DISH Network L.L.C. Reviews

  • Oct 3, 2016

I ordered Dish service in Oct 2014. My husband was home to sign the agreement. My receiver the next day blew up and caused damage to other items. Dish sent me a replacement but that receiver was not very good. I was told to wait a year and do a free upgrade on receiver. I contacted Dish in Oct 2015 to do just that. They said it would be no problem and sent out a tech to install new receiver. I called a couple months later to verify my contract end date that I believed would be in Oct 2016 and I was informed that no, I was under contract through oct 2017 due to signing a new contract. I told them I did no such thing and the gal informed me that I had. I requested a copy of the contract. I received that contract in the mail and I was astonished when I looked to see someone had forged my initials and they were not even the correct initials! They forged it under customer signature, card authorization and contact information with AWE.

I do not even have a 'W' in my name. I called Dish and they do not seem too concerned about it. Meanwhile I am extremely upset that this has been allowed. Dish informed me that I can call back in November to cancel my services but until then I am still under contract. I am very mad that they do not seem to be taking the forgery seriously. Is this not an illegal action? I looked it up online and it seems to be a common practice for them. Now I am not sure what to do about it. The chaos this has caused is very unfair! I called them back today. They will not give me any information on what is being done about this forgery. They say it is internal and private. This is about me and my signature!! I should get some closure. Isn't Forgery a felony? They did say they are making the contract void but I still have no closure and still have to pay them through November! This is outrageous! I want charges to whoever forged my name. I see that this seems to be a common practice with them. How are they still in business?

DISH Network came to my home and installed both Internet and TV as a bundle. The technician gave us no paperwork to sign what all and did not leave any with is. It is thirty days later and I see their service sucks for both Internet and TV and called to cancel. I received FOUR signed pdf contracts and a bill for $989 for early termination. I opened the contracts and saw all were indeed signed but not by me. My signature is very distinctive and this appeared to be signed by a chicken. It was chicken crap for sure because on one of the four it has my husbands initials as RRM and that isn't even his initials much less his signature. I'm contacting the police, the FCC, the FBI and an attorney because this is fraud and forgery pure and simple. If any of the five hundred or so people who have filed similar reports on this site would like to file a class action suit against these scammers, please contact me at [email protected]. This has to be stopped. My husband called them and worked his way up to the executive level. They did not apologize or say they would look into it. They told him it was a valid contract and if he had a problem with it he would need to have our attorney contact their legal department.

Srevice was horrible down a lot of the time on sdatelit tv and computer. We had a 2 year contract but they raised our rate.

We cancelled our service and asked them to send a list of the items we were to return. When we hasd not heard from them in 2 weeks we called again. They identified from our phone call our account and then said they did not have address to send it to, they had no problems sending bills to that address. They said they were charging our credit card 400.00 for the equipment anyway.

I have now done a google search and found thje way to return all of their junk equipment to them. I will have a disinterested party witness items in box and get proof from PO that it was mailed back to them.

Dish Network promised me locall sports, but did not have a contract to show sports in my area.

I cancelled after one day and they are charging me for not meeting my contractal obligations.

I sent the equipment back and they say they never received them, and will charge my credit card for addtional fees.

$1,000 for one day of service.

These guys are crooks and will rip you off.

DO NOT do business with Dish Network.

  • Aug 30, 2016

Dish Network is definitely a rip off. These a**holes try to rob u and take money out of people's pockets. They try to make any type of charge for anything and everything that they can. I had them for over 2 years, every time I would get a bill expecting the same monthly charge every month I'd have other charges coming out of nowhere. I finally got tired and decided to cancel. The day I cancelled and after being said there would no cancellation fees at all, when I asked twice trying to find out if I had to then I would pay then, and that if I was to receive another bill to disregard it I was sent a bill for almost $100 for my cancellation fee and pay for the stupid boxes they were sending me to return everything. Whoever is reading this, don't ever even consider signing a contract with a company that will try to filch any penny that you might have left and abscond you in a clever manner. I'll pay my fee but never again will they ever get money out of me.

We have faithfully paid our bill for the last year . Since April 2015 , Dish has not provided chanel 3 CBS . It is included in our package we signed up for. I am wanting to switch ,but I fear contract fees . What can we do to protect ourselfs before switching providers ?

  • Aug 3, 2016

Never get dishnetwork. They just screwed us out of a locked-in price where they promised all the movie channels. We signed up in October of last year and every three months I was forced to call all in and explain that the movie channel went with the package and had to talk to endless reps and supervisors. Finally, I get a rep in May that said I never had to call again and that the movie packages would auto renew. They didn't. I just got off the phone after escalating to three supervisors who said they cannot honor what was promised because that was their partner who offered us the package and they are not responsible for what they promised. And they can't listen to their original recording because it belongs to their partner. So today, three people at an unfortunate telecenter filled with wankers told me they would be happy to cancel my account for 300. With pleasure. I will never go to the cable companies. Turns out 92 a month locked-in price, for Premium Channels, was too good to pass up and too good to be true it seems. I'm going to Apple TV now and they cable companies can suck it.

  • Jul 27, 2016

Purchased a brand new home in Hampstead, NC - not yet on any internet provider's coverage map. Cable TV repeatedly insisted it would take months for internet service, which I need for work.

Ran up 30 GB on the cell phone network the coupld of weeks, then signed up for DISH.

Dish TV offers TV and sat internet service, and does an install. We ordered both TV and internet from Dish, and signed a contract for 2 years.

Internet is slow and repeatedly goes offline - and is unusable. I cancel the service after 10 days.

Dish holds to the cancellation fee on the contract and charges me $20 for the TV, $480 for the internet as a penalty for contract cancellation.

Cable TV shows up in the neighborhood the following week and I gain intenet and television the same week.

Cable TV offers up to $500 for 'switching' - I'm out $400 for he rest of the cancellation fee.

The ripoff is that there is now possible trial period with DiSH. If you DO decide to become a customer - you are locked into horrible service for 2 years - there is really nothing they can 'fix' about it.

DISH should be a last resort desperation offer when you are sure there is no other possible solution.

  • Jul 27, 2016

After 20 years I said goodbye to those thieves. Their price was extremely high. Called to have the package cost lowered, get a new deal or promotion and they only offered me a downgrade, with less channels and less service. I cancelled the service. They charged me an astronomical cancellation fee over 200.00 dollars and didn't do anything to me as a long time customer. But robbed me right away. These people will suck your blood if they get a chance.

Signing up for Dish was the worst thing i could have done but what can you do when you have no other choice..I am sooo beyond pissed right now. Dish Network went into my bank account and took just about $750 dollars out without notification and my consent. Now mind you I didn't even have half of that amount in my account and they took it in 2 payments on the same day.... So not only did it overdraft my account but I got hit with 2 overdraft fees....ughhhh....then I had an automatic payment for my insurance go in and that got me another fee...thanks alot DISH...please if there is anyone that can help me with my situation i would greatly appreciate it because right now,i am broke and lost about what to do...this is just crazy that they can just do this to people...

In Dec 2015 and Jan 2016 I had 6 people that I referred sign up with dish network. And they did send me the xbox that I was to get after having 3 referral s. ( which I do appreciate). But the promotion said I would also get 5$ off a month for 10 months for each referral. I contacted dish 4 different times and they are now telling me I have to prove I referred the 6 people. Yet the 6 referrals are listed on my my dish referral page (which are entered by a dish employees) not me but they will not accept that. They also have record of the xbox they sent me but they are telling me I need to get the referral account numbers. Which is hard if you give a referral card to someone you don't really know. I even sent a pic of a screen shot showing the six referrals on their web page yet no credit on my bill. It was a great company when Charlie Parker ran it now seems dishonest. I cannot wait till I can get out of this deal. Just don't like dealing with dishonesty. Oh will gladly send pic of my 6 referrals to anyone. I thought this company was different but don't wast your time..

I wanted to share that I have a specific problem with Dishnetwork and their choice of internet providers. I have had months that I had 2 or 3 gigs of data left and turned on every download possible and every update possible and never even used one gig. They robbed me of 60 dollars in four days time per 10 dollars a gig and I still ran out at the end of those four days with minimal internet usage. When I phoned them, they said there is no way for them to track the data used because it was satellite. I think what they are doing to customers, especially those disabled such as myself, is fraudelent and should be looked into by the authorities. Why is it that the white collar people can take from the blue collar people and have no consequences whatsoever but if we do it than we go to prison. They get you by screwing you in a contract they know you can't get out of for years.

I signed up for Dish in late July 2015. Services was horrible. I had signed up for basic pkg and they had me the Latino pkg (I am not Latino.) Went through months of calling them, to no avail. In May I cancelled their service. I knew there would be early termination fees, which I was willing to pay to get rid of them. Waited over 2 weeks for them to send me the boxes to return the equipment. Today, I receive an email from Dish that says "THANKS FOR MAKING A PAYMENT". I checked my bank account and they had drained my account AND put me $338.00 in the hole!!!!! When I called them, they said too bad. It's in the contract that we can debit the account you have on file even if you don't authorize it!! Now I have NO MONEY, have a negative checking account balance with no means to even buy gas to go back and forth to work or buy food for the next two weeks, which is when I get paid again. How can this be legal? SHAME on you Dish! I'm going to file complaints with every agency I can to make sure the word gets out how vile, dirty and underhanded your company is.

DISH Network does not provide the service they promote and even the President of the company showed no considration on how I was treated by his departments on three no shows by his technician department. He instead put me against a wall by stating we have canceled your service with the 300.00 disconnection fee or I can turn back on and setup another technician appointment. What was I suppose to do that point? Here is the story of bad service: Our hopper and joey keep losing signal and you have to turn the box off three or four times to change the channel if the box is recording. We had to turn off the auto primetime recording or we couldn't watch tv. I received calls from DISH that they see the problem on their side from reports. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 had appointment 8-12 at 11am got an email that it had to be cancelled. Rescheduled on Saturday, May 14, 2016 and they are suppose to call an hour prior to arrival. No phone call and I called them around 4:15 and said I have no call. Put me on hold and came back said the technician said he called and no one answered. Which is a lie because I had my phone the whole time and I checked my number under appointment and it was listed correctly. Blew up like a monster and the operator said he would give me a one time $30.00 credit, 2.00 off the outdoor package and 10.00 off bill for 6mos. Rescheduled appt to Thursday, May 19, 2016 8-12pm. Call them at 12:30 no phone call they say the appointment does not show up. Get supervisor told him to talk to the operator I had on Saturday he will remember. Comes back on the line and says I talked to the operator and then our technician dept and they didn't follow procedures. The appointment got cancelled but they never contacted us to notify you. I said then I want out of my contract with no fee. Talk to a lady in that dept. She says I can do $20.00 off for 6mos. I said the guy on Saturday offered me discounts. She says I only have the 30.00 credit and nothing else. I state again I want out of my contract with no fee since all you do is false promises. Then get transferred to her supervisor and same thing. Then I get transferred to the president and I explained above of his game. I have felt like such a number and nobody. They showed they do not care about service. The president did say they take complaints and I said I want to file three: customer service, technician dept and your contract dept.

I call 2 days later and for the next 2 months try to return their equipment Now they trying to collected for service they didn't provide

I called on advertisement didn't get what was advertised tech came out told me to sign his cell phone showing that he was here later Dish claimed that I had excepted their contract never saw a contract I call 2 days later and for the next 2 months try to return their equipment Now they trying to collected for service they didn't provide.

I had so many with service like when storm come will lose service for hours, they would remove channels, they would have paying for charges that you was not aware of and so I was happy when the contract had ended. But I thought would be easy to get rid of the equipment but no they charge me a fee a month that it should close, they charge $15 shipping fee,. This upset me because they have gotten 2 years of my money and you charge me for a installation fee in beginning so that should been rewarded back to me but you charge me. Also i call week later to see if they could remove the equipment out of my yard and got the run around and finally after given up I call back months later to see when could I get them to remove it. The first time she told me they stop and no longer do that anymore. What do you mean I have to pay to remove these live wire under the grounds of yard. No! No! When did all stop that this your stuff I reply.

She continue to say to I am sorry and I told her when it stop should would not answer so I said since you can't maybe your supervisor and I told her it was not told nor it was not in the contract that the customer were responsible for the removal. She told that her supervisor was not there and she is sorry! I told her I would seek our lawyer because I don't have the money to remove their property. If not the contract then why aren't removing thing out! I believe they needs to be responsible for removing this equipment.

I am having a issue with the Dish Net Work company pulling up the equipment in my yard, when it was not told to me or it was not in the contract that the customer were responsible to pulling it up.

WhenI cancelled my cable and internet service today, after months, and months of calling and complaining about the service, AND after speaking to a representative named Gabrielle, a supervisor named Leo (ID P1J), and someone in the corporate office named Melanie (ID LKS), instead of canceling my service, they spent 33 minutes trying to sell me even more products. No one cared that I have been a dissatisfied PAYING customer for months. All they were interested in was keeping me as a customer, and selling me more stuff. This company is the worst. Instead of understanding my frustration, I was met with anger, and kurt responses when I didn't want to stay on as a customer. Melanie even tols me she would eliminate my internet cancellation fee if I stayed on, and when I didn't. she tacked it right back on the account balance. It's shameful how they cheat customers and they should be stopped. I'm seeking legal action against the company because of the stress I've had to endure these past months.

When signing up for dish I was assured that the service was great and would be plenty of internet service for our family, even after I told the rep how many people lived in our house and all the devices we used. They lied. Every. Single. Month. we had slow or no data at all, which altered our television experience and made using the internet impossible. I'm an online student, my husband uses the internet for ministry, our children have cell phones. Because of the lack of internet each month, our cell phone bills skyrocketed. We paid extra money every month to DISH to "buy" more internet and to Verizon to add data or for overage charges because we had NO internet to use at home.

For 8 months I dealth with this but when we had to cut grocery and other bill money simply to use the internet for homework, I knew I had to leave. I think the company knows its service is horrible, which is why instead of making their products better, and training their reps to tell people the truth, they make lofty claims about ALL the internet you'll have to use. Once I called and complained (after spending another $20 to buy more internet), and the rep tols me to use my internet during off-peak hours, between 2am and 8am (I think). I was furious and confused. What kind of company makes these kinds of demands of its customers. Every month they were paid, without fail. And every month I either had to order more internet, or pay for internet I couldn't use because it was gone after we streamed one movie for the month.

This company is pitiful, and should be investigated for fraud, and deceptive behavior towards its customers and stakeholders.

I have been a dish customer for four years with no problems, However, after moving to anothe state, I included the internet package as well. I was sure this would be a good deal and receive great service, along with my TV programming. I was wrong... After 2 months and the highest upgrade possible for internet service, I have a crashed computer, exceeding my limits within the first 2 weeks, WITHOUT streaming movies or playing games on the internet, and now my programs for my laptop aren't working properly because the service keeps cutting in and out while trying to download critical updates. I called to complain and get it taken off, I was told that I will have an early termination fee of 385 dollars and an additonal 10 per piece of equipment for return. I asked to speak to a manager, was put on hold, then hung up on.. Second attempt, same song and dance, hung up on me.. Third time, i cancelled everything and now I am going with another provider with more reliable service. This is internet is a joke and should never be purchased. I will not have anything good to say about Dish, and I will make it my mission in life to spread the word about the fraudulent services. If I know anyone who has Dish, I will suggest they get rid of them immediately and go with a better provider because Dish is the worst.

Dish network is a fraudulent, negligent, incompetent, syndicate of thieves. They raise your rates without warning, and bill you two to three months in advance sometimes and terminate your service every opportunity they get. The biggest scam they work however is their contract breaking fee. For three months I talked to at least 10 representatives from that company, explaining my situation and asking what I can do to get mt acct back in order, and service turned back on. I explained I was in a rough break up, lost everything, and was fighting to get caught up on things, and they seemed sympathetic with my situation. They told me, dont worry, we had to terminate your services but you can have them restored once you back on your feet. Rep for rep, time after time, I was slowly approaching a surprise early termination fee that was contractual, however never brought to my attention. They told me each time I called not to worry that I was not being charged anything.

Then I wake up one morning to a bunch of overdraft fees, and denials in my bank acct. They took the termination fee. I called that morning to ask why an unauthorized charge was deducted from my acct, and demanded payment back. I was told by the rep I spoke with not to worry, funds would be refunded within 24 hours. 24 hours pass, no refund, it gets better. I call Dish and speak to a rep who tells me they sent me an email three months ago explaining early termination. An email that I never received. They also admitted they messed up when they seen in phone records and other correspondence that out of at least ten reps I spoke to, not one mentioned an early termination fee may apply if I didnt rectify my services. They deliberately misinformed me, admittedly lied to me, and took a fee for early termination fee without once personally notifying me. This may be legal bc of the contract, but its still a sly, cowardly, deceptive and erroneous business practice that ignores the fundamentals of decent business practice, its counter productive to their supposed precious clientelle, and disregards the ethical and moral regards of customer retention. Its bogus, and I will tell every single person I know that this is how they deceptively do business.

  • Mar 8, 2016

I couldn't find my initial report to update. It was too lengthy to repeat the whole thing. I have had dish service for 20 months and couldn't find anything good to say about it at all. They lied, sold me equipment i never needed, tried to get me to pay for their faulty equipment, never had service when it rained or the wind blew and start you over on a new 2 year contract if you remove the extra service they told you that you had to have when it was installed and you later found you never used it.

Then had a problem with the internet service and found an alternate provider and cancelled their internet only. The next month i had a reduced bill which included the internet early cancel penalty. The very next day i was billed again for someone else's bill. I called many times, finally got straightened out and wrote a letter to the ceo at their corporate office which they never answered either. The above is the past and only a slight overview. I've left out all the horrific details.

So-o-o, today they cut off my tv service again for non-payment. I called and asked them to look at my bill and read it to me. Oh my goodness... It says no payment due...$100 credit. I asked what did i owe if they owed me. He said $143. I said that was th double billing that wasn't my bill and with much stress, time and irratation, it had been corrected. He said nothing and didn't offer to get the service back on. I told him that this is once more a dish error and that he can just leave the service off this time but don't even think he can try to bill me an early cancel penalty.

I plan to send another letter to their corporate office stating that any attempt to send this to a collection agency and ruin my credit will result in a sizeable law suit. My sister cancelled her service and when someone else put in service at that old address, they took his bill and deducted it from her checking account. She later found out that person had also paid his bill. They seem to make a habit of double billing errors. I'm beginning to believe it is intentional just to see how much they can get by with. That's why i said are they just stupid or cunning.

After owning our own equipment for 18 years, we were contacted by Dish and told our paid for equipment was obsolete and we would need to begin renting a receiver from them. Our equipment still worked fine but they were doing a security upgrade and our old receiver wouldn't work with the new card.

We told them we would not rent equipment from them. We bought our receiver and it worked fine. They said they would no longer be able to provide service unless we rented equipment. We said we don't rent equipment. We will no longer use your service unless you replace our equipment free of charge. We have NEVER had a contract with Dish.

Long story short, guy comes out to do the install for our replacement equipment, whips out his contract agreement. We refuse to sign. Tell him to take the equipment, we aren't signing. He gets Dish on the line and they apparently tell him to just get us to sign the acknowledgement of install paper because it says on that paper that we agree to the customer service contract. My husband and I own a small business. I am appalled at how we have been treated as customers.

Do not believe what you are promised by Dish. And if you are contract averse and do not "rent" equipment, do not sign anything with Dish. So, over a $20.00 early termination fee, Dish treats us like *** after literally 20 years of being their customer. It isn't the $20.00 obviously. It is being lied to after we were adamant about what we were and weren't willing to do to have the service.

FYI We have since upped our internet speed and subscribed to Hulu (month to month) we own our Roku box.And we get tons of stuff to watch free from the library.

So you call dish, and all they want is to repeatedly run your credit to tear down your score.

You go online because you cant understand people from another country and order, you pass the credit chech

k, and are approved for zero deposit. zero install charges, and before you agree to terms of service all of a sudden there is a charge of $53.50 for the boxes.

After talking to 25 different people over a period of 2 hours you finally get frustrated and tell them to cancell the service.

Now what they don't tell you is that they take your money right then, and you have to wait 7-25 days to get it back.

The website never gives you a chance to opt out of auto e-pay either.

With approved credit, you should not have to pay an activation charge thats not listed anywhere, and you should at least be able to speak with someone in america.

Its a fluke, and no wonder they are begging for customers.
