I bought White Smoke many months ago, but I could not get it to work on my Mac and I never used it. I have sent numerous message to them to cancel my orders. I try and call WS but it’s a recorded message and they never return my call.
Yet, WHITE SMOKE KEEPS CHARGING MY CREDIT CARD FOR AN AUTOMATIC RENEWAL, I NEVER AGREED TO, AND I WANT A REFUND. I have called and left messages, and no one returns my calls. I have LEFT many many MESSAGE for return calls, No one calls me.
I have sent emails to cancel my subscription and return my money, but they keep charging my credit card. When they reply to my email it’s a BOT, that says thank you for filing a ticket and a support person will be in touch with you, but they never do.
I can’t get White Smoke to return the money they have charged me for fraudulently using my credit card and for past charges. They had no authorization to charge on my credit card.
I purchased a liftime membership from this company which specilizes in writing improvement/checker software. While the product is fairly goo customer service is practiaclly non-existent. They have a phone number that is never answered. If you have any type of problem you'l wait days or weeks for help via email. It appperas they resond very slowly on email. This company originally had excellent live service. It appears now that they must have undergone a headcount reduction which has killed their service. I've had a couple of occasions when I've had serious business disrutions waiting on this company for assistance. I will never purchase any version of this product again. I've previously asked for and never recieved a refund.
In retirement, I have been doing some writing. The spelling and grammar checker provided with Microsoft Word is limited at best. In July of 2013 I began using Whitesmoke, and I found it very helpful.
On November 27, 2013, I purchased WhiteSmoke Premium Expert - Lifetime Plan. I was given an activation code, and it installed correctly. Although I got an error message "WS Tray has stopped working in January, that was fixed, and I had no problems for the rest of the year until last month. My operating system is Windows 10, and although most of the time I used WhiteSmoke with MS Word 2003, I also used it in other places.
On October 12, after less than a year since the "lifetime version" was installed, WhiteSmoke suddenly stopped working and gave me the message "Your subscription has expired," which, of course, is nonsense. I notified WhiteSmoke, and I got an automated reply with a ticket number. I complained again on October 18, 20, 25, and 29, and I got automated replies and ticket numbers.
I have repeatedly called their toll-free number, but there is no answer and no provision for voice mail.
