I recieved a bill from Walton Emc that stated on may 13th my service would be shut off. It was an over site by myself. On May 17th I call to find out that my bill was past due. I call and spoke with a representative to pay my bill. She explained that my gas was scheduled to be turned off. I said I was calling to pay my bill in full. I paid my bill and later that day my gas was disconnected. I called and after talking to Atlanta light Gas I was told the order came from Walton emc. So I called them back and was told it would be 4 days before they could send someone out. I told the rep that was unacceptable and demanded my gas be restored emediately. The rep then proceed to tell me I would have to file an emergency need and that take a few days to be approved. See where this is going so yes I was upset especially when my balance was zero. Then they put in an order to have my gas valve to be removed Friday before labor day weekend. Ok we got all that straightened out Atlanta light gas came out and restored my service. I'm thinking all is back to normal only to find out today 7 18 2016 a day after my birthday my gas is off again and my account has been closed and in there notes it state I am stealing gas. The guy from Atlanta light gas who I spoke with today knew something wasn't right because it showed that they were the ones who restored my service so why now I have no account? I have my own opinions about this company. I urge anyone who has Walton emc to find another gas provider.
Walton EMC electrical company has turned into a gigantic bully. What in the world has happened to them? When I moved into my home 22 years ago, Walton EMC was tiny little co-op company that was glad to get any customer it could.
Now? Now they treat their customers like dirt. I pay my bills so there is no reason to act like I'm a low-life who is constantly having my service turned off. Last month, I went into my online bank account, like I do every month, and sent my payments to the electric, water and gas companies. At least I thought that's what happened. Apparently I forgot to hit the submit button and those 3 payments didn't processed.
The gas company was nice enough to send me a notice in the mail. I immediately paid them. The water department just sent the next bill with the past due amount included. I paid them. But Walton EMC? Talk about going crazy.
With no prior notice whatsoever the snuck up on the porch and put a disconnect notice on my door to happen at 5:00 THAT very day. Had my husband not been home and found the notice, we would have had no power after 5:00. THAT should be against the law.
I immediately called them and made a payment. But when I opened my current electric bill I've been hit with a $110.00 late fee. Are they out of their minds? They are absolutely over the top. $110.00?!?!? That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard.
These bullying tactics by monopoly companies should not be allowed. It's not like I can call up another electric company for service. WMC has their customers trapped and they know it. This is why I'm writing this report. Be warned customers of WMC. This company will eat you alive if you so much as blink. Whatever you do, NEVER miss a payment deliberately or accidentally because the WMC judge, jury and executioner will come down on you.
