Dr Yeo of Dr Yeo Family Dentist Group in Marina Del Rey said “black people’s teeth are so hard to pull. They hook into your gums. My friend and I were discussing it and we think it’s because you all do a lot of labor work”. I stayed cause I didn’t want to be seen as the very sensitive Black person. But then later her mother, Dr Rosita Tan said while working on my teeth “My daughters friend whose a dentist said Go to a N***** dentist, get treated like a N*****". I was in shock, I said nothing, but to make matters worse she repeated the phrase, laughed then gave me an example as to why it’s an accurate statement. I subsequently made the decision not to return. Their implants failed just a year later literally falling out of my mouth. I contacted them asking them if they’d fix it for free. They refused to fix or refund me. So I contacted the Business Consumer Affairs to mediate but again they refused in 3/7/2023. They stated they were afraid of their lives and needed police protection furthering black stereotypes. I haven’t called, text or shown up at their offices. The Dental Board is a joke and will do nothing. Lawyers say it’s not enough money for them. What should I do besides my Yelp
Review? Also they pulled my teeth , placed bone graft and titanium implants the same day; a week later pulled them out and put placed in Ceramic implants. I contacted Business Consumer Affairs to mediate. They refused said they “won’t give me a dime” then stated they “needed police protection and were afraid for their lives” to the agent. He was sympathetic but couldn’t help any further. I have never threatened them shown up at their office, text or called. This is a nightmare and I am traumatized. I’ve also had to pay for implants twice.
