phone message that my payment was late. I immediately called in and paid the bill. Had I received a bill, I would have realized immediately there was an error.

On my next bill I discovered what I thought to be a billing error. I was so wrong. I believe this was contrived from that first phone call. I called Dish and explained what happened and they said there was no charge for HD on my bill because new customers get it free for life. So, right away I know someone is lying or has lied to me.

In my view, THESE ARE VERY DISHONORABLE PEOPLE. I think it should be law that they must email or mail what was agreed to by phone so customers won't be cheated by DISHONEST SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES or at the very least, DISH SHOULD MAKE IT PART OF THE ORDER PROCESS to SEND CONFIRMATIONS AND DETAILS OF THE ORDER.

The most customer (dis)service would do was to take $5 off of my bill for 6 months. I told them this did not resolve the issue. This was wrong. I am not getting a discount, I am being scammed for $10/month.

I need the internet for my part time job (I am way out in the country). After the lies, I wish I had never ordered DISH for TV. I did without it for 5 years. I am an avid Kindle fan and I read and listen to books often. After the 2 year contract is up, I WILL DISCONTINUE DISH for TV. I feel like I have been scammed and cheated. Sure the money is not that much. I feel I WAS LIED TO AND CHEATED BY DISH SATELLITE from the first phone call.

I paid the initial 1st month for my granddaughter to have cable service with Dish Cable. I made it very clear to customer service that this was only for that month to get it started and that my granddaughter was to be the account holder and that if they could not do that we would not do business. I only did this because they have a toddler and needed the cable to help entertain her and it was going to be a couple of weeks before shehad a check. I was assured that my information would not remain in the system permanently and it would only be used for that one ocurrance.

My granddaughter, Taylor M., gave the customer service her billing information and all bills thereafter were paid by her. I never used that cable, never received a statement or phone call about any problem until a few days ago when a letter was sent to my daughter's address with my name stating an account with my name was sent to collections for $389.00. A 3-way call today with Dish Operator Ben PIZ, said that charges are now $489.00. Ben, PIZ, was absolutely no help, very arrogant and rude.

Taylor had very poor service with Dish and repeatedly reported outages and very poor quality. Charter had offered to pick up cancellation fees, but Dish would not provide requested information Charter needed to make changes in service and would not send out boxes to return the equipment. Now, months later, I am told collections have gone against me and that they never corrected the account information.

I am extremely upset, I have never had collections filed against me and always had good credit. When I went on the internet to see if there were other complaints, there were several thousand complaints regarding cancellation fees and unauthorized bank account debits. Pretty bad reputation and bad service. I wanted the name of the President to file a complaint but was refused that info.

Thank you,

Although I asked DISH network to close our vacation home's account, it so far has not because it intends to charge us an early termination fee of $400. It also continues to withdraw monies from our credit union, because it states the account is still open, despite my many phone calls and faxes and emails.

My husband is almost 90, a WWII vet, who is suffering from rapidly worsening dementia. I realized that we needed to return to Tucson where our Medicare insurance is acknowledged and also more assistance is available to him. He's now under "hospice at home care", a Medicare program. When I called DISH to close the vacation home's account, a lady with a foreign accent told me what I had to do, including faxes that I must send and also instructed me to take the two receivers and two remotes with me to our Tucson home. I did all that was asked.

But now DISH says the information I provided was inadequate. And I'd like to note here that DISH's responses to me have been few and far between. Only when I went to its Facebook page to make nasty comments did I learn that it wanted more information than I had previously provided. It wants to see a power of attorney and to know the name of the care facility my husband is in. I've told DISH that I am the care facility and that there is no power of attorney. After all, my husband's name does not even appear on the vacation home's account. It's clear to me that DISH has no intention of letting this old couple out of this horrendous fine.

We are DISH customers (for the moment) in our present Tucson home. I have no intentions of paying the $400 and do plan on getting back the monies that have been taken from our credit union. I know I'll have to take measures into my own hands to stop this very greedy corporation. I will fight them with anything I can think of. Sure got its attention when I posted nasty comments on its Facebook page. I should write well as I once was a NYC copywriter.

Dish network lied and billed us for usage after we already put the services on Dish Pause for the next six months. We paid the asking price of $88.00 in May and we were told by Dish representative #1 that after we paid that initial balance of $89.00 the next bill would reflect the $5.00 per month charge each month till November 2023. Then would return to normal broadcast channels and normal services would then be restored automatically. However fast forward and today we get a call stating that our service with them is disconnected and we needed to pay $80 to restore services huh... Tried to explain this to dish representative #2 that representative #1 told us what we would be paying and setup the Dish Pause back in May and she was not having it with us and was very rude and over talking us and basically like a shark out to kill us and never listened to us to the point I began having heart and chest pains and had to cut our conversation mainly her talking short due to feeling sick and I'll from all the unnecessary conversation and failure and good faith on their end. Tried to cancel my service 7 or 8 months ago. Was told your in a contract. I assumed this meant i was unable to cancel. So i was talked into downgrading my services. I explained to the rep i literally don't watch tv, haven't used the service for months. Well they lower the service i think all is good. Wait the time to cancel. I cancel with trouble. They are supposed to ship boxes. They ship them to the wrong address. 30 days later i'm waiting for boxes. I try to schedule the pickup to find out i'm being billed. When 3 days before hand i was having unannounced visits from the carrier to pick them up. Well now i call them to try and figure out why they are trying to pick up a package that i haven't received shipping details yet? They tell me to tell the carrier i don't have it yet. Well i finally get the boxes and try to setup a pickup to be told i'm being charged more. I call dish. They tell me it's my responsibility even though they said otherwise. I explain the issues i have had like the dish not transferring my service and me having to pay 6 months for non working service. She does a little digging and then tells me they didn't do it because there were trees in front of my house?! what this is the first time i've heard this. Then she tells me the reason i couldn't cancel before when i called the first time was because i didn't demand and scream to cancel my service? That it would have been cheaper for me to pay the cancelation fee, then to pay the monthly fee... So now i'm learning they literally just manipulated me into staying. No one wants to take accountability, they want to pass it on the customer. I will be reporting this to the attorney general. This seems very unethical to me.

My husband cancelled Dish and sent back their equipment. But they STOLE MONEY OUT OF HIS BANK ACCOUNT! It was $400 they stole and that was NOT RIGHT! Dish should go out of business. I went to their site and saw LOTS of negative reviews They don't care, don't listen to their customers that are unhappy. Corporate office is s**+**y! After this I'm going to the BBB and report them too! Stole money from our bank account!

I cancelled my service with Dish in March 2018 because I signed up with a new fiber optics cable company. Now, on 7/4/2018 I received an e-mail fom Dish telling me my bill is ready. The bill is for $259.06 due on 7/16/2018. I have tried to call twice and have been put on hold both times, one for thirty-eight minutes and the last time for over 53 minutes (I can verify these when I get my phone bill). I tried to go to their contact page and do a chat. The chat button does not work. These people are avoiding me so we can't resolve what the issue is.

  • Apr 30, 2018

I recently noticed on my bill that I was being double charged for my main D.V.R. I called customer support for this issue. The customer service department said it was for the recording feature in the D.V.R. I asked him to explain so he put his supervisor on the phone with me. The supervisor started out as if I was bothering him I could by the tone of his voice. I asked him why I was being double charged for my main D.V.R. He stated that was for the recording feature in my D.V.R. I asked him if it could be turned off he stated no. I then asked him if it was a separate board inside the D.V.R. He stated no again.

I asked him if it was built into the mother board he stated screaming at me in his broken language that he didn't know anything about a motherboard and called me a b***h. I then said thank you and goodbye. I was so upset at that time I started shaking extremely and started to cry. I asked the questions that I did because I am very computer literate on how to build computers and how they work. I just wanted to try and figure out how and why I was paying double for one D.V.R. needless to say I felt that nobody should be double charged for a feature within the same D.V.R. and not be told about it up front.

I ordered the bundle of internet, phone and tv hoping to leverage the services for my house. We had not moved in and was not informed I needed a tv on site, but offered to bring one during the process but was told it wasn't necessary. After asking about the capability to stream videos on-line we made our selection to obtain Dish/Hughes Net bundle of services. I never received a phone hook up, internet did not support videos and the cables I had to install into the dishes.

I was on-site to speak with the installer and the cables were left behind my home and instructions on how to plug these into the dish were given but I am not an installer. cables 30+ days later are not buried as promised and I did not sign the contract they have on file. Hughes Net who handles disputes waived all fees due to the issue, however, Dish states that because their single service is excluded from the bundled services which were ordered.

I have had numerous calls and willing to take their documentation to whatever collection agency they use and show my signature does not match the signed contract they claim to have. They accuse me of playing word games with the customer support but asked services to be cancelled if the fee was waived. Services are cancelled but now have a fee which I would have left on until this was resolved, now without service and claims they will not waive the fee now.

I have the proper documentation and have recently spoken with Dave Simons who accused me to trying to play word games with their team and that I would have had to known to have a tv on location, which was not communicated with me. Prior agents told me calls were not recorded unless given the proper disclaimer, however, he confirmed he reviewed prior calls including calls that were not to have been recorded.

I was also told by Mr. Simons that he could review all calls made by me by looking up the phone number, which I am unaware of what line I originally called to investigate coverage, but prior agents confirmed that is not possible so believe one must be misappropriating the information. After seeking legal counsel, we believe that I have sufficient data to prove that this is not an issue on my end and willing to deal with the collections agency if Dish support is not able to address the situation.

I understand the company has their financial obligations to their investors to retain their fiduciary duties, but in this case they are expending substantial time and effort on a case in which I have provided clear documentation that I was on site and documents were not signed by any home owner when present to review the contractual terms. Two-thirds of the requested services failed and in order to secure proper internet and phone another vendor had to be selected as neither Dish nor Hughes Net could provide a viable solution risking my wife's job.

I would have stayed with Dish but they services of Internet and Phone offered online and through the chats and phone calls I had with agents are now being considered irrelevant information. Lastly, the contract they state is valid for termination is being overcharged based on the remaining months of service, yet they are trying to charge a fee over the contracted amount. Sadly, I am willing to talk to a collections agency, rather than dealing with the poor service at Dish.

Thanks

Been a customer with Dish Network for years. Had an issue with my dish receiver last November and called customer service about it. Spent over an hour on the phone trying to explain to the tech support that my receiver had gone out and told them I alread went through all the steps to see if I could get the receiver to work but they insisted I go through them again. They finally determined that my receiver was no longer any good. Duh. Anyways they informed me they would be sending me a replacement receiver and that I needed to send back the bad receiver. I received my replacement receiver on November 20th and returned the bad one the exact same day. A couple of weeks later I receive an email that I received a charge for unreturned equipment. This is BS. I contacted customer service but they informed me they could not help me because there was nothing showing that I returned my equipment. This is a load of crap of how they treat loyal customers who have been with them for years. I am seriously considering cancelling my service and doing what everyone else is doing these days and getting a streaming service because I refuse to pay for charges on equipment that I KNOW I returned.

I made my dish payments using the pay my bill option on rhe dish menu. On two separate accasions it took two payments. i called dish wanting a refund for the second payment was they could not refund because we were inthe next billing cycle and payment was due. 30 days before the due date

Last weekend my dish was not working the payment was due. it said a payment of $99.00 would return my programming. I made the $99.00 payment my, programming returned , when checked my bill to know when the next payment was due it my account balance was $0.00. because the payment was late $0.00 could niot be correct When I c hecked my bank ledger it showed three payments to dish one for $99.00, one for $110.12, and another for $110.58 .

12/24/17 Calledi dish about the problem. I told them i needed money from the other two unauthorized payments. they said that the $99.00 was due and i agreed,

then was told next bill cycle had taken one of payments, and would not be refunded i argued thats not right because it wes not the due date. The agent gave me excuse, and i said ok. Then i askedabout the third payment, nhe said he would reverse it thanked him and hung up

12/26/17 Ilook in my account ledger the money was not put i called dish the agent reviewed the account and said i would be refunded the money in 10-14 days i explained i .was on a fixed income and could not wait that long. he told there is nothing he could due. I ask to be transferred to his supervisor, he did, supervisor said the same ,i asked for his supervisor and eventually did. Her name is Ashley who informed me it wasn t her problem.

i explained i was on a fixed income and could not wait that long. she informed it coulf be as much as 19 days. when told that may mess up my bank accont she said i should take that up with bank. I explained that dish made the error and its not the banks fault , and could not wait 19 days. she there is nothing that could be i asked to speak to her supervisor she said there isnt one. and ended the conversation.

I was about to get approved for new vehicle which my family of 6 badly needed. I checked my bank account this morning and seen after 4 months of no longer having dish network that they took 420$ out of my account!! I haven't spoken to them in months why the hell would they take his money and WithOut my permission because I never sign up for automatic withdraws!! I called my bank and the dispute system told them I did not authorize this and got a dispute report going. My bank told me to call dish network to see if I can get a refund though so I did. The gentleman I had first said he could take care of it then he placed me on hold and switched me to a supervisor. She told me it was an early termination fee! I said you dont take my rent money or my money period without my authorization you can't do this I want a refund. She did that bull crap lie and said I understand but I'm very sorry you signed the contract and it states we do an automatic withdraw fee if there's an early termination. I said no if I wanted to pay you it would've been done we were 2 months behind but I went back to nursing school and only my husband works now so we could no longer afford dish network it's a freakin luxury not a need!! My 4 kids and I now have to suffer and go to the food bank because they took not only bill money but also grocery money and refuses to return it. They never disclosed with me anything about being able to automatically withdraw without my permission and we don't get paper contracts which is also bullshit. If I would've known they were snakes like this I would've never ordered service with them!!

In April 3rd, I was woken by my dogs to heavy smoke showing. I ran upstairs (i fell asleep in the family room in the basement) to find the source of the smoke. I discovered flames at the bottom of the steps (that go up to the bedrooms). My mother was trapped in the second staircase and my attempts to save her failed. Normally I wouldn't go this far into my ordeal, but I'll make the connection soon. Since I'm a volunteer firefighter, I contacted the 911 's get via my portable radio..... Anyway.... I was taken from the scene to the hospital for smoke inhalation and pulmonary embolism precautions. The third day I was feeling mentally stable enough to call my utility companies to inform them of the fire.

Everyone was incredibly supportive and I was 100% honest with them stating, I've lost everything, I have no idea how or when I'll be able to pay the bills. Well, except for Dish Network.

In order to stop the billing on April 3rd, and break the 2 year agreement, they demanded photo documents of my home to prove that my house was destroyed. They also required I send them a copy of the fire marshals report and since the high speed internet connection was in my mother's name, they required an original copy of my mother's death certificate. Once they get this information they will stop service and bill me up til April 3rd.

The representative gave me their fax number and informed me that she is working until 9pm and she will check for my fax. My reply: You want what???? I admit to her that I was under the influence of sedatives and I was still hospitalized. She replied that they needed those documents quickly. I explained to her that I don't have pictures of my home. And the fire marshal is still investigating and lastly my mother's body was still at the coroner's office. And I start to cry all over again. All I wanted was for service to be disconnected.

She said that she can disconnect service for tv only because my name was on the bill. I mentioned to her that it's not like you can watch tv at my house anyway. I also explained to her that I will do my best to get the documents when I am able to do this. Now..... She also states that the receivers and remotes need to be returned and she will be more than happy to send out three return shipment boxes to my address. The anger stage presents itself.... I angrily explain to her, there's no receivers, and no remotes and I don't have an address. She insists that unless I send the receivers and remotes back, I will get charged for them. I yell at her stating... I have no idea what to tell you.

I've been told there's nothing left of my home. I live in a rural area and my house was cedar sided and limited water supply and there were 21 volunteer companies fighting this fire for what I was told for 6 hours. THERE'S NOTHING LEFT! As of September.... I'm not being billed monthly, but I get phone calls and bills for 794.52 for the receivers and remotes. I faxed photo documents of my home and a copy of the marshal's report. But refused to send a copy of the death certificate due to sensitive information on it.

Just got off the phone with an idiot who barely speaks English who explained that since the equiptment I rent from them isnt working they will charge me $95 to come fix their own non working crap. When it rains, even a little the signal goes out. Ever night at 1 am they shut your programing off to upload new stuff... the most insane time I could ever imagine... yet they dont tell you. Now I cant even watch the stuff on my dvr which I paid a fortune to get, and they acknowledge that something is wrong with their equiptment, but expect me to pay to fix it.

DONT possibly use dish, they are just as bad or worse than Direct tv... as soon as I can I am going back to cable, they suck, but they suck less.

I called Dish network to get more information, after recieving my millionth offer from them. The phone rep talked super fast with an accent I had extreme difficulty understanding her. Repeated requests to slow down and clarify went unheeded. I was told that she could not give me a final price unless i gave her my social security number and all sorts of information.I refused at first, tried to get off the phone with her,but i aquieced when she said it was so they could do a credit check, which made sence. I stated clearly several time that i was not authorizing service. When I gave my info I stated it again, and said I would take legal action if they charged my card before I gave them authorization. She said she understood.

later that same eveing I got a robocall from Dish saying their technition would be at my house at 8am to install. I called the number and spoke with a rep. I gave her my name and address and stated that I had not authorized service,do not send an installer. I worked late, out of town and got up late this morning. Several texts from Dish with two differant install times, and a Dish van already in my driveway. Niether I nor my son who was already up and downstairs heard anyone knock on the door. By the time i got my pants on,the van pulled out.

Do not give thses people your information on the phone unless you intend to buy their service. I was actually likely to take their deal, low cost for two years and free HBO for a year, better deal than Direct tv could offer me,as i am already a direct tv customer. But my conversations with Direct tv were easliy understood, both ways,no need to try to interpret bad english, and my service with Direct tv has been fine for the two years I have had them. it is tempting to swith back and forth every two years to get the hot deal. But Dish networks heavy handed practices and all the negatives i have read here on Rip Off report have led me to decide to just stay with Direct TV.

As of this time, they have not tried to use my credit card. I emailed them as a response to an email I recieved regarding installation. I stated all of the above details. As of the moment,I have recieved no response.

Many issues occured with service, not leaving me with a happy service....

1st ,Dish network did not tell me that certain channels I signed up for could be at jeopardy to have pauses or discontinued during serive.

2nd, Dish did not make me aware that I would not be able to view my MLB league when home games occured, even though I signed up for the sportz package.

3rd, Dish did not tell me I had to share air time with other customers;therefore, slowing down or making my storage space to watch DVR slim to none. 4th, Dish did not tell me my service would be out every time it rained, snowed or a chance of wind.

The final straw was when I wanted to cancel my service due to a move and unhappiness of one year of service they told me I would have to pay an outstanding disconnect price (even though I constanly called with service issues). When my husband asked about the fee, they told him I signed a contract. I did not sign a contract, so he asked for them to send us a copy. When they sent it to us, a forged signture, spelled wrong with the wrong initials were everywhere on the contract.

We attempted to resolve with customer service and upper mangement, no success. I am now seeking further legal resources.

In Febuary of 2017, I applied for a house loan and on my credit report show that dish network had a faulse report on it. so I call Dish and they refuse to take care of it for me. The name which it was used for dish was not my name, and the address was not my address. I stated to dish that I never been in Sherroesville Ohio, were the service was installed at, and that the name and address was not mine, only the social sucerity number was mine.

The address used was in Stop Bridge Michigan, for the dish account. I live in Superior Wi and I also stated that I never been there to Stop Bridge Michigan. Dish network refuse to resolve this disput. I asked them to send me a copy of the contract so I could prove to them that I did not sign it and they refuse to send it to me. I hope you can help me out on thos matter and believe when someone make a mistake that they should be will to correct it. Thank you for your time.

I could sit and write how I'm a single mom with a special needs child but it's got nothing to do with the situation at hand. However I know what Dish network has done has got to be illegal. I had service with them for 2 months ... bill didn't match what they promised. So I cancelled. They took 349 dollars from my checking account without my permission. Everything could have bounced if not for a good friend .

  • Mar 11, 2017

I did not have dish network in my name. It was in the name of my brother, Richard Reed. There was never any payment arrangement authorizing automatic payment with the use of a credit card, debit card, check, or any such. $500 to $600 was taken out of my checking account, not my brother's..who's name is on the account! Furthermore, the bill was never paid with the use of my, Suzanne Jones, credit, debit, bank account, or any other means. I never paid a single bill. The service was not in my name. It was not my account. I have $4 left in my account. I demand the funds to returned immediately. If not, I will be seeking immediate legal action. I can be reached at or .

I contacted Dish to inquire about their cable service as I was thinking of switching cable providers. In the initial part of the call they asked for my debit card number and personal info to store on my profile in case I decided to sign up in the future. I was guaranteed that there would be absolutely no charge to my account unless I activated with them. I then felt uncomfortable with them having card information and asked them to delete the info on their end. I was told they would erase my card info.

This was yesterday on February 23. Löw and behold I log into my bank account today and see a charge I dont recognize and it is from Dish Networks for$1.00. I don't care about the dollar but what they did is wrong. I was in no way notified that there is a charge for them. to "qualify" me for their service. They performed a background check as well so perhaps that is what they deemed as chargeable. I was told that I would receive a credit back to my account in the next 3 or 4 business days. Im not sure if this constitutes as fraudulent behavior or not but wanted to file a complaint as the principal of what they are doing is wrong. Thanks for any help or advice on filing a complaint!

After 15yrs. of being with Dish of Free Local Channel that have been FREE on my Feb.2017 bill they are now charging $10.00 month. When I called them ( many agents up the latter) they told me that this was a new way that there were Billing to show what was on the bill now. They also told me when I asked it is FREE that it has neven been Free we have alway's paid for it. Well I went to there web site on 1/23/17 to find that it still said that Local Channel Channels were FREE.Then with in 3 day's I received a call from Dish Dispute Resolution via. BBB & was asked were it said free,I told him on there web site.Well when I brought up that site (with him on the phone) guess what it did not say free any more!!! Well On the Monday before I knew something like this was going come back on me so I had made a copy of the FREE ADD,as I told him he sure changed him mind fast.It is now 2/15/17 & I had found still many Dish that still say FREE LOCAL CHANNEL.Also not That we here & other state's had had ABC taken off the air again in the last 3 years for 2 months ( they were in negotiation for 6 months, then were given 2 one month extantion of the air 2 month = 10 months & then we had to pay for a service that we did not get & that we were getting for Free. This is not the only channel that they have not done the so called negotiation like they should be done. From what I have found out is that Dish is known for doing & telling there customer that the other company is the one. That is just a cop out on Dish part as they kept on doing this.Been with them 20 yrs. plus, but the on going lies & the Law Suites & fines that they had to pay in the millions only show there are not doing thinks very good & also who ends up paying that money,in uor bills. Well I have been looking for other place & ways & maybe it is time for me & others to go down the street. (This paying for something that was for free for years sounds like manybe a Calss Action Suit???? Just a heads up check your bill!!!!

I had Dish Network, but switched to Comcast. When I called in to discontinue their services, the salesman talked me into leaving my account on pause incase I did not like Comcast. I had a 30 day cancellation of contract with Comcast. I was weary because I am very busy with work and school, because I was afraid I might forget and get double billed. Well, my intuition was right. I forgot about the pause and for the last four months, totalling $413, I have been billed for services I was not using.

I filled a complaint with the BBB, but someone from Dish who handles those complaints called me and was an arrogant jerk about it. I told him it was a mistake and that I did not mean to leave the services on. I explained that the equipment was not hooked up. I can verify with my Comcast bills that I have been with Comcast the entire time they were billing me, but he insisted they could not refund me because they say I was receiving services.

Well just because they left the services on does not mean I was using them.

It was an honest mistake, but apparently they need money so bad that my opinion of their company and their reputation is unimportant. It is more important to them to steal money from my account for unauthorized use, because had I seen the auto-deduct from my account, I would have cancelled the account much sooner. I get that it slipped my mind about the pause ending and the billing beginning again, but does that make billing me for services I am not using ethical? My television can only have one cable company hooked up at a time, so how can they say they are billing me for services received? I was not using their services. I can prove it with my cable bill from Comcast. Their equipment has been disconnected and not in use the entire time.

I will never use Dish. It does not mean that you cannot get a good deal or that their product is faulty. It just means that the people that operate the service have no heart or concious. Their bottom line is more important to them than their customer. Never leave any service on pause, because if you forget and it slips through the cracks, they do not care. They have been rude an unconcerned with pain and suffering. They are perfectly ok with billing you for services accidently left on even though you are not using them. It is exactly what they told me when they called. The man was rude and argumentative. He was completely unsympathetic with my pain and suffering. Their customer service is abismul and uncompassionate.

Dish Network took $460 out of my checking account without my authorization. When I contacted them about the transaction I received 2 different stories. The first representative told me the transaction was for their equipment and once it was received they would credit my checking account. The second representative told me it was an early cancellation fee and no matter what I did they would not refund the money. I am a single mom who just got paid on Friday. After buying a few groceries today I have less than 50 in my account to last for 2 weeks. I need gas money to get back and forth to work and my utilities are due on the 19 th. Thanks to Dish Network my family will not have power or water. The customer service representative was rude and would not help in any way at all.

I just want to share with you what Dish is doing to get you into a contract with them without giving you what they promised. Well, I have my Dish service installed on June 2016. I signed with them because they offer a $150.00 gift card and a fixed price for two years. After 6 months asking them to send my gift card, now they say that it is expired. I did everything they ask, including a payment for 4.95 for processing in September 2016. They tell me that the Installation Company(contracted by them) is responsible for the offer. At this time, I as a customer, did not get what they promised me. So, be very careful with this company and theirs contractors!

Had to move and decided to switch to Dish to bundle tv and internet. First indication that I got ripped of was that I was promised a bunch of channels that I don't actually have unless I pay $50/month more for; they "farm out" the internet part to Century Link which is notoriously bad in regards to customer service - had I known that I probably would have never switched. A week later the tv satellite was hooked up...no problems there. The tech made sure to point out that I should give him all "10" scores on follow-up survey. Whatever. The following week (yes, they make you wait a week after tv hook-up), the Century Link tech shows up and says my inside line is not good and she can't possibly touch that and I would have to have someone else run a line. I happened to have a handyman there later and he did it in literally less than 2 minutes.

It didn't require going under the house, or climbing a ladder, it was something I could have done myself while she was there had I known how easy it was. I called the tech back after two days of no contact to see when she would come out again, she replied that she had nothing to do with that I needed to take it up with Dish. Called Dish about 12 times; online chat another 3 times, and am up to e-mail #10. They all tell me how important I am to them, I can have HBO for only $10/month for the inconvenience, and that they can't help me and I need to call some other number, and when I call that number they either 1) claim they can't hear me, 2) have too much background noise (kids screaming, etc.) to hear me, or 3) tell me that I have to take it up with Century Link.

Meanwhile, they have taken my payment promptly for internet I should have had on 11/01....it's now 11/19 and as far as I know they aren't planning to come out and finish the job. I tried finding phone numbers or web addresses for other entities in the company, maybe someone a bit higher who might actually listen to me and not just follow a script, but the e-mail address comes back "undeliverable". Years ago I had Dish and their customer service was great, but I absolutely will not recommend them to anyone anymore and I've posted warnings on Yelp, Google, Facebook, and have talked about my experience with every friend/acquaintence I have who ask for referrals. I may just bite the bullet and cancel with them and pay the damned monthly amount for two years so that I can go back to what I had, which actually provided customer service and internet.

To all: Beware of Dish Network One: I used my credit card with Dish for a friend to pay the deposit and I was to that the would not be any other charges. Standing right next to my roommate I watched and listen to her giving Disk her card info and again they said that they would not charge the card again but they still need an addition $50 after making the deposit. They stated that this is a processing fee. Second: after the tech finishes the installation they have this little PDA you have to sign stating that installation is complete but this is the signature for you agreeing to everything that you don't even know about and last if you need to cancel service they try to charge a $450 fee, this is really for all of the equipment. They don't want anything return. After several complaints they claim that they don't have a record of it. The complain was about lack of service on a sun day all in days after installation After my card was charge my bank stated that they was no issue found based on Dish and that signature. So not the bill is paid but they stated bill was never paid

Today is 10/19, I cancelled my Dish service 8/22. There's over $30 in credit on my account for 2 months. I had no contract obligation to dish, and equipment was received at Dish 9/12. That delay was theirs in sending their return info. Today, I called dish to ask where my refund was, I was advised, get this...Dish does not send refunds unless a customer requests it! I asked does that mean Dish will keep MY money indefinitely if I do not ask for it? The rep chuckled and said that is exactly what Dish does. I failed to see the humor. I asked if this was legal...no response. I asked how long before my refund...20+ business days, AFTER the "check" clears the bank. I asked what that meant, rep could not explain, nor could he tell me which bank(s) he is referring to. I asked how much interest I was going to receive, similar to a late fee Dish would charge for having my money for 2 months...he chuckled again. I was not trying to do a comedy routine, I wanted serious answers. I do not see how this can possibly be legal, let alone keep someone else's money that is not really Dish's, and do it in what, good conscience, as this is done for the benefit of our customers?

I ordered a DISH TV package with internet service on September 14,2016, installed September 19,2016. I have had no issues with my TV part of the package. However, the internet service has not been opertional up to this point.

I installed the provided modem as required- the technician that was at the home for the installation did not perform this duty. The internet would not connect, keep display no internet to access. Meanwhile I still had my old provider, which is still operational at the same location.

I contacted DISH TV Technical Support on September 22,2016, They talked me through all the equipment to ensure it was installed properly-it was. They had me restart everything ( 3 times total) prior to it finally becoming operational. The service only remained operational for 11.5 hours. Where once again it showed no internet access available.

I once again connected DISH Customer Service, spoke to the disconnect department on September 26,2016. They said that I needed a new modem and that this would repair the issue. I explained to them I am now paying for 2 internet providers, but only receiving 1 service. They gave me a $14.00 discount at this time.

The new modem arrived 3 days later, I installed it as required. No internet access available again. Same issues as before. DISH TV sent out another Century Link Technician who once again checked the outside connection and left. No technician came into the home to check to see if there was an issue inside.

I again had no internet, DISH TV Technician have admitted on 6 different times they do not know how to repair this issue. I have never had this issue with my other provider. I am using the same laptop with both.

On October 12, 2016, I called to disconnect my internet service completely. Nothing has repaired the issue and I did not want to continue to have 2 internet providers.

I was informed that I will be charged $84.00 for the month of service ( no service provided) and I will be charged $240.00 to disconnect this service. The total being $324.00 for a service I have never received properly.

I will be returning all equipment once the box arrives: This includes 2 modems, 4 telephone service jacks and 6 different internet wiring as provided.

I think it is unbelivable that I am paying $324.00 dollars for a service that has not been operational and even with all the suggested repairs from DISH this is still not working.

I added my daughter to my dish plan about March of 2014, during her pregnancy of her first son, so she could have TV during a very stressful pregnancy. At the time, she lived in Moses Lake, WA. She wanted to go back to school, so we decided to add internet for her to use for on-line college classes. She called to get the internet set up; everything proceeded smoothly, apt was made and she was told equipment would be sent out. The process to get this done included a credit check, using my social security number, charging a ghost charge of $1.00 on my debit card. Day came, no equipment, and when she called, Dish said they had no record of this appointment or even talking to us.

My daughter called Dish again, we set everything up together, again, another credit check; another dummy charge on the card; another appointment; she did get equipment, but no appointment! Again, when Dish was called they had no record of the appointment or of even sending equipment.

My daughter set up a THIRD appointment and just REPEAT of the above....

No internet service, no apt on file; NOTHING!!!!

My daughter then moved to a different house:

Still in Moses Lake. She called to set up an appointment to get dish internet; we went through the same procedure as above!!! Two different times, same scenario!

Today, on 10/4/2016, I have set up yet another appointment and to get equipment sent out to her to get the service set up; again, no record exists of her former call; no technician showed up; no equipment received. I have spoken to Veronica, and another woman, in the office of the president, but she stated all she could do was take my complaint, she could not help me facilitate this so my daughter would get this service!!!

So far, Dish has checked my credit six times in less than one year! Do you realize what that does to your credit score? It is horrible to go through this. This company needs to be held accountable for this disgusting customer service!

The really disgusting part of this, is that all this time, she has had an active Dish TV account...and Dish advertises World Class Customer Service.!!! What a joke.!!!!
