We hired wisecracks Niagara last spring to do what should have been a simple install of window well. Stephane arrived, and somehow hand dug and installed a window well within a few hours despite the fact that our hydro, gas, cable etc. ran right through where the well was to be installed. When we questioned the job that he had down, he flew out of there like a bat out of hell, saying he'd have to come back another day to address any issues that we might have because they were so busy and he had to get to his next job.
We contacted the office right away to basically call them on the fact that there was no way that the job was done right that quickly and this started an over one year back and forth battle. The first thunderstorm we had the well filled and came flooding into our coldroom vent like niagara falls, damaging our basement which had just been renovated the month before. It subsequently flooded our basement 7 more times, and multiple times we literally had to have our children mopping and bailing out our coldroom while we used buckets to bail out the well outside.
Every time it rained someone would have to stay awake to keep an eye on the flooding situation, and wake the family up if the flooding got out of hand. Despite sending pictures of the full well and telling them about the flooding, the owner Blaine finally came out and blamed the flooding on some bushes we had, and said he wouldn't address the problem until they were pulled. After months of fighting with the company for them to do the right thing, they threatened to take us to collections if we did not pay for the well that was flooding and ruining our basement. We obviously paid, as we didn't want our credit affected, but once we paid, no one would respond to our calls or emails.
This was obviously bull, and we finally had had enough after the recent thunderstorms and sleepless nights. We called 4 of their competitors to take a look at the well, and they all instantly came to the unanimous conclusion that they hadn't actually dug a proper well. One stuck his cell phone in the drain, one a camera and two simply stuck measuring tapes in to show us the well was only dug down 20 inches. We were livid and immediately swore to never let Wisecracks near our home again. We immediately contacted their head office with video evidence of the flooding, and offered to send them more pics of the improperly dug well.
Head office refunded us the money within hours! At least their head office had a conscious, but they would only refund what we paid for the window well, and now we have thousands of dollars of brand new furniture and flooring ruined by this company!Run don't walk away from this company!
