I went ahead and built a few websites, their editor was sort of useful, but not very good. Had to add services to keep development going, then your not sure of recurring costs because renewel center doesnt list costs. Any costs listed dont show which web site they are related to. Also no way to delete services not needed any more including editor. DNS setup kind of spotty. Luckily I use temporary debit cards from Wal Mart when I am trying out companies I dont trust so they couldnt hit cards after awhile. I moved over to Amazon Web Services, it was a just a little harder in some ways but also easier once you know just a few things to do. AWS way cheaper, and easier to understand after small learning curve. AWS way more powerful, cant outgrow it like Web.com
I wanted to create a lot of web sites cause I had a lot of ideas, and needed some rather inexpensive, solutions. Thats always the problem isnt it, you get what you pay for. Anyway, When setting up sites, you incur different service costs displayed from them and as you enable them, they show up in renewal center, but without prices. Web.com asks for a credit card number of course, but you cant tell how much charges are coming in near future to give opportunity to cancel. Luckily I used a prepaid debit card to limit my exposure. I wont do business with anyone in future without using this practice. So now they are sending me emailas about failure to renew, and I would like to renew, but need prices, in an easy way. If I call them, they indicate they will send prices, but why not display them up front? They lost out on a lot of business from me, by being deceptive. One time, early on, I kind of liked their setup cause I had a template web site setup and running in about 10 minutes. Some of the services now dispalyed in renewal center seem to be duplicates or not attached to anything I did, very non transparent.
Web.com was hired to improve web visibility and SEO optimization. After 3 months of absolutely no progress or benefit even their acct managers (they went through at least 3 in same time frame) admitted to the failure. They were given written and verbal instruction to terminate their costly but ineffective "service".For the next 7 months they continued to bill my American Express acct. I became aware of it when my bookkeeper was preparing a tax report. At that time I rasied Cane and Web.com (in particular their corrupt finance supervisor Christine Rodriguez) continues to refuse to issue a refund for the money they stole.
This company has horrible customer care and service. The company is too big and does not deliver anywhere near what is promised. We have had zero results with them and yet they keep trying to bill us for services not delivered, this, after we canceled their service. Company communication internally between departments is terrible for the clients needs. Their sales department is steller ... Promises are wonderful but delivery is deplorable! i wish i would have checked yscam.com, like i usually do, before i signed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This company took my existing site, and re-worked it in software that no-one but them can use. Promising me, they would send me a hard copy of my site when finished. $1600.00 later, I received a disk, with propriatory coding that is work nothing. Then I start getting calls for them to assist me. I give them my credit card number again, and they overcharged that card by over $200.00 before I could get back and cancel the card. Now I'm without an internet site, which could cost my company thousands of $$$, and they have their collections people calling me because my card - which I told them to NEVER use - won't let them run any more monry since I shut it down. Three calls today from prople there willing to make a deal with me... every deal entails them charges yo my account. NOw over $2,000, and what I have from them is nothing. All lies, fraud, and manipulation of funds. DON'T TRUST THEM!!
WEB*.COM 2 charges on statement 30 days after the unauthorized charges from web.com. Their Page never worked but their charges work perfectly 5 years ago. I don't even have an account with them over 4 years now. 06/02/17 $37.88 - 06/19/17 $41.90. No authorization whatsoever. 1st get your money back thru any means(any), 2nd Close your card. Most these internet company schemes charge you twice a month hoping you don't notice until the end of the year where you suposidly have no recourse but unfortunately for them you are more than authorized for any revenge you care to administer.
I started trying to cancel my service in November of 2016. I was told that I was cancelled. December I was charged again. Called and again I was told that I was cancelled. This went on until February and I stayed on the phone until they sent me an email confirming that I was cancelled. Guess what I was charged 2 days later. I called and was promised a refund. The refund never came. March I was charged again. I called and was told I would be refunded fro 2 months.
That never happened. Now I was charged again so I called when the charge was pending and was told that it was canceled and would not hit. Well it hit. I was told by Candace that I would get a Refund. Ha Like that would happen. I now have my Bank involved and they agree that it looks like a Scam. Warning to anyone stay away from this company they will Lie an Lie and keep getting money as long as they can. The services were TERRIBLE too.
I opened an account on Web.com and the advertised rate was $1.95 a month for the first month then $7.95 per month for the professional hosting package. I looked at my credit card bill and I was charged $20.95 the second month and called and spoke to a person in billing and he said he is putting a claim in and refunding the $13.00 back to my card and giving me a free month of service and no bill will be due until March. A week goes by and no refund to my card then I get and email that my "claim is denied" so I'm sure the "free month" is gone as well.
I have to say that every time I have called web.com not just for this situation but others in support are not trained at ALL, they have terrible customer service and the company should be ashamed for not training their employees properly. On my first call in regards to the overcharge, I explained the situation to a girl there and she said no that's the right charge, and I told her go look on the website and see the $7.95 per month and then she was like "oh you are right", then after being put on hold and then she tells me the charges were correct again I hung up and called again to speak to someone else which is the person who said he is filing the claim, issuing a refund and a free month of service.
I am filing a complaint with the Attorney Generals office and the BBB, I will not be scammed out of my money.
Ive been a customer of web.com for the past three years. After thinking my service was om seasonal suspend i called to reopen my service only to find out my service was cancelled. My domain name in there holding company and not to be released for 35 days. I tried to explain the circumstamces but The very argumentive agent in the loyalty department wouldn't let me get a word in. I finally had to get loud and interupt her as she acted more like the enemy rather than a helpfull agent trying to fix the problem of restoring my service.
I asked to talk to her superior to try and ammend the service. She refused telling me that was not an option and she would have to put in a request all the while arguing with me.
This is a way over priced web service for what you get and the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE You'll get for the $$$$$.
I personally called, set up, and paid for services with Web.com. Upon creating my account and charging my debit, Web.com took it upon themselves to associate my account with someone elses becuase my phone number matched a previously known number in thier system.
After a short while (less than 30 days), things didnt go to plan and I needed to cancel thier services. Upon calling I was told that I wasnt the Primary account holder and that I couldnt cancel without the required paperwork. I thought ok, well thats not right at all, I called, I paid, I hired you, how can this be anyone elses account!? I then filled the paper work like they said and cancelled my account, or so I thought. After a month went by they were still charging me so I called again only to get the very same response..that the account wasnt mine!
Outraged at all of this I demanded that my account be cancelled and that I recieve a refund.
The operator told me that we could access my account as long as she could call the number on file and I answered. I did in fact answer and they told me once again that my account was cancelled, only to find out in one months time that they were still charging me money!!!!
Words cant describe how frustrating this all was, Especiually since I had to wait on hold for extended periods of time everytime I dealt with them. I then cancelled my checking account, and filed a report with the BBB. Web.com insists that they provided sufficent service and no refund is in order.
Wrong Web.com, you provided no service, not even customer service. Your service may be functional, but only if everything goes swimmingly. The moment you try to cancell or get a refund they hit you with a massive run around, and horrible customer service. You spend so much time on hold and being transfered, and lied to that the average person would just cut thier losses and be done.
Lucky that im not average!! I'll tell my story to as many people as possible and ward off as many potiential customers as possible in hopes to save as many people as I can from going through web.com's crap service.
I purchased a domain name to test out a new website idea and contact their web.com design service. I told its website design service staff CLEARLY that I do not want to host it on anywhere else but my own web server which I have used for over 7+ years. After over 20 minutes of discussion, I found they cannot provide the level of design suitable for me. I gave up and whole deal was off. I even called the web design service multiple times to ensure nothing will be charged to my account.
But web hosting charge of $40+ showed up in my CC account. I did not realize it until 4 months later. Called them to remove it. They refused to.
To put more insult to the injury. The web.com billing support guy kept telling me I must claim the ownership of the unwanted hosting service first before they could cancel the continous billing. [continued below]....
They have a very attractive website. They charge you $1.95 per month (or so it seems) for a domain name registration and to use their Website builder. Their website builder isn't very good. It's extremely slow and has to keep re-compiling every step of the way. But oh well, right? What you buy is what you get. I didn't think too much of it for six or seven months since it was only $1.95 a month. I hadn't used it, but so what? Then I noticed mysterious charges of $22.95 per month every month. I called and got passed around to five different people. In the end they said there was nothing they could do (to refund charges). They also never sent cancellation confirmation as promised. Apparently in the Website's fine print it says $1.95 / month is for the first month and then it goes to $22.95 per month automatically unless you call to cancel. But calling to cancel is not easily done. I had to get the number from my bank and then still got passed around five times.
When i signed up for seo work they told me it was a 3 month program. one year later and they are still biling me and will not credit the difference.I will nevcer work with them again

This is bad
Try with another company who has good rating!
