W.E.T. Water Equipment Technologies had a booth at the local Christmas festival but only had a sign that said "$500 Lowe's gift card give away". We just had to give our contact info and whether or not we were home owners. I knew it was for a sales pitch but didn't know for what. My husband and I signed up.
A couple of days later I got a call saying they are giving us a $50.00 Lowe's card if we allow a technician to come test our water and fill out a six question questionnaire. I asked Andrew the " manager " (he was really the closer) how will we get the gift card. He said the technicians have the cards with them. I said "Are you sure?" He said "We make sure the guys have them with them at all times but if for some reason they run out they will mail it." So we agreed.
The "technician" came and immediately started looking at how he was going to hook up his mini version of their filter. I asked him something, can't remember what, and he said "I don't think you understand how this works. I'm going to give you a demonstration of how our product works." I said "We were told you would test our water and we would fill out a six question questionnaire. Then you'll give us a gift card. Do you have the card on you?" He said they never carry them with them, they are always mailed out. I said "Then we're done here."
After the kid left Andrew called me to try to talk me back into it. I said "You lied to me....." And repeated what he said. He said "I assure you I would never have promised he would have the cards with him." Both conversations were on speaker phone so my husband heard everything. When he heard the guy say that he told me to just hang up. They are total liars!
