Brake and Rotor replacement: I had a good experience with the mechanic. However the parts were sub standard and did not fix the shimmy after 45-50 which is due to the rotors. I called to get this fixed and they were going to set an appointment to examine.. No I already had a person look at the front left rotor and then they stated the warranty was voided because someone looked at it....are you kidding me.
They looked at it to see what the problem was, did not work on it, never touched the parts because it was easy to see the issue on the rotor surface. and these people stated the warranty was void and they were going to send this to management...I told them thats the most assinine thing I have ever heard.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Your Mechanic..If an independent inspection voids their warranty you are screwed. Not only were they rude about it but they said basically too bad..If their work and parts were good, what are they afraid of ?? A legitimate company recognizing a mistake in parts or work..If thats they way this company operates , stay FAR AWAY.
I gave them every opportunity to make it right, including an inspection, but again they refused just because someone else looked at it... One of the most ridiculous statements I have ever heard because people get independant evaluations for everything.
I had a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo. The place where I live said if you had a nonworking vechicle you had to get it fixed or they would have it towed at your expense. That's what started this whole nightmare. Due to a previous bad car repair experience with Tiresplus. I thought it would be a good idea if I had a mechanic come to my house so I could watch him do the repairs. I did a mobile mechanic search in Google and that's how I found yourmechanic.com I requested a car no start inspection for 70.00 and a AC inspection that came with a diagnostic scan.I had a valve gasket cover replacement based on David's recommendation and he charged me 464.00 for that. It didn't solve the problem of my car smoking badly. It didn't work, as soon as he cranked the car up for another test drive it started smoking badly again. After I did some research online I determined it was a blown head gasket.
Everyone agreed online that heavy white smoke coming out of the back of my car was a indicator of that. I also asked for a inspection of my ac it came with a diagnostic scan and he said he was going to come back out the next day to check that.
It came with a diagnostic scan, but he never came back because my car was shooting oil out of the air intake hose into my air filter box and when he disconnected a hose the oil started spewing out when he turned the car on. I yelled at him to turn the car back off. He cleaned out the air intake hose with brake cleaner but didn't open up the air filter box at all. He then put in his inspection report that he thought that it was the seals that was allowing the oil to spew out, and your mechanic didn't do that type of repair and I'd have to a repair shop for that. I had the car towed to Pep boys and they were supposed to run a diagnostic, but didn't either. They came back and told me I would need a whole other engine for 5,000.00
They didn't charge me for the tow or the inspection because my sister let them know we had recorded our conversations with them so that's the only reason why they didn't charge us. They be trying to scam people too. I went back on yourmechanic.com to take snippets of the inspection report and do you know those batards have removed everything from under there? It's blank I have some of the stuff saved on my computer, but somehow the webpages I downloaded are blank. That's why I went back into my sister's account. Nothing is there now, but I still have the audio recordings of the conversations I had with the customer service reps and of course the bank statements where they withdrew money out of my sister's account for his BS repair. Yourmechanic is a very dirty business and the fact that they cleared everything from under the account shows they have no intention of making this right.
I had an appointment on Tuesday , 3/6/18, #2130151. On the previous Thursday, 3/1/18, when I booked the appt, $368.43, was taken from my account. They require a credit card to book the appt. Since mine is a prepaid, they took the money right away. On Saturday, an agent called me, he told me they made an error in the price that I was quoted, and already charged. Instead of the 368.43, the price was onlyvgoin to be $149.74. Quite a big difference. The agent told me he was preparing a new quote and initiating a refund to my card ending in 5329. He told me that it would take 2 to 5 day for the 218.69 to post to my account. My appt came and went. By Thursday, 3/8/18, one full week after they took my money and 5 full days after I spoke with the agent regarding this situation, still nothing posted. I sent an email and created a help request , #185870 , to the company.
The response I got was less than satisfactory. I was told " it is under review and the my request had been closed” The next day I then phoned 3/9/18 at approx 10 am. Again being told I was " under review and there was nothing she could do for me”. I asked to speak to a manager, I was denied. She said one would call me back within 24 o 48 hours. The run around again. It has now been over 48 hours, 10 days since they took my money, 8 days since I was told it would be refunded. I have sent an additional 3 to 4 emails. Nothing, no response and no money. I was charged for auto repairs, the amount taken from me was not correct. I did not receive that monetary worth inrepairs or service. Isn’t that called fraud? Being ignored and given the run around, while trying to get this resolved, isn’t that what scammers do? I will also be contacting corporate head quarters and registering a complaint there.
The owners might be interested to know about this scam. Hopefully they are not involved and this is just a select person or group perpetrating this fraud and stealing money from customers. This has hurt me financially a great deal. My kids are hungry and I have no money for groceries because they lied and stole it from me. I will talk to the press and register complaints with any state and regulatory official that I can. They shouldn’t be allowed to run a business, how many other victims are there? I want my money back, the money they fraudulently obtained from me.
I was threatened by the mechanic & overcharged for labor services on a car repair! The mechanic that works for Your Mechanic as a contractor. First of all, he kept rescheduling appointments, called me 5 minutes before the scheduled time & try to reschedule the appointment, showed up an 1 1/2 late and then charged me for two hours of labor after only working on my car for 45 minutes after threatening me after I suggested that he should call the company because i did not agree with the charges of labor!!!! Under the suggestion/recommendation of a customer service representative by the name of Walter (prior to this last appointment/reschedule) told me to time him & that I shouldn't have to pay for 2 hours of labor when the mechanic does on one hour of work!
I timed the mechanic hel called me on 11/1 Plus the mechanic out of is own mouth on the 25th of October told me that he would have to pick up the part & that it would only take an hour to put in my car! The mechanic also told me that he would be back the next day early in the morning to take care of the repair! the mechanic did a no show and rescheduled the appointment again! I called the company & alberto (customer service representative - Your Mechanic) patronized me every time that I called! I felt very insulted and that my complaints weren't even taken into consideration! I have filed a report with the BBB with my documented proof of every incident. I have been a long standing dedicated customer for years and I have never been treated like this before with this company! I will make sure everyone knows that this place is a ripoff and treats their customers unfairly!!!!
Yourmechanic.com came to inspect grinding clutch noise and told me my car needed a new clutch but the company didn't provide those services, however, the mechanic said this is normal and his supervisor would authorize him to perform the job at his home. He said their towing company would pick the car up and that same day and have it fixed within a day. The mechanic came the same day and picked up my car and called and told me it was only a clutch plate that needed to be fixed and instead of $800.00 it would be a couple hundred bucks cheaper. The car broke 8 months later with the same problem as before and the mechanic had indicated the parts were brand new from Kia and that yourmechanic.com's warranty was one year. I called the company to get them to fix my car and they told me they could not find a service order for repairs (only the estimate) for $70.00. When explaining to them more, I was told that the mechanic (Kyle) was no longer working for them because he was caught doing side jobs and the warranty is not covered since I did not pay through yourmechanic.com. This is someone that they sent to repair my car and somehow I am responsible for their bad hiring choices. My car is broken down in front of my house and has been for the last 30 days. I am a single working mother and spent over 570 dollars to repair my car that is now broken again.
YourMechanic.com provided service on my truck. I was charged a $70 inspection fee and a $291 repair fee. The purported repair did not fix the problem.
I initially called YourMechanic for a problem with my truck. A Mechanic came out and diagnosed a spark plug problem, and I was charged $70 inspection fee.
The following day, the Mechanic changed the spark plugs and charged me $291 for the repair work. I requested the credit of the $70 towards the work total as had always been done in the past. The Mechanic informed me the company was no longer crediting the inspection fee to the work total and that the phone representative should have disclosed this to me at the time of booking the inspection. The mechanic agreed not to close the invoice until I could contact YourMechanic about the billing issue. When I did contact the company, I was told that the new policy appeared on their website; however, as I told them, I did not book through the website, but rather by telephone and was therefore not put on proper notice of their changed billing policy that was less than one month old.
Worse than the billing issue, was the fact that the same problems I had called about initially remained (i.e. the truck was misfiring, there was significant hesitation on acceleration from a stop and the RPMs were bouncing around with the misfires, causing near stalling conditions. The same day as the repair, I notified YourMechanic in writing that the "repair" had not worked. I received no response. The following day, I called YourMechanic and made my complaint to a customer service representative. The rep informed me that I would have to make a formal Warranty claim and sent me an e-mail detailing all of the documents and pictures they would require. I submitted all of the requested items and a "warranty inspection" was scheduled.
I was present during the inspection and the mechanic doing the inspection determined that while the spark plugs had been replaced, at least one, and possibly more, ignition coils (the wires connecting the spark plugs to the motor) were not connecting properly to the plugs resulting in the misfiring. The inspecting mechanic stated that this was something that would be obvious to, and should have been picked up on by, any mechanic changing the spark plugs. He also confirmed that the damage to the ignition coils could not have occurred after the changing of the plugs. The inspecting mechanic submitted his report and I have followed up both in writing and via telephone at least ten (10) times in the twelve (12) days since the inspection. Each time I get put off and no decision on an issue that is clearly covered under the warranty has been made and I have been without the use of my vehicle for over 2.5 weeks while YourMechanic continues their practice of delay and deny.
Coincidentally, the day I filed a report with BBB, YourMechanic made a determination that despite the fact that their own inspecting mechanic had stated the problem was a faulty ignition coil, they believe my problem stemmed from a "pre-existing oil leak" from the gasket seal. This was something that was never mentioned to me or suggested as a repair. Now YourMechanic is charging me an additional $70 for the "warranty inspection" and had the nerve to send me a quote for the repair of the ignition coils!
The diagnosis was clearly incorrect as the problems with my truck remain. Thus, the $70 inspection fee should be refunded. The repair work associated with the improper diagnosis (i.e. replacement of the ignition coils), per the warranty, should be performed immediately at no charge to me and the "warranty inspection" fee should be refunded.
In my personal opinion, this company is scamming people by advertising that their rates ($70/hr.) are less than auto repair shops; however, when you add the inspection fee of $70 to their rates, they are adding the equivalent of an additional hour of work, when the "inspection" literally takes minutes. Thus, their rates are actually higher than most shops and delerships. Further, their warranty process is designed to deny all claims and rope you into additional costs for the "warranty inspection" ($70) and further work. Once this was all said and done, I paid $431 for a spark plug change and the problems with my truch have not been addressed. YourMechanic ignored their own inspector's report and recommendation in order to avoid having to redress the initial incorrect diagnosis and unnecessary work. User Beware of YourMechanic.
