Western Flyer Express Inc Reviews
This company started as a small company ran by the dad and son. It used to be called outlaw trucking then western flyer express, and now they have changed the spelling to Xpress to avoid all of the bad reviews they quite honestly earned! So where does one start? Let's start with the ownership: Son pretends to run company as COO, he gives drivers $100 at the start of every orientation class telling them that he doesn't want to see them broke, then over time with the company he charges them for flats, damage already present on trucks, and fines for late loads when it was the shops fault the truck was late when it was pulled in for a mandatory service. Then there's the dad: he is the "president" of the company but causes more problems than he does good for the company. He pays outsiders to stand around the shop and the dispatch and tell anything that is said negative about the company. He drives around in his Cadillac and spies on employees throughout the day and then when he sees something he doesn't like he terms the employees without cause. Then there's the vp of operations: this guy is a part of making sure drivers are charged for anything they can charge, his son also works in the shop and goes around belittling people, of course nothings done because its the vp of operations son! Then there's the vp of maintenance: this guy lies to people when they interview and are hired, have to get them in the door any method he is able to, he has no experience running a large maintenance program, the state of the trucks that are "brand new" attests to this as the trucks are constantly breaking down for poor maintenance, he pits his mechanics against each other and the parts guys against the mechanics, this really creates a hostile work environment, the guy shows up after 8:30am and stays till 6pm, then in return gives employees a hard time like he works 24/7. Then there's the hr manager: this lady has no professionalism at all she goes around on smoke breaks gossiping about everything that is said behind closed doors, she is rude to employees and acts like she runs the place, when everyone knows the dad runs the place without really running the company, then there's the shop manager: this guy parks his truck in between the bays so he can see if a truck or trailer will hit it coming out of the shop, he screams and cussing out new mechanics who know nothing about trucks for not knowing anything, if they want guys who know something hire them instead! Then there's the body shop manager: this guy and his mechanics show up late and leave early every day they get paid overtime where no one else in the shop or parts departments get o.t. they only get paid straight time, he is buddy with the dad so watch what you do and say around him and if you see or catch him doing something keep it to yourself telling anyone won't get you anything but out the door. Then there's the parts department: they never have anything you need, then if they order it it for you it takes days if not weeks to get, so when the parts come in there not needed because the vp of operations sent the truck back on the road because the vp of maintenance has so say in it, this company has went throught parts people, they want the place ran right but don't want the backfire of it being right, it's a running joke in the company on how long it will take them to run off the next parts managers, that brings us to the service writer: this lady does nothing but gossip negatively about everyone, every person she talks to she is bad mouthing another, then as soon as she sees anyone do anything she's right there at the dad telling all, her husband works there as well and is about as bad, this company had a lot of people who are married working together on the same shifts in the same departments, if you wanted to know what the company is like as far as culture there it is, as far as a typical day, it is high stress because the drivers just want their trucks in and out of the shop because they are losing money not running, from being charged for damages not cause by them, if they run over in the month they are required to pay two truck payments to the company leaving them broke remember that $100 the son that owns the company gives on the first day because he doesn't want the drivers to be broke? If your looking for work, find a better job, if your looking for loads to send find an alternative this was learned the hard way already by too many others just read the reviews under the old spelling express!
