Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this letter. I just pulled my credit report, and discovered that a late payment was reported on [date] for my account [loan account number].
During that time, my mother fell terminally ill, and I was the only one left to care for her. As such, I had to leave my job, and my savings went toward her healthcare expenses. I fell on very rough times after she passed away, and was unable to make my student loan payments.
I realize I made a mistake in falling behind, but up until that point, my payment history with you had been spotless. When I was able to gain employment once again, I quickly resumed paying my student loans, making them a priority.
I’m not proud of this negative mark on my record, but it’s the only one I have, and I would be extremely grateful if you could honor this request to remove the lateness from my credit report. It would help me immensely in securing other lines of credit so that I can further improve my credit score.
If the lateness cannot be removed entirely, I would still be appreciative if you could make a goodwill adjustment.
WebBank reports that it can't offer the WebBank/Fingerhut FreshStart Closed End Installment MasterCard because they can't verify my identity, which is very odd.
It's very odd because I have a viable, legal social security number which I added to their form. I also have not one, but two accounts with Huntington Bank, one joint and a private checking. I receive Supplement Security Income and Foodstamps, this means my social is VERY active.
I have a third card, though Bankcorp, via the ACE Elite Prepaid Mastercard program (Netspend) which I've had for over ten years, they've renewed it twice already.
So, having the WebBank use such a flimsy excuse is unbelievable.
Additionally, the WebBank's so-called credit reporting agency, which they run, couldn't locate my credit history, period, to start with. Which is odd, because the other agencies have no suck difficulties.
I am being mailed by a company called convergent outsourcing telling me that I owe $1,128.42. To a company called galaxy asset purchasing, LLc. Aka. Web bank pearl card . Which I know for a fact that I never recived a card from that company or even filled out for one. But now it's sitting on my credit report and hurting my score. And when I try to get more information on it I get the run around . Which now can be taking legal action and garnish my wages. This is not right at all.
