Wilson & Pettine represented me during my divorce in 2012. I was facing a difficult divorce, stemming from physical & emotional abuse. While arguing my case, Mr. Pettine secured over $70,000 in legal fees for himself to be paid by my ex-husband per court order. When my ex-husband defaulted on his obligations, Mr. Pettine sued me, the single-mother he had represented, for payment and was hit with an automatic judgement that led to a levy on my child support bank account of $21,000, leaving me penniless until I could borrow funds from friends/family. He most recently requested a bench warrant for my arrest with a $50,000 bail (the remainder of the debt is just over 15k, to put that number in perspective) attached to it, in the face of hospital documents clearly stating that I had undergone an emergency appendectomy while 6 months pregnant only days before the hearing, leaving me unable to walk, let alone drive. If that were not enough, Mr. Pettine then went on to file a Declaration for my ex-husband on a separate case. In conclusion, I have filed a complaint with The State Bar of California. Take heed and avoid this firm. My father was the Chief Judge for the Second District Court of Appeals for nearly two decades and believed firmly in the justice system. I believe his viewpoint would have changed radically given this information.
