Youfit Health Clubs Reviews

This gym took advantage of me. I arranged a two-month vacation to travel out of the country and let the club manager know face-to-face in June to please freeze my membership as well as my recurring bi-monthly $140 ACH payments for my personal training sessions. I gave the required documentation and I was assured I would not be charged at all for the personal training sessions.

After arriving in China, I found that I was not only charged once but TWICE. The first on July 23 for $140 and again on August 6 for $140. I made a very expensive phone call to Miami to speak to the manager who again reassured me that everything would be sorted out, but no refund was made for over a week. I tried calling again and was told that the manager would not be available to speak to me for another week or so.

The other employees admitted to it being their mistake after looking at my account in their system but provided no resolution as they didn’t know how to proceed. I called my bank to dispute the charges and had the money returned to me successfully, although I had to pay a $15 stop payment fee to avoid YouFit withdrawing money from my account again.

A week later, YouFit withdrew another random amount of $50 on August 20. I have NO idea what $50 would get as that's not even the cost of a training session. My bank advised some companies will charge random amounts to get around stop payment blocks. This is an unethical business practice that required my bank to open a new account for me and a loss of $330 total.

I was denied access to gym because I was wearing blue jeans when I went to the gym on Wednesday January 22, 2018 and was not allowed access to the gym. It is the new owners policy but because I never signed a contract with new owners I never knew this.

Just last week I noticed a elder man with khakis and a work shirt, and I have been a member for over 10 yrs and have worn jeans and other clothing besides gym attire without issue and so have other people. My contract was with a company called Just Fitness 4 U in Mesquite, TX. Corp off is was in Charleston, SC. They sold out to a group name YouFit out of Florida somewhere.

I never signed a contract with them. I signed with Just Fitness in 2011 and my contract with them was up 2013 and I have been month to month of $9.00 since. I never signed an agreement with YouFit. I am wanting to cancel my membership with YouFit but they say they can charge me a $75 fee per the contract I signed over 8 yrs ago with Just Fitness.

I called a couple weeks after I left the Youfit gym to make sure my membership was canceled. I was assured that it had been (after waiting on the phone for only a few seconds). I was impressed with how quick she found my account and could ring off the details to confirm my cancellation had gone through. This was a lie. I've received NUMEROUS emails telling me I have an outstanding balance. I'm going to call tomorrow to follow up, but I'm pretty sure these emails are from the actual company. If it turns out to be a phishing scam, I will reflect as much here. But because I have a history with this company, I'm inclined to believe this is real.

I went to YOUFIT on advise of my Aetna 'Silver and Fit' program. I was under the impression I was to use the gym as a work out place. I was pressured to join a Personal-Trainer Plan with a down payment of $110.00 and 80.00 every week. A trainer by the name of Cortney would just not take my 'NO' for an answe. She forced me to sign into the agreement. She and a supervisor by the name of Jim together worked on getting me to sign an electronic display, where I was to write my initials. I never saw the contract which they had on-line and the PC faced them! I attempted to speak to a Top Manager but they keep just giving me the answering service.

I am a senior citizen and am going to file a complaint with Aetna about this work out place YouFit. I am out of $110.00 and am on Social Security and cannot affort this. Please HELP!

My wife and I have not used the Lockwood Ridge membership for over 2 months due to poor attitude of staff. I have not been pleased at all with the lack of customer service from the staff. When we joined, I asked if someone could walk me through the equipment which I didn't understand and tell me how it works and which ones to use for what I wanted. The lady selling us the membership said of course we will. A monh later a You Fit staff person took an hour explaining to me how I could use a trainer and it would only cost $1,000 to $4000 a year which wasn't what I asked for. I again explained what I wanted. All the younf instructor did then was walk over to a machine, point at the very small printed instructions and said. it's all there and he walked away. That's a bad attitude for a staff person and I haven't erturned since. I went in on Aug. 31, 2016 to terminate my wifes and my membership and gave him our passes. The clerk said you both have to pay a termination fee in order to terminate your membership. He said after you joined they sent an email explaining the costs. There was no explanation given on canceling when we joined or I wouldn't have joined. My wife and I refuse to pay a termination fee which is nothing but a rip off.

I am former customer at YouFit located in Tallahassee, FL on Mahan Drive.I am writing to dispute some charges. However, the problem goes further than a mere dispute about some charges. I went to the Mahan branch, cancelled by son's membership. I asked three times whether this was indeed a cancellation. I was assured that it was. I found out 8 months later that I had been continuously charged. I found that I was false reassured that I had indeed cancelled my son's membership. The person at the gym did not inform me that there was a $10 cancellation. Because of that omission by the clerk, I was continuing charged for 8 months. I was next told that I could not cancel unless I paid the three months that I owed. Of course, the entire problem came to light because Costco had changed credit cards and the charge was no longer hidden in the overall bill. I paid the past $49.26 and $10 cancellation fee so that I wouldn't keep getting charged.

The cancellation policy at this club was not explained when signing up because no one would agree to such a ridiculous cancellation policy where you can only cancel by going in person to the club, put it in writing and pay a fee to cancel. I have not used the club in 2 yrs although continued to pay for an additional year, prepaid for 2 personal sessions I never used. They will not stop billing the card until I cancelled the card. Now in order to stop an evolving outstanding balance of 88.00 plus 10.00 cancellation fee, I need to pay 98.00, visit a location to visit with representative and put in writing my termination or they continue to ruin my great credit score.

I was so looking forward to a pleasant time but it was not to be. Too much went wrong.

The sign up was quick and easy and the gal was lovely and that’s where it ended. My first workout day experience was awfully disappointing.

My friend and I approached the front desk. Two employees were there. One talking on phone one talking to a client. Many minutes passed while we stood there. Finally I asked if we could get checked in but young man said he was busy talking to someone and other than that he never acknowledged us.

Question. Why don’t you have a self check in like so many other gyms?

Then young man said I couldn’t wear those jeans. I had to go back home to change. Why??? Are jeans banned?

Young man was not customer friendly and clearly not trained to be customer friendly as I was made to feel minimalized.

One nice thing happened when one of your trainers approached when I was working out and had me adjust my position on a machine. This was helpful.

Regarding your double door entrance; one side is locked. Fire code?

Employees at front desk are not customer service savvy. Front desk employees need to acknowledge walk-ins. We were ignored for too long and then treated poorly.
