Western Exterminator Reviews
I reached out to Western Exterminator to receive a quote for a termite inspection. Bill Mena from Western Exterminator came out and stated that I needed to fumigate. I hired Western Exterminator to fumigate my home for termites. Bill Mena from Western didn't really explain the whole process of the fumigation other than i need to put my food in clear plastic bags and that they would be out on 5/23/17. The fumigation team showed up, a company by the name of Your way fumigation. I thought I hired Western Exterminator, so I wasn’t sure why a third
party was doing the work and I wasn’t aware. With that being said, your way fumigation shows up around 11am to start the tenting process. One young Hispanic male was the only one in the house prepping the house. I leave three windows open in the house. The Hispanic guy prepping inside the house stated that I should leave the back windows open since the windows faced the backyard. Let me just state that I left 3 out of 4 windows that face the backyard open. Two of the windows were not that big and one window on the side of the
house that faces my next-door neighbor (elderly lady) was left open which was a pretty decent size window. I leave the premises and the first night of being away from the house, my home gets burglarized. At 12:36 am, my alarm company calls me notifying me the motion detector went off in the hallway and then again about 15 minutes later. Cops were dispatched but they see no signs of anyone on the property and they couldn’t enter the house due to the fumes and tent. First thing in the morning I text the inspector/sales guy Bill Mena about the
situation. I asked him if the company can go back to the property and check the windows to see if someone really did enter the house. After no response/delayed response he finally text me back telling me that someone will be at the house today to cap. I told Bill via text that I’m bringing the dog back on the property and that my husband will be sleeping on the property the second night. I also stated they need to notify me 45 minutes before arrival for three reasons, I have an akita that is in the backyard protecting the house, I wanted to take pictures of the tent before it was removed as evidence for insurance and police purposes and I have an alarm on.
I reached out to the company later that day to find out if they noticed anything suspicious. After talking to Gabby on 5/24/17 around 3pm, She said she would see about sending a licensee out to the property to take a look at the windows and will call me back. Never did I receive a call back from her. I spent two days worried about what was going on with my home. From what I was told on the morning of 5/25 by Gabby, was that a licensee did go out to the house and they did notice two sandbags by the window moved and that they could see into
the house. Never once was this told to me until the morning the tent was supposed to be removed. On 5/25 I wake up early to drive back to my house so that I can sit around and wait for them to show up to start removing the tent and as I’m about to jump in the car, the alarm company calls me about the alarm going off and that they can hear voices. Let me say this, per Bill, I was told to leave a copy of the key with the fumigation team in case of an emergency which made sense to me (which is how they got in the house). When the alarm company
contacted me about hearing voices over the intercom, I said dispatch the sheriffs, no one is supposed to be in the house per my instructions to the fumigation company. The fumigation company contacts me five minutes after the alarm goes off and I strictly told him, you and your men need to get off my property until the sheriffs show up and until I show up. I had three separate phone calls with a gentleman in a 20-minute time frame telling them get off the property and they didn’t listen. About ten minutes after receiving a call from the alarm
company, I receive a second call stating that the alarm for the garage door went off. I said the sheriffs are already on their way. I called the guy from the fumigation company telling him, I just got another call from the alarm company, why are you on the property working. He said, Oh, I thought you didn’t want us in the house. Again, I said the garage is armed get off the property. I told him to give me his supervisors phone number and he hung up on me. I sent Jo, my neighbor over to the house to tell them to get out of the house and backyard. Per him,
they had already taken off the tents and were about 75% done and my neighbor noticed the window screen missing and the window was still open. Sheriffs left because they hadn’t received the all clear to enter the house yet because I kicked everyone out of the house and therefore the Sheriffs left and was told to contact them once we get the all- clear to enter. I finally arrive and the tents are off the house and garage. He enters the house and I turn off the alarm. Right away I notice items were missing and the window that was broken into was
closed. I allow them to finish up and I start walking the inside and outside of the house. By this time, I’m waiting for the Sheriffs to show up again so that I can file a police report.
I believe that this was an inside job by Your Way Fumigation. First thing, when I finally entered the house, I noticed that the window on the side of the house was closed. What random bugler would close the window behind them? Why did the guys from the fumigation company enter the house before I get their and close the window? I had three windows open, why was one of the three windows closed? Suspicious….2nd, per the licensee and my neighbor Jo who talked to the licensee, it was stated that two of the sand bags by the window that was broken
into were moved. How does a random bugler know that, that side window was one of the windows that was left open? A random bugler would have moved several sandbags to see which window they could get access to. The only people that were aware of which windows were left open were the people that were working on the house. The young man that was prepping the house and opening all the drawers did look a little suspicious. I did get a bad vibe from him. 3rd, the person that broke into my home was in the house for about 15 minutes.
This individual that broke into the house, obviously knew where to go because all the items were stolen came from two rooms only. Your employee was prepping the house looking thru each room opening drawers. Of course, he would see what I owned and were it was at which is why they were able to take the most expensive items in a short amount of time. 4th, the neighbor in the two-story corner house from me had her home tented 2 months ago and the two story neighbor two doors down from me had her house tented a few months ago as well
and they didn’t get burglarized. 5th, your urgency to continue to work after I instructed you to get off the property raises red flags. Was someone from your company trying to hide something or throwaway any evidence? Suspicious….6th, When I walked outside the property the screen to the window was completely missing? Who takes a window screen with them after they burglarize the house? The screen was no were to be found. Did it get rolled up in the tent? Did your guys throw it in the trash? This is why I didn’t want your guys on the
property until I got their so I can take pictures. Now you tampered with evidence? I could have potentially got finger prints off the screen. The person that broke into the house obviously snuck in from underneath the tent. Who would crawl from under the tent with a screen in their hand and with a PS4 in the other hand amongst other items that were stolen from the home? Someone obviously took it?
To follow up, I contacted Western Exterminators on 6/12 left a voicemail regarding my BBB report. No one contacted me back. Called them on 6/16 and finally someone took my call. After chasing them down all I got was a sorry. I requested credit for the lack of customer service and all the time wasted trying to reach out to them and they said no. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They charged my card without my permission and had to submit a fraud claim on my credit card.
Western Exterminators told me that they used this fumigation company for 25 years and had no problems with them. Total lie. Looked them up and they had several negative reports against them on the BBB. They will do anything to not take ownership in their part and to pass things off as its an insurance problem. NO....This is a customer service problem.
