I was contacted by Jill Harwood (linkedin.com/in/jillharwood) a "senior producer" at MMP and was told that they would like to feature our business or one of our competitors on Fox with Kathy Ireland. She made sure to make the opportunity sound exclusive so that I was working to sell myself and company to earn the opportunity. She also talked up the massive reach that this segment would provide.
The very same day she already had a contract in my email inbox ready to be signed. Before signing the contract, I decided to do some further research on MMP. To my surprise, I discovered that the company and the Word wide Business brand has nearly no online reach and not even enough internet traffic to register on Alexa.com.
What I discovered is this is really just a manipulative sales pitch for an infomercial disguised to be a great opportunity to get some quality press coverage.
Save your money and invest it in advertising that you know will have a return on investment.
For those individuals working at MMP, I'd like to tell you that Free Market does not mean manipulate people to buy a bad product. Be better than that!
Suspicious Communication & Aggressive Marketing Tactics
Stay away from this company: Worldwide Business with kathy ireland.
They are preying on small businesses selling the impression that they can provide 100,000+ exposure to your targeted demographic with NOTHING to back it up. The "producer" was very aggressive and defensive to any questions on the phone and came across as very unprofessional and not credible. There are SO many red flags.
For instance, there is no tangible information to back up her claims and just repeated that by gaining Kathy Ireland's credibility, the cost of $20,000 USD is somehow justified and worthwhile. You cannot find ANY credible information on the caller as they either have no Linkedin profile or an obvious fake one. I also investigated the client testimonials on WWB on their Facebook page and there were two outstanding reviews written by obvious FAKE Facebook accounts with 1 or 2 friends.. very sketchy.
The voicemail that the "producer" left on my phone was also very unprofessional. During the voicemail and call, she never even mentions her name and it's likely a fake name. She could not send any documentation to back up her claims or why $20,000 USD investment in marketing with Worldwide Business with Kathy Ireland is worthwhile.
I researched even more and found out some of their "producers" harass the businesses for not responding or rejecting them. She also kept pushing that this offer is only open to us NOW and to sign a contract ASAP to meet her apparent deadline. No offence but WWB is the one cold calling us so why would we be in a rush or under pressure to take on this "rare" opportunity? And further the "producer" was being so aggressive and saying if we do not act now, they will pursue our competitors.
She failed at convincing me this is even worth $100 of our marketing spend. What a JOKE! Stay away.
"You've been selected to be on Kathy Ireland Show" when I said our ad budget was $50.00 a month --the call quickly ended. (FYI I had NO idea who Kathy Ireland was --when Trevor Noah wants to interview me... I'm all his)
