For those of you researching insurance adjusting firms, here is my review of Worley.
And although they are considered a catasrophe management organization, they do a lot of claims management for many different insurance companies.
I got interested in adjusting about a year ago. I saw a listing on Indeed for a multi-line adjusting job with Worley, sounded interesting, so I applied. At that time I’d been job hunting for about a year, give or take. I have a great education, so it’s not like adjusting was going to be something completely and utterly foreign to me. I even eventually took a licensing course through Adjuster Pro (another scammer company) so I’d be properly licensed for any adjusting job that came along.
So after a little wait, I heard back from one of the people in HR at Worley saying I needed to fill out a background investigation form and a few other documents. Wow, I was actually impressed and figured that was a good sign, that they were actively seeking that information from me. Surely that meant there was work, why would they go to the expense and trouble of hiring someone unless they actually had work for them.. Well, I was absolutely WRONG.
Well, after about 2 months of waiting, and hearing NOTHING from anyone at Worley, I got an email saying I’d pass the background investigation. And that I was invited to one of their “orientations” in Louisiana. The trip was on my dime, so I passed because I didn’t have the money to spend. So after that I pretty much figured I’d keep job hunting until possibly Worley had an orientation closer to my place of residence, which I had ascertained at an earlier point in time that Worley does indeed do.
But then after a few months passed, I got a hone call from one of the people Worley (which was during the same time as Hurricane Matthew) saying that due to Hurricane Matthew they desperately needed some emergency help. And that IF I would go to Dallas for their next orientation, that they would provide me with work, due to Hurricane Matthew.. I spoke with three different people at Worley, including Kenneth Wittich, and they all assured me that yes, IF I went to Dallas I’d be hired on.. No questions asked, any licensing etc., would be issued on a temp emergency bases.. So I went to Dallas. Cost me $1000 in air fare, round trip, plus another $300 in hotel..I get to Dallas and go to the Worely HQ, along with about 6 other people. Turns out, they too were there for the emergency orientation and for work.
Our meet time as 9am.. And from 9am we sat around the HQ all day.. We turned in our drivers license, for prior of citizenship and filled out a bunch of forms for the e-verify, which we all finished by around 11am. So about a total of 15 of us, slowly got asked to leave, that their e-verify was completed and that anyone with actual adjusting licenses and State Farm auto and property certifications would be called back for deployment within 24 hours.. By 3pm it was myself and about 5 others.. Still waiting for some information on how we were going to be issued emergency licenses etc.. Finally I asked Lisa, the gal in HR, what the deal was, when were we going to find out about emergency licenses and certifications which we were told would be provided to us if we just showed up for the orientation.
Lo and behold she told me, she knew nothing about that! Well, I pretty much insisted that she find out. Well guess what?! Turns out that it wasn’t quite true that those of us without adjusting license were to be given a chance at work, the orientation was for those already licensed and certified! So basically, those of us who had come in from out of state, there for one reason and one reason only; for a job, were all duped, we were all totally lied to! There were no jobs for us.. The emergency licenses were not going to be issued, because Worley did not require any further people to be deployed to the areas stricken with damage by Hurricane Matthew, they’d already had their allotment of people allocated, which apparently no one bothered to tell any of us before we made the long and arduous trip to Dallas..
After that, nothing came of it.. Not even a thank you for coming, NOTHING. What a huge disappointment. A total let down. I worked very hard to get a job with this company, to be actively hired, instead of just "hired". I have the skills, the licensing etc., and yet Worley has given me absolytely no income at all from being an employee.. Another scammer company!!! Avoid..

IIn December of 2016, I got a call again from someone at Worley, they were embarking on a new auto appraising program with one of the largest insurance companies in the U.S. and they asked if I’d be interested. Course I said yes..I was still unemployed at that time, and figured why not. It wounded like it had great potential, and that it was an opportunity that would not come along again anytime soon. Here it is May.. The program was set to deploy in the middle of February but got delayed for two weeks. Then it got delayed again, indefinitely. And finally it was launched on April 10th.. Have I gotten any work from it? NO. Have I made even one dollar from it? Nope.. There are a bunch of us who got suckered into this whole adjusting thing with Worley and we have absolutely nothing to show for it. If anything, some of us are even worse off than before we joined up with Worley. I don’t know what their deal is, but they have 30K on their roster currently, yet they keep actively “hiring.” And I’ve been an “employee” with them since October 2016, yet I haven’t even come close to making any money with them. It’s an industry for those with years of experience, not for the green, and if I had it to do all over again, I never would have gotten suckered into anything to do with insurance adjusting or Worley at all!! Waste of time, a waste of money and a waste of energy.
