In the winter of 2016 I built a new building for our company which included a little 500 square-foot office. I had chosen to do a clear epoxy sealer on the floor in the office. Steve Nicholson came out to look at the job. Boy what a salesman he is. He told me about how he would do everything, how meticulous he is and how I will have to tell everybody that he did this work because it would look amazing. We agreed and shook hands that it was a small job and he would be able to do it for $1500.
A few weeks later Steve and another person came to start the floor. He was in and out during days and evenings. When I saw the first coat of the sealer it was pitted, bubbling and uneven with areas missing epoxy. I asked Steve about it and he said this was only the first coat and he is not finished yet. The concrete saw cuts in the floor he had filled with clear silicone but had smeared it all over the floor. He did not clean the floor with anything other than a broom. Steve came back a total of five times each time trying to address the concerns that I had. Each time the results got worse.
Steve left the invoice for $1500 on my shop workbench I txted him and he said yes he was finished. A few weeks later he had txted and called me about payment. We talked on the phone and had agreed that I would pay $850 total for the botched job. A few days later he sent a local bartender over to pick up the funds. I thought oh well the nightmare is behind me. Until yesterday when I received a phone call from a credit risk company informing me that the remainder of the bill was in collections. I called Steve and he did not answer. I left a message and asked him to give me a call. I have not heard from Steve. It is at this time I would like to let everybody know that I also live in Mitchell a small town of 3000 people, where Steve also lives. I went to his house to see if he was home. I rang the doorbell and could hear that he was at home. I rang the doorbell more and waited and more and waited. After 10 minutes I thought he is not coming to the door. I left. An hour later I received a phone call from a local police questioning why I was there. The police said Steve was concerned for his safety.
From what I have experienced Steve Nicholson is the person who promises and amazing job and amazing finished product and that he is the perfect person for the job. In my eyes someone that makes promises and takes your money and delivers otherwise is nothing short of a con artist.
