We purchased a 2011 BMW X5 from Xcite Motors/Newport Motors or Kevin Truong. We test drove the car a couple of times and everything checked out fine. We traded in an Audi Q7 and signed the paperwork and left the dealership. Within the hour of leaving the dealership white smoke started to appear from the tail pipe so I called them and they told me it had been sitting for a while it just needed to be driven on the freeway to blow it out. I stopped by my workplace for maybe 20 minutes and when I left I pulled out onto the road and the check engine light came on and there was a loss of power. I called them again and they said to bring it back. I was able to make it back to the dealership and threw the keys at them and asked them why they sold us a peice of sh**? They said that they would take a look at it and fix whatever needed to be fixed. The next day they called and said I could come and pick it up.
I thought it was strange that they were done that quickly when it had been blowing white smoke. They told me that they reset the codes and that everything was fine now. I told them everything better be fine because I had already put an attorney on retainer and if I get a check engine light again I am taking it to BMW and they will tell me if I was told the truth or not. Needless to say, the engine light came on. I got it to BMW and after a dignostic check, I was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. I went to show the diagnoses to the dealership and they had closed shop and moved out. This all happened within 7 days of us purchasing the vehicle. So now we have this $20,000 BMW X5 that needs a $14,000 engine replacements and the remainder of our Audi Q7, that we dont even have. We are waiting to see what has been finalized with the paperwork and what we can do.
