Buyer Beware of William Marcus Taylor of WMT Flooring & Remodeling (now known as WMT Renovations)!! In February 2023 we hired him to redo 3 bathrooms, 1 laundry room, and replace our front door and he quoted us it would be completed in 4 to 6 weeks tops. He started off okay but then kept giving us stories about how he was broke, his lights were about to be turned off, etc., and asking for advancements of payment so that he wouldn't have to take on any other jobs. We would do so, just because we were concerned he would take on another job and abandon us and each time he would tell us how amazing we were, how we were his saviors, etc., and then wouldn't show up for extended periods of time, or give excuse after excuse why he couldn't show up. And when I say he would not show up, I am talking about a new excuse every day, where he would literally tell you he was leaving his house on his way and then not show up at all, and later when we would call him out on it, he would provide a totally different ridiculous excuse each time. During this time, we caught him several times posting about working on other jobs at the same time he was giving us fake excuses as to why he couldn't come work on our project. After 8 months he fully abandoned our project and stopped communicating with 1 of the rooms completely unusable, the front door not framed in, and he didn't even start 2 of the rooms that he was already paid to do! The only room he did complete was shoddy work that will need repairs or to be redone once we hire someone to finish the project that WMT was already paid to do. And the rare cases he did show up, he would start the day at 10 am, 11 am, or even later, put in 3 hours, and go home. I've never heard of a contractor with a worse work ethic who didn't want to get in and get the job done as quickly as possible so they could move on to the next project. Not Marcus, he was fine having our house torn up for 8 months on a project he told us would take 4 weeks and then eventually completely abandoning the project for good. The bottom line is buyer beware of anyone who decides to do business with Marcus Taylor or WMT Flooring/Renovations as he ripped us off and doesn't seem to care that he did.
