- Discharged a patient for not cleaning her room (literally, they did not like her)
- Discharged two patients based on what another patient (currently relapsing) said to staff without any other evidence. (One patient kicked out had just refused to provide clean urine for the patient who then got them kicked out). Im not joking.
- Discharged a patient who had to be with a loved one overnight at the hospital (with documentation to prove it)
- Failed to discharge a very liked patient after relapsing (on premisis) three times. Finally they let her go after the fourth.
- I saw three staff members quit or get fired for giving patients transporation to work and other nonsensical things.
- Charged insurance companies for dates after patients had been kicked out of facility.
- They are completely misleading about the services that are provided. There are no medical doctors (even visiting), and the woman who was supposed to help with housing and job had no idea what she was doing.
All these events occured in my 40 day stay here. Unfortunately, many of these decisions were made based on these peoples insurance plans. The ones kicked out had less comprehensive insurance than those that stayed and violated rules cosistently. I have seen them put patients (who had not relapsed nor broke rules) on the street with nowhere to go while the therapist will just make recommends based on what the directors decide. Fortunately, I was able to have my sponsor help me out of the financial and life mess this place got me in and I thank God for her every day. (Two years now I'm clean and happily married and its' no thanks to this place).
This facility BREAKS THE LAW and needs to investigated and shut down IMMEDIATELY.
*Please, please make the right decisions in where your loved ones go to get help. Devin will say anything to get you to come, that's what hes paid for. Outstanding facilities such as AMORE or ATON have real heart for their patients and are not financially struggling like this facility. There are great facilities outside of CA too!
*Good luck and in your journey to recovery and a better life*
