This was the worst experience I've ever had as a customer anywhere. I purchased 2 Skar Audio 10" subwoofers and an Amp online. I took them to the Elk Grove location where I met Bryan (wish I never went here) and I asked if they could build a custom box in my 2016 Camaro. I was told they could and I left my car and the equipment there on-site.
When I got home Bryan called me and asked if I wanted "individual" boxes for each speaker and that they would sound better as well as look like "part of the trunk". What he didn't tell me was that it would take up my entire trunk and look like a giant nasty box just stuffed in the back of my trunk. In that conversation I asked if he could add lights and how much that would cost and he said he would put together a quote and follow-up with me the next day.
He was off the next day and of course didn't follow up. Apparently they just began freestyling whatever look and box they saw fit in my car, never once telling me how it would look, or that I was losing my entire trunk to this botched job. I called almost everyday asking for Bryan, Tuesday he was off, Weds he was in the Arden office. The rep in Elk Grove on Weds was basically telling me to get off the phone and Bryan would call me back whenever he got to it. I told him that was unacceptable because I hadn't been quoted on the new design we discussed nor had I been given any clue as to how it would look.
Bryan calls me back and says "I'll call you as soon as its done" that's it. I check on Thursday for a status update and still have no idea how its going to look and get the same dry response. Finally Friday evening I get a ride up to the shop as they have had my car since Monday and I have a trip planned that weekend, I got there about 4:30pm (this was after calling and Bryan saying it would be done by 7pm) I get to the shop and the work is terrible, just a giant box in the trunk, the trunk completely useless, no space for anything at all, completely dismantled and the car was filthy.
I obviously was extremely irritated so I took whatever work they had done and left. They initially charged me roughly 1300.00 and then added an additional 500 for the "individual" boxes for each subwoofer. I was not only ripped off for nearly 2000 to literally put a box in my trunk, but its ugly and has completely destroyed my trunk space. I would NEVER recommend doing business here.
Work and customer service is horrible. Wish I would have looked at these reviews first. Took our audi in just to get the steering wheel control working. Was quoted one thing initially, then charged way more when the time came. Then a speaker went out so we figured may as well take it to the same place. Next, the stereo we had stopped working. Not their fault, so got a new stereo as well... big mistake..! Over a thousand dollars later, we try to adjust the settings. Move the options to the front right, and the sound goes to the back left. Wtf? Basic wiring. Turn the sub up. Nothing. FM radio. Nothing. Take it BACK in AGAIN and they straightened out the wiring. Will test the radio when we go a little ways out of town. Still no subwoofer. Ask them about it when we pick it up and they try and tell us we don't have an amplifier. Huh. Funny because it worked before.
Open the trunk. Pull back all the carpeting. Bam. Amplifier. Imagine that. "Oh. U didn't tell us about that". MFrs. We want all the speakers to work. Correctly. The tall, heavier guy who I'm assuming is their excuse for the manager jumps on the defense talking about being professional. So I reiterate the whole story. Starts dropping F bombs. So again. I reiterate how " professional" this work is. As I'm driving away in the other car, a small Scion iQ (similar to a fiat) he yells how cute I look in the car. FU MF. Words were exchanged. Wish I would have taken it to a real Professional shop. IE Rolling Sounds or Paradyme where have had all the work done on my Scion and have had nothing but respect and PROFESSIONALISM given to me. I will NEVER go back here and I will tell everyone looking for audio work to go literally ANYWHERE ELSE. Why did we give @West_Coast_CarAudio a chance. I sincerely apologize to @RollingSoundz and @ParadymeCarAudio for going here.
