I paid for a $4.99 Pretrial one-time shipping and handling on a product Secret Allure Skin Cream, on 9/30/2017, it was shipped 10/2/2017. I received it on the 5th or 6th. Capital One sent me an email on 10/15 whereas a charge was declined due to lack of credit on my card for $89.92. I finally had an opportunity to go through my emails on 10/18/2017.
I instantly opened your email, because unlike other companies, I truly value what they have to say. I read the below email and first I thought Thank God, 1. Because they could not get the funds and 2. I paid on my account the day after Secret Allure attempted to debit my account, which would have more than enough to cover the prior charge, the prior day.
I contacted Capital One, after going through the IVR and option menus I reached the Contact Center. I got the most amazing, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with gentlemen Andy ID VYX887. This young man is crazy pleasant, patient and loves what he does. No doubt, he has heard these types of stories over a thousand times. This gentleman sat patiently on the line, listening to me calmly explain how I got roped into paying for something that I just wanted to try out and decide to purchase after the trial. Mind you, he did not interrupt me not one time. “Poor dear sweet man”
Okay, now here is the thing. A ID VYX887, ran it down to me about how consumers are bamboozled “my word” into if you don’t cancel within a certain amount of time, you will be billed for the rest of your life with these outrageous amounts of money, clause “my words”. He took the time to contact the Merchant while I was conferenced in, to clear up the matter at hand. The Secret Allure Contact Center agent Richard, #421 ask us to call back because the Network was down, “his computer at least” wink wink! Andy replied, sure, we will call back.
Andy then, took time to school me on exactly was is going on. “They really don’t want to stop the billing and this is their way of getting a few hundred dollars from people that can afford it, before they realize 3 or 4 months down the road that they are paying for something that they may or may not get. My words!”
Then Andy said, Ms. Faires, this is what I am going to do, we will call them again and see what happens. If we cannot get a cancellation # for this one and future debits from this merchant we will take another route. He called back and we got the same guy, Richard, agent #421. Second verse same as the first, his computer is down, and that he will hang up and we can call back again, and he won’t answer next time.
Andy clearly heard the writing on the wall via the phone. He then says, Ms. Faires I need to put you on a brief hold. I will start the Block Merchant Request now. He explained to me how it works, how long it is in effect and told me what to do and be diligently about it.
I thanked him to no end for taking the time out to not only assist me with utmost professional, empathy and distain for companies who does this to non-suspecting consumers’. I don’t make many purchases of this sort, but after my educational lesson from Andy ID VYX887, I now know that nothing is what it seems, what a world we live in.

On October 23rd Secret Allure charged my card the $89.92, I paid my entire CO bill a few days ago and noticed the charge on my card. I finally got around to calling them today 10/31/17, this is what I was told by Amee #485. Secret Allure policy is if you don’t contact them within 14 days your credit card will be charged the $89.92 after you have already paid for the $4.99 S/H.
She then stated that it is written on the website, well I ordered the Pre-trial One Time Shipping and Handling only, from an ad off the internet featuring Sally Field, I didn’t see 14 days clause in that ad. I looked! She then gave me these other discount options, which I declined. She then said she could give me 60% of my money back. I told her SA didn’t take 60%, they took 100%.
After me arguing with her about how much of a BS company this is. She then said she could give me 75% of my money back. I was just too through at this point, I was not getting 100% of my money back. I huffed and puffed and I said find, give me my 75%, and cancel the account. She then said okay your account will be credited $67.44 which is 75% and your cancellation # is Blah, Blah. I apologize for my nastiness, mind you not a curse was used. I then told her it isn’t her fault, but I will be letting the nation/world/and universe know how Secret Allure rolls.
