We purchased a blower/vacuum the end of last year, based on thier infomercial. On only its second use a poorly designed, flimsy plastic part broke that holds the bag to the power unit. They claim to have a 3 year warranty, but want me to pay over $25 for the whole bag, which is like new.

I guess if you refuse to honor your warranty, you can offer a nice long one. Their infomercial is highly decieving as when we actuallty tried to use it this year it is way too heavy and unmanageable. I first sent them an email, but had to do it several times to get a response.

I called them, but gave up after over 30 mintues on hold and then spent over 30 mintues chatting, only to find out they DO NOT HONOR THIER WARRANTY. Stay awa y from thier gimmicy tools.

Looking at the report from May 2016, apparently, it is this company’s ongoing policy to assist criminals. We also had our card stolen, and someone placed an order at this company of $259.11 on May 29, 2018. They refused to assist in any way other than notating the person’s account. Per the supervisor there, Maria Hartzel, it is their policy to not do anything. They won’t give any information, won’t report the person to the police, and won’t refund my card. Thankfully, I have a good bank that is disputing it on their end, but I also have to wait for that process to be complete. I highly recommend not doing business with a company that has a history and policy of protecting criminals.

I looked online to see which tool I wanted to buy, and chose the 20 volt cordless set because they also offered a multitool for grout removal. At the Worx website I was shown one Trimmer/Blower combination set and was advised that the tools were available at Kmart. I went to the local Kmart, bought the only Trimmer/Blower combination set they had and went home. When I opened the box I found the charger was broken - called the helpline and they agreed to send a replacement charger. A neighbor had a charger and charged the batteries. Using the set I found that I had bought a different model of the set - an older model. I emailed Worx and asked them to assist me. Long story short, after two weeks I had nothing to show, and someone had apparently canceled the charger replacement. I took the set back to kmart for a full refund. Kmart was not at fault! My only camplaint is with Worx. Every time I sent an email (five or six) it was delt with by a different customer service person. The corporate line was they were only responsible for what THEY sold - stores sold other versions. I have fired Worx, will never buy another Worx product due to their lack of customer support, and am totally irritated to have been suckered this way. I had no idea they had other versions as no mention of it was made. If you insist on buying Worx, be absolutely clear of the model number you want, and make sure what they sell you is the same. This is my first Bait and Switch experience. and I hope, my last. I subsequently bought Ryobi and feel satisfied. Ryobi also offers a multitool that uses the same power supply so Worx isn't the only one (worth knowing).

The WG168 trimmer was bought in June 2015 from eBay, new in box with battery, charger and warranty form. It was a shock to read "made in China" but it worked although battery life was much shorter than advertised. Because the battery also got very hot, that made sense. However battery life is much shorter when the battery gets so hot so it was the first hint of a programmed failure.

Less than a year after purchase, after a few uncanny and loud noises the motor was stuck. On inspection (as electronics designer I'm qualified) the magnets were lose, one was broken, some were missing. The "why" was discovered immediately: the plastic around the bearing (where the trimming wire is located) got worn out. The holder for that bearing should have been made from metal instead of from plastic because due to the large forces involved the event of the rotor hitting the stator magnets is guaranteed when using plastic.

Hence I am convinced that technically, Worx tools are designed to fail.

The only way a corporation can get away with that is a customer service set up to primarily blame customers and to use all legal loopholes available to avoid accountability. The Worx customer "service" acted as expected: despite the availability of all required serial numbers that can easily be verified, this corporation proclaims that nobody else but the eBay vendor is responsible and as could have been guessed, that vendor ( = Positec Worx) set up shop at eBay with a different ID, avoiding damage claims. Nevertheless I could trace him back and he wrote to be accountable only for the 30 day eBay warranty period. But eBay itself is guilty as well because it allows vendors to abide by a 30 day warranty, indirectly declaring a producer's 3 year warranty null and void.
