On April 26, 2017 @ 3:58 pm I completed a phone call with Mr. Eric Tan, owner of Websitecenter.com. I spoke to him about changing my order pages & donation pages from a WebLink to SSL with more security & the older order page was not going to work after April 30th & apologized for not giving him more time by calling sooner. He assured me there would be no problem getting them completed in the allotted timeframe. I also let him know I wanted my 9 order & donation pages to look as close to the older pages as possible.
While on the phone with Mr. Tan he put me on hold to take a look at the pages & later on the same day, his wife, Mrs Trish Tan, VP of the company, emailed me a quote in the amount of $1,370,00. I accepted the quote the next day, via email on April 27, 2017 @ 2:09pm.
I am filing this complaint because Mr. Tan refuses to finish the work unless I pay him more money. Yet I had signed a contract with the quote amount listed above that is a legal binding contact stating that he would do the work for that amount. For him to ask for more money because he miscalculated the time it would take is not not only illegal; it is fraud and commonly called ‘bait and switch’.
In an email on May 18, 2017 10:31 am he said:
“Hi Cassandra
As I mentioned in my previous emails, we’ve already exceeded the number of hours allotted in your website package. The package was for the payment forms only not your web page design & layouts. Even though we implemented most of your requests on our time, the additional requests will be of additional cost.
To complete the payment forms will be an additional $340.00.”
I went through all the emails & only the one that said anything about ‘exceeded’ hours is the one I have mentioned above. I have already paid this man 75% of the quoted amount, as that is what they request and then pay the last 25% after the work is completed, which it is not.
I want Mr. Tan to complete this work quickly & correctly as promised & without so many errors that I have to constantly email him to correct, but are still not correct. Because the order and donation pages do not redirect to my merchant acct I am losing an average of $500.00 per day in orders. So for each day after April 30, 2017, the original date he said all the order and donation pages would be completed, I am going to bill him $500.00 per day. If necessary I will have my attorneys take care of this matter and I’ll submit the unpaid amount to a collection agency.
To this day, May 24, 2017, they are still not completed & in the coding there is no redirect to my merchant acc’t; thus I can’t take orders nor donations.
