I am a single mother of three children, my boyfriend and myself moved ito a dulplex as of October 1st, 2017. I heard of the residence through a family friend cause they were moving out, she moved out earliar than expected on September 22, 2017. I had asked the landlord if we could do the cleaning and move in and he said yes. I then tried to get service established wtih the gas company (WE ENERGIES) ,which we are forced to use even though its a complete monopoly, and we were denied! The previous tenet had her gas disconnected due to past due balance. Her service was disconnected months prior to us moving in and signing the lease, and was all in HER name. WE ENERGIES is now trying to force us to pay a bill that THEY let get out of control in order for us to provide heat and gas to cook with!
My boyfriend and myself have wasted many breaks at work and our free time on the phone with this company trying to figure out how to get service established, all they keep telling us is they need proof the last tent has a new address! How is that our problem!?? If i didn't know the last person what would i have done!? I'm still without service since September 22, 2017 and it is now Oct. 9th and they are still dening service, i have provieded a photo copy of the last tenets electric bill (that i secretly got cause i had to turn into a detective just to feed my children and have heat!) that has her new address and proof shes even behind on other bills and i still havent heard back! I dont know what to do anymore and i think maybe the news cast needs to look into how the gas company is refusing service to a hard working family trying to pay their bills and feed their children in the cold month of October!!
Wisconsin electric has very high rates consumers have to pay postage to remit payment. postage for 1 month is about $208,740.00.. per month. making the yearly profit approximately $2,504,880.00 per year making more profit on an already monolopiized business.
WE Energies and their incompetent employees made it a very stressful move for my family. At the end of August, we moved down the street from our old neighborhood into a new one. We simply wanted to transfer our account to the new residence. We Energies made my husband go through a cumbersome verification process in which none of the questions that was asked pertain to him. Because they couldn't verify him over the phone, they instructed us to go downtown to the Salvation Army to formally fill out an application. They told us it would not be a problem and it would only take 2-3 days. After the 3 days were up there was still no electricty at the new place. It just so happened that the weather was horribly hot and humid so we had to plan the move carefully since we have 2 small children. I called and spoke to a customer service rep to try to speed up the process by giving my information. Everything was verified and she said it would be about 3 days. Well the 3 days passed by and still no electricity. Not only am I annoyed at how much money I've spent on U-Haul (due to having to strategically plan the move because of having no electricity), but am annoyed that I can't immediately hook up my refrigerator and ac unit.
