Western Dental & Orthodontics Reviews

I've been extremely afraid of dentist for, I don't even remember how long, so when I finally got around to going back the teeth that I had left were in very bad shape...I was told that I would need my teeth extracted then bone graphs put in (due to my bones deteriorating over the years) to hold the dentures in place. I was told that all that I need to have done (except the bone graphs and laughing gas) would basically be covered by my insurance. I was told that I could get on line to apply for a payment plan because the stuff that wasn't covered on my insurance would have to be payed in cash. So I looked but there wasn't really anything I could be approved for as far as for making payments except to just pay first then get it done, basically like a lay away plan. So I was just gonna pay for the laughing gas cause that's all I could afford and just have them do the extractions and dentures for me because that was covered by my insurance....

So the day I had the procedure done I had the money in hand for the laughing gas and add I payed they went ahead and set my up on a payment plan so I could get the bone graphs put in. Now when they were finished the explained what I had to do over the next couple of weeks no rinsing no smoking keep dentures on the first 2 weeks or so. Eat soft foods and gradually (when I feel I can) start eating hard foods. So I followed all the guidelines they informed me of and even read the discharge instructions. But for some reason I don't feel the bone graphs and my mouth still has not healed. My sutures all feel out and and I have holes in my gums. I'm constantly having to rinse right away so I don't get an infection. Not only that I had told the doctor I grind my teeth clench my jaw real bad in my sleep. So I assumed they would've have given or even prescribed for me a mouth guard but they didn't. The good news to this is that I never sign the arbitration paper due to the fact that I'm entrusting a dentist who knows what and how their doing and that their gonna do a good job. But I feel in my gut that something is wrong. Both myself and my stepdad are wanting to file a lawsuit against them but I honestly don't know how to go about it. So hopefully someone who reads this can possibly help me and my stepfather.

In november I went in for a filling, and a few days later, my whole face was swollen and I was running a fever. They refused to get me in for an emergency visit for over a week, and so I had to go see another dentist for an emergency root canal. They also caused a cavity in the adjacent tooth. After that experience, I canceled my contract with them as a result and filed a complaint with the Dental Board of California for malpractice.

Next they kept sending me bills for my contract, bills, late fees, interest. They continued to auto-debit my card for Services NOT RENDERED> they now owe me over $200.00.I would call and call and call and be on hold for hours at a time just to tell them I had canceled my contract and they reassured me it was canceled. Finally today, April (5 months later), I called again after receiving another bill. The supervisor told me I had to go in to the Redwood city office in person to cancel my contract. No if's and's or but's. This is ludicrous. The pain, suffering, frustration, this whole experience has been a nightmare. Never go to WESTERN DENTAL. I have filed a BBB complaint as well, and will go to every site I can find to warn people against them.

I went in to get my only tooth pulled. They told me to use over the counter pain meds when I told them I was in pain. Went back in a week and they told me that I need to have some gum work done that would cost me $375 I tried to explain I had been wearing denture for 15 years without gum replacement. They finally pull the tooth. Came back 10 days later and they tool impresions of my gum s for new plates. After 5 more visits I was give plates that 1. Don't fit right 2. I can't chew with them 3. are uneven in front. Told what do I want when Medi Cal is paying for it. Would never go back again I am using 1 of my old plates and 1 of my new to be able to talk and eat.
