So here is my opinion of the monstrous, vile, crude and crooked customer service that I was hit with by this place on July 17, 2021. I am a black man who was on the receiving end of challenges to wrestle, threats of violence, attempted to being spit at, and being chased and harassed down the block by the mustached Indian cashier who was working this place on this day.
To put this matter into context, I was not the consumer as I do not smoke, rather my disabled white friend does and was the customer. I was merely speaking on his behalf. My disabled friend bought a ten dollar pipe from this place. Once we got back to the apartment, I set down the bag with this pipe inside and heard a crack from the bag. When we opened the bag, we were shocked to discover it was the pipe he got from this place. It had cracked from my simply setting down the bag.
We discovered that although it was bubble wrapped, it was rubbishly wrapped so that one side of this apparently wildly fragile item was barely wrapped at all. Naturally, we expected no issue from the store exchanging the cheap item, especially over a rubbish wrapping job.
When we went back up to this Cigarette Depot and asked for an exchange, however, the mustached Indian man working there flippantly laughed in our faces the whole time we spoke to him. His response was also to tell us how he wasn't going to do anything about it, be it exchange or anything else, not his problem. I told him how that's fine and I would be reporting the matter through online review sites. He followed with smart aleck remarks and told us he didn't care about online review sites and asked for the next person in line. I protested to him that his business and customer service were both bottom of the barrel garbage and marched out of the store, as he began screaming how he was going to call the cops on me (yes, call the cops because a black man dares to voice complain about horrendous service).
After I tell him I don't care about him calling the cops on my way out of the store, the mustached man turns psycho and verbally abuses my disabled friend. He then chased out of the store after me, barefoot and all, making spitting motions at the air and trying to spit on me out on the street. He wasn't able to spit on me as I was too far away, so he resorted to jumping up and down, hooting and hollering like a headless chicken, demanding for a wrestling match as everyone on the street was looking at him. He also called on onlookers to help him wrestle me. So apparently he wants to have a fight, but he also wants the police and onlookers to help him fight me. Ugh! Embarrassing and submitting this matter to the Better Business Bureau. Steer clear!
