On April 6th, 2017; contacted the 2017 Women's Expo Tour from their website they had advertising events all of the country, including Joplin, MO on July 1st, 2017. This was the never I was interested in. I text the number provided to inquire about availability of my company. The person on the other end of the text said that it was available. I was super excited because large vendor events book very quickly in my area, so I jumped on the opportunity. I chose the bronze package because it had a three event option with some very desirable perks, including advertising and prime booth location. I was immediately sent my packet via email. It was personally addressed and seemed professional enough. I didn't think anything of the fact there was no other contact until it seemed a tad too close to the event to get adequate advertising. I contacted, Ann Ewing on June 23rd, 2017 via email. I was questioning whether or not the event was going to take place since I no longer saw the event advertised on their website. She assured me that the event would take place. She then "reminded" me when I registered, she informed me that the hotel the event was to take place at, the Doubletree Joplin, was undergoing renovations and they may have to reschedule or relocate. I achknowledged the renovations and asked when and where would the event take place. She told me they were giving the hotel until July 1st to complete renovations and then they would reschedule. This made me very uncomfortable since the event was to take place July 1st, 2017. I then tried to contact the Doubletree Joplin hotel. To my surprise they are not scheduled to open until July 2018. I brought this up to Ann and she used very unprofessional language about the "rumors" I had found. She "warned" me of spreading untrue information about the event. At this point I knew I had been swindled and the event was a fake! She drug her feet from June 23rd to up until the day before the event. She then told me they were rescheduling for May 19th and October 6th, 2018 and that they would put me down for those events. She refused to answer any questions I had regarding the event or the hotel. I told her that I planned to seek legal counsel to file charges for their fraudulent event unless I received a refund. They will no longer return my emails.
