1. Asked about how much it would cost to fix a TMPS system since the vehicle I was looking at had a TPMS error. The owner's son allegedly talked to a mechanic and he said that TPMS systems will often throw off an error message during cold weather which makes you wonder why all of them don't do it. But, of course, now it is warmer and it is still in error.
2. Was specifically told that a new windshield would be included in the deal. When we went to purchase the vehicle, they refused to do it. When I asked why, the owner's response was because the vehicle was not priced with a new windshield in it; had it been replaced the vehicle price would have reflected that. Upon further investigating, after emailing the sales person who told me the windshield would be replaced, she said because I had negotiated a new window regulator as part of the deal, they decided not to include the windshield.
3. The window regulator. It was supposed to be replaced with a new one. They kept the vehicle for 2 hours, and did NOT replace it, just put the window back in the old one. When it failed again three days later, I verified it with my regular mechanic who said that it is the original regulator that came with the vehicle, or at least it is certainly not new.
4. The windshield. Again. We negotiated that they would replace the windshield at their cost of $220. Made the appointment. Drove 1 hour to the appointment, they k new nothing about it. The owner made another appointment while I was standing in his office. Drove an hour there, they not only knew nothing about it but my wife talked to the people they contract out to replace glass. They told her that the appointment was never made. When my wife called YES, the owner refused to talk to her and instead had his salesperson talk to her. She told my wife that the glass truck had broke down even though my wife talked to the glass people herself. So far we were out two days of work and 175 miles and still no glass. They refused to reimburse us for their error.
5. The "bank fee". I understand I have bad credit, I just came out of a bankruptcy. I purchased a vehicle for $7000 (rouned up), they gave $2000 for a trade in, and I left a down payment of $2500. Final balance to be financed: $2500. The only way they would finance it is because the bank requires a "fee" to work with someone with bad credit like myself. The fee was $1700. This is called a "bank fee". This, folks, is how YES makes their money. This money does not go to the bank. I have the proof from the credit union that they did not keep this money, so it was not a fee charged by the bank. I am contacting the attorney general with this proof because they call it a "bank fee", and it is not a bank fee, that is misleading, false, and possibly illegal.
