My family is taking a once in a lifetime trip to Iceland...We found WOW Airlines and they had some great rates, one called WOW Business which included among its features a "big seat" which looked like the equivalent of a first class seat on other airlines.
Come to find out 2 weeks before leaving, that these guys took our money for the "big seat" but booked us in standard economy seats. Their excuse is "we had an aircraft change". This is ridiculous on several accounts.
1. I looked online after the fact and found out that these "big seats" are only on 3 airplanes in their inventory. NONE of which fly the route we are taking.
2. I fly enough to know that aircraft changes don't happen 3 months before the flight (which is when we booked and THEY placed us in standard seats at the time without telling us)
3. when they helped me choose the seats, they should have told me right there and then that there were no "big seats" I URGE everyone to NEVER fly this airline and to SHARE this post and let the world know about these bad business practices and let the world know what they do to customers.
This company lied. i had a flight scheduled. i called them and asked if i could cancle it or change the flight due to a family emergency. they said no cancelation but i can rebook. i said ok . i had another conecting flight that i had to make sure i can rebook the other flight. so i called expedia. they said sure and were rebooking me with new dates.
i called back wow air and was told now that i had 3 hours before the flight that i was to late . they couldnt book me it had to be a 4 hour window. which makes no sense, 4 or 3 hours . i was paying the diference and rebooking fee. so they refused and now i cant fly and i lost the other flight and lost 3000 dollars.
when i asked to speak to a manager i was told he was to busy to call later or that i had to wait for 1 hour to talk to him. they are very shady and they do not disclose everything. its a scam airlines.
On Thursday, 23rd June, 2016 my wife and I travelled to London (LGW) on WOW Air. When we arrived at Gatwick airport and went to pick up our bags we discovered that my suitcase had been badly burned and much of my clothing was melted and destroyed. We went to the window and reported this with the file # LGWWW10217.
I had to purchase a new suitcase for the clothes which were still ok.
I left the suitcase and damaged clothes at the WOW check-in desk as they had no office or representatives at the airport. Before doing this I photographed the damaged suitcase and each of the items of clothing which were destroyed. I estimated the damages and price of the suticase to be $719. I then contacted WOW airlines and sent them the photos and esimate. They opened a ticket for me #484255086 and sent me an email asking for my bank details and saying they would reimburse me within 6-7 weeks.
I sent the details and further asked them to give me and my wife free tickets to London as added compensation for the grief and anxiety caused by this incident.
After 12 weeks and nothing I sent them an email. No reply. I sent further emails. No reply. Today 10/21/2016 I contacted them, got the run around, got put on to the 'Luggage Department' who sent an email saying I would get compensated but this time it would take 9-10 weeks due to high demands.
It is obvious they have no intention of paying me and could care less.
I want every traveller who intends to use this airline to read this story and BEWARE!
I also would like someone to help and advise me on how I can sue WOW Air in small claims court. Is it possible to sue a company based in Iceland through the U.S small claims court? Any advice would be much appreciated.
