Wheel City Auto Reviews

  • Jul 30, 2016

I fell victim to these people as well. I bought a car from them last year, mind you I have bad credit about 500 all across the board, maxed out some cards, defaulted on a big loan about year before and was divorced. With that said I'm sure some people can see where I'm going. So I move to beautiful Tampa, FL, took my losses and moved on with no credit from a perfect 700! So now I need a car to work cause the transportation is nothing but a good Friday night joke here in Florida, so I get google searching bad credit auto loans. A few places came up, wheel city seemed to be the one after calling the others.

So I head down there. Looked around on the lot for about 20 minutes before I was noticed walking on their property. First red flag drawn up. Any dealership sales staff is like flys on you know what !! Now mind you, there's 3 guys jump starting the cars, packing booster packs, another red flag right ? Now finally a sales guy comes out, it's about 88 degrees out winter Florida. He asks me what I was looking for. I told him I gotta work point blank. He shows me a few Chevys, a few mini vans and one truck. Long story cut half, I decided on a Kia for gas reasons with traffic. We go in the so called dealership, witch reminded me of a local bodega where I'm from. Plastic chairs and all. So we sit and discuss numbers, mind you this is a 9 year old car with over 100,000 on the clock. Long story cut short again, I take he deal cause let's be honest we all need to work right? High intrest rate and the blue book value was almost 8 less! So all paper work is done, down payment is good, now we go to the 331 pages of me sighing everything but my underwater away to a so called "General Sales Manager " witch was nothing but a fast talking middle aged man in the same shoes I'm in!!

So I drive the "Car" home and start looking at paperwork. All 330 pages of it( so it seemed anyway) and I'm reading a bootleg CarFax report, it's a generic version of the real deal. Come to the fine print they put a GPS located on the car. Another red flag right ? Why would they need that ? So I'm reading more and see the total cost of ownership in 4 years and I dropped my lunch! $17,000 for a blue book value car that's $5500!! Desperate times, my loss their gain. About 3 months driving the car I didn't have any problems with it. Until one day I'm at work and a guy there asked why the car was two tone, so I look at it and see the over sprey. So I get home that night and open the 330 page bible they handed me and in that generic CarFax report was a claim for frame damage. Next day before the rooster crows I'm on the phone with them. They tell me there no damage and the car was never in any accidents.

So I contact the original dealer and they have a total different story. Now this going on 4 months of having the car. The Kia dealer that sold the car brand new also had record from the original owner that it had been in a accident but not totaled. This is 5 now and ball joints are gone, front end shakes and feels like I'm on a skateboard.i call and get told I was passed the 30 days or 250 miles to bring the car back. So now I'm lost as what to do here with these people. So I stop payment through my bank for about a month. Now with out this car I have no job again cause of the transit system. So they get me to crack and pay up. So I talk to someone in South Dakota and she tells me to pay atleast half of what is owed. I tell her I'm paying on a car witch was in an accident and has a gps tracker on it that I don't feel safe in anymore. She tells me we will work this out and find out who is at fault for their mistake. So I give in, need my job and my kids. I go to the bank and get a check for them and drive back home. I turn the corner and see a tow truck in my driveway. In Tampa that's not anything new at all. So I get and ask what he needed and he said my car!!

Really? I told him to go grab dinner cause we're both in for a long shift! I get back in the phone and get someone else up here in moose country, his one knows nothing so I asked for the boss. The boss gets on and these exact words " what you need "" how professional right?? I correct her and say no it's how can I help u sir !! I explain to her what going on and she tells me I want the money over the phone and I'll call off the truck!! Remember this is a Referable auto sales establishment here right ??? I tell her I have the check made out to you and the car stays with me. She tells me again I'll call him off as she put it !! "Referable right "? Long story cut down, take the bus save money live better like Walmart. These people strive off low income families to make profits beyond reasonable. They take a $2000 car and make $12,000 off it. If your in a bind like I was at the time then you eat it but don't fall a victim if you have other options. They operate in two states, Florida and South Dakota and go under two different DBA's or LLC's. Read this through and think before you sign the 330 pages of debt!!
