I had a customers aircraft voltage regulator fail after about 5 or so hours of use. Even though I did not install the unit I had to troubleshoot the failure. I have had good experiences with Zeftronics in the past so this experience is just blowing my mind. After using a troubleshooting guide and taking various electrical readins from wires it was determind by Vinnie, at Zeftronics, that the unit was bad. I sent the unit in and it took several times of calling Zeftronics in order to get anyone on the phone or to return my call. Finally, I was told that the wiring in the aircraft or the aircraft generator had caused the failure. I was taken back because I had used the troubleshooting guide that was sent to us by Vinnie at Zeftronics and after giving all the findings to Zeftronics nothing was said about the airing on the aircraft or the aircraft generator being an issue, only that trhe unit had failed. I asked Vinnie how he could determine bad wiring or a bad generator without even seeing the aircraft and he would not give an answer. I explained that we had already checked the wiring and the generator and there are no shorts or issue with the wriing and the generator was also bench tested and was operating normally. Since then I have left four voice mails and have not gotten a return phone call. I cannot even get Zeftronics to return the item we sent them. They will not honor their warranty and now they have basically stolen our item that we sent them for warranty work.
