I had purchased a brand new Texas Ranger 396 SSB CB from the Wolfman CB Shop. It was overpriced, and I was told that it had a $100 tune up done to it along with $100 done in extra work done by Derailerd (Darrell Black). The radio was also missing the microphone out of the box, as Drailerd told me they swipe Mics out of the boxes. In other words I was being sold a used radio. The chrome case of the radio also had scratches on it. The radio only still put out 12 watts after having so called hundreds of dollars of extra work being done to it.
Also Derailed wanted to by Motorola Speakers from me for $40. However, Wolfman (cheapskate) said he would only pay me $15 for them. Derailed said he would have to check the ohms of the speaker with a DC voltmeter something that is impossible because speakers are AC.
There are numerous horror stories I have heard from this place, including hack jobs and bypassing relays in CB radios. These are all hack jobs. Wolfman may sometimes do ok work himself (nothing special), but his sons don't have the propoer electronics training. They do not know Ohm's law. $700 to fix a Cb radio I have heard, and $100 for a peak and tune and "we go up from there"
Anytime I have talked to the other son Daren over the CB radio, he always seems to have a temper and become enraged. He has no busineess in dealing with the public when he acts like that. He should not be in customer service.
They are not cheap nor are their rates reasonable. They claim to be a Christian Communications ministry, but being expensive is not a Christian principle. Being a cheapskate is also unchristian. They bleed over other channels on Channel 23 which is against FCC regulations. They blow out final output transistors in other radios by being so powerful. They also intrude on other peoples conversations and privacy by doing this.
