I have used the services of Waste Management of Wixom MI since 2011 which has been for a 4 yard dumpster.
During the four years of service with Waste Management I have always questioned why they charge a fuel sur charge since their job is to drive and use fuel to pick up waste ( I am pretty sure they knew they would need to use fuel which isn't cheap when they started their business). However the cost of the fuel charge went from $16.00 per month to $20.00 + per month even though the price of fuel has went down.
When I questioned this and wanted the dumpster picked up as I am paying them $118.00 per month and my neighbor is also paying $118.00 per month as we share the dumpster. I can get Sunrise Disposal to give us the same size dumpster for $44.00 each which is approximately a quarter of what Waste Management is charging.
I was told too bad so sad you are going to have to pay $504.75 due to early termination + $150.00 pick up charge, really early termination, I've been a customer for 4 years. I think I paid my dues and then some!
I own a Home Health Care Agency and we drive to our patients homes, however we are unable to charge the patient or their insurance companies more money because the price of fuel increases.
Get a life Waste Management and quit ripping people off!
If I could go on national TV and educate folks regarding Wast Management's sinister ways, I certainly would!
