On March 26, 2015, I agreed to purchase services with David Wells of Wells Financial Services LLC (Port Clinton, Ohio) for credit file help and facilitating financial lending. Per David Wells request, I sent a wire through Western Union in the amount of $1,250 (the total amount of fees on my wire was $1,311). Mr. Wells received the money and indicated that he would address my credit issue which would facilitate lending for which I would pay a percentage after the lending. The bottom line is nothing happened. The lending never happened, the credit file never happened, and I could not get in touch with Mr. Wells. I am out of $1,311. The services were never provided and I am unable to get a refund. After my experience, the word on the street is that this summer similar things happened to other clients.
In hopes of resolving the situation, I was able to get in touch with Mr. Wells for which he said he would prove the services were provided and send an email the next day. I never heard from him and I have not been able to get in touch with him.
Subsequently, I have filed a police report with Fulton County GA police (2015-014343), a consumer complaint with the state of Ohio Attorney General's office of Consumer Protection (#848840), Western Union Fraud Case (wire #7794800025), and Better Business Bureau Complaint with the BBB of North Ohio and SE Michigan. The local police force will be transferring the case to the local Port Clinton, Ohio to move forward with the theft by deception case. Stay tuned.
