I hired these clowns at the recommendation of a friend. That turned out to be a big mistake. They seemed very friendly and had a great sense of humor. They took me to lunch. One of them seemed to be a man of faith. Like an idiot I trusted these guys.
I hired Wise & Scott to correct four years of taxes that had been screwed up by H&R Block. This whole thing dragged out for over a year before Wise & Scott submitted my taxes. For some crazy reason Richard Wise kept insisting upon contacting my ex-wife who had a restraining order against me!
Only three tax years were submitted, not four. One of the years was prepared incorrectly and was returned by the state department of revenue. So really only two tax years were correctly submitted. They were supposed to negotiate with the IRS and Missouri Department of Revenue. I was billed for "ongoing negotiations with the IRS." To the best of my knowledge no negotiations were ever even started. At our first meeting Mr. Wise claimed to be a tax attorney and told me about a column he writes for the bar association, called "Tax Wise." The Wise & Scott website stated at that time that he was an attorney. As of a month ago his web site stated he was admitted by the Missouri bar. I became concerned when he said we couldn't sue H&R Block. He said I would lose in court because judges are stupid when it comes to tax law. I contacted the office of disciplinary council in Jefferson City. I was told that Mr. Wise was NOT an attorney in good standing as he had not paid his bar association fees!
Mr. Wise said he said he was going to get "innocent spouse" protection for me. He was supposed to get a lien off of my vehicle. He was going to negotiate a settlement and payment plan with the IRS for me. And he promised to investigate how my IRA had been liquidated. The only thing that did happen was I gave them over $6000.00 for some questionable CPA work. Mr. wise likes to say "I think we can wrap this up for another $500." Again and again I paid up. I have sent a registered letter asking for a full refund, and so has my real attorney. I have reported Wise and Scott to the BBB. Finally I reported them to the agency that licenses CPAs in Missouri. They are investigating my complaint. I had to hire another CPA to correct all of Wise & Scott's screw ups.
Go to Missouri case net and see how many of their former clients they have sued. Suit on account. Suit on account. Suit on account. They also sued ther own associate "Reynolds" out of the business!
After all of this garbage I was able to speak directly with an IRS agent and clear up everything with a 45 minute phone call.
