Today is Jan 24th 2018, and yesterday was my bday. Why is this important you may ask? 1 year ago on that day i was hired by waffle house. I was hired to work at a location that was being built and they were traning us so we would be ready when it finally opened its doors. No concreet hours and frases like well work you at another location so your garonteed hours (even if its in another city). From the first week i had to argue with the manager who refused to pay me minimum wage. You start out traning on the floor as a server (which even though was hired as a cook had no choice but to train on the floor if i wanted hours).
Its rough they want you to learn a specific marking system, order call out system and everything durring the busiest times of the day when there is already no room to be able to work properly. And on top of that the trainer gets 100% of the tips no matter if you did 100% of the work. Which is where the arguement with the manager comes in since aparently he docked me pay saying i had to have made tips even though i wasent fuly trained and wasent even allowed to touch the money to begin with so tips were never an option.
Moove ahead and the store opened and after missing the amount of time where you would loose your vacation by one day thanks to scheduling conflicks i had to start over the 6 months it took to get a vacation paycheck in the first place. 7 months go by... Then 8, and then 9... Asking every time i got paid andeven asked higher management and no one had an answer to when i would get it, just that my paychecks did indicate that i had worked over the amount of time to be able to recieve it. After being told that the 40+ hours a week working 10+hr shifts at a time because that's how night shift or 3rd shift works.
I'm told I'm worthless and several other things that I've erased from my memory because its just not something a manager would nor should ever say to an employee, especially when it's over missing clocking in due to jumping straight on the floor to help out an already busy staff. So at this point, I've had enough and cant even bring myself to continue working there because in my eyes it's just not worth it anymore. Docked paychecks nowhere near minimum wage, management harassment, and no vacation check. I'm sure most people would do the same as I did and left. Even 2 weeks after I left, when I picked up my final paycheck they still had no answer to how or when id get my vacation check and still to this day have not received it. 0 responses to emails and nothing ever arrived in the male.
Was asked to not come back to waffle house on veterans blvd. hwy. 80 in dublin,ga. for something that another customer said about us,, the district manager called us out ,in front of other customers,( totally embarrased me.. i have been eating there several years every morning.. i want an full apology from him,& if not , can i file lawsuit..thanks
So, I worked at the lebanon tn waffle house. Technically I started out at the gordonsville waffle house, but they moved me without telling me. The only way I found out was when the lebanon store manager gave me a call and said I was late. That just starts off the story. Soon after that they start making me work third shift illegally, as I'm only seventeen, they kept telling me if I didn't work them they would put me down as a "no call no show" so I'd lose my job. I needed my job desperately so I worked them. Soon they moved me to second shift which is the prep shift. Sometimes I got super packed as a cook I couldn't do it all. Every other second shift could walk out without touching the prep, if I missed a pan in a drawer that I hadn't even looked at during the shift they would threaten to write me up. The district manager tried to bully me into doing what he wanted, he made me do first shift waitress end of shift work when I would come ln as a second shift cook. This company has wronged me in many ways.
