Stay away from Vydia here is the inside scoop about this company. When you visit the website you will noticed how it is catered to hip hop artist more than any other genre. The reason for this is because every kid in America thinks that they're video is going to get on TV and they will become the next Drake. Therefore the majority of vydia's submissons comes from hip hop artist. Vydia does not submit every video they get sure they take your money but they will only submit a small portion of the videos that they get and if the video features a famous artist they will submit it. DMDS is the service tha vydia uses to submit videos DMDS charges alot for videos to get submitted.

The idea that for $40 bucks they will submit your video to 1 network is a joke. It costs about $75 to submit it. All vydia does is close caption your video for $150. If you dont ask for a closed captioned copy they probably wont CC it at all. They also send out the majority of rejection emails to artists on Friday about 3 weeks after you submit. Its all done like clockwork. As for VEVO dont waste your time. VEVO is not going to push your video like the famous artists. Your better off with your own youtube channel. Your vevo video will be sitting there with 3 views making you look stupid like you have no fans.

Videos do get on TV but only if someone famous is featured on them. Once in a while some independent artist will get picked up but rarely does this happens and if it does its only on mtvu.com not TV. Also notice on vydia website that they have networks like BET. BET does not play videos anymore nor MTV2 or VH1 Centric and disney channel yet they still offer these networks for you to submit to.

My advise is to save your money, do shows hit the streets build a real fanbase and let the record labels come to you. Promote your videos by yourself. go to dmds.com and submit them yourself with a real bio and artists photos. Do it yourself stop thinking you will get famous by some music video submission company.

Response

This is in response to the review above. I'll just try and comment on each point. Vydia doesn't cater towards any specific genre. We simply make our service available and people choose to use it. We submit every video we receive and have no incentive not to. If you'd like to confirm submission, you can do so by contacting the network(s) directly. We partner with DMDS for MTV networks only all others we go direct. (I don't understand why later you're advising people to use DMDS because it doesn't solve any of the issues you have with our service.) You can submit to 1 network if you'd like. It's $99 for us to do closed captioning and we guarantee the captioning through edits (For instance if logos need to be blurred in the video, it will break the captioning code. In situations like that we'll redo the captioning code for free). If someone doesn't choose captioning we'll recommend it. If they refuse it then we'll send as is, but we warn them that it significantly hurts their chances at being accepted. We send notifications at the end of the week for the results we get during that period. it's usually 2-3 weeks after (as stated on the website). VEVO probably won't do a promotional push for your video, but if they do it's great. If they pushed everyone who signed up, their push wouldn't mean anything. They do push indie artists all the time. If your video is sitting there with 3 views, that might be an indication of a bigger issue. You don't need to be famous to get on TV. We see it all the time, just review our twitter feed and site news to see actual videos that were accepted. We submit music videos and commercials to these networks, so just because a network doesn't play music videos it doesn't mean other people aren't sending other content to them. Many of the networks you listed as not playing music videos, actually do play them. If someone is submitting a music video, they should know ahead of time which one they'd like to submit to and what they play. Artists shouldn't submit a hardcore hip hop video to Disney and then get mad that the network was available. We encourage everyone to do their homework ahead of time. The last paragraph is a little confusing. I agree that you should hit the streets, build a fanbase, and have people come to you. I also agree with promoting yourself, but I don't understand why going to dmds would solve any of your issues. With us you also submit it yourself, include a real bio and photo. It's like shipping a package through UPS or FedEX, it's just two options that do the same exact thing. Vydia doesn't represent itself as a promotion company. We're a company that builds tools for you to do it yourself. Lastly, I would like to mention that I make myself available to anyone that has an issue with Vydia. Why not call me and voice your concerns? I think it would yield much better results than posting anonymously on some random website. Hope that provides clarity. Thanks for your feedback and I encourage you to reach out to me if you'd like to discuss your project specifically. Thanks. Roy

disappointed

i've had the "VEVO Banner Design" paid for at june 29 2016 (49 bucks), with "rush delivery" (49 extra bucks)....today august 31 2016 the banner is still missing from my channel....from my Vydia account the second video i uploaded results "published on VEVO", too bad when i look for it on VEVO, it is nowhere to be found.....at june 29 i also submitted my video for distribution, and i've got to know that "the video just missed out on the cut" only yesterday and BECAUSE I ASKED!!! ..we independent artists spend a shitload of money from our own pockets only to create these HQ products to begin with, let alone publish and distribute them, a little extra care at least when it comes to letting us know stuff, even when the response is negative, would be appreciated, but no, yesterday as i logged in a second time to read the response, i was welcomed by a friendly "This release is closed to new messages"....and also the fact that you carefully avoided talking about your 35% cut in any of your youtube videos (and i've seen them all) looks fishy to me... a company like Symphonic Distribution asks for 75 bucks a video, but al least you know that once you've paid that, you're done with it, they get you to more places than Vydia does, after you pay you keep 100%, and there's no yearly fee, semi-hidden percentage or any other stuff like that, and i think Vidzone does something similar too, it looks way clearer and trustworthy, recurring fees should be always avoided when possible in my opinion.....so far, disappointed, guess i'll be switching company sooner than later

Horrible service

I've submitted several tickets, it has been over 4 months and you still have not updated my vevo channel, 2 images and nothing, you keep blaming it on vevo, but 4 months? Come on now, I paid for a year, that's almost half the time I paid, you have not even replied to my last ticket in over a week, you can't offer and charge for a service that you can't even keep up with and support

Vydia was once Music Video Submissions...shut down because it was a scam...

Go to musicvideosubmissions.com and you will see a redirection pop up to Vydia. The same guy owns both companies. But he bascially had to shut down MVS because it was a scam and he was ripping people off and probably got sued ten times over. If MVS was a scam, what makes you think vydia isn't?

Save your money.

MVS

Musicvideosubmissions.com wasn't shut down. It was bought by Vydia, inc, which is why there's a redirect. MVS was previously owned by another company that is still in business. If the website got shut down they wouldn't allow you to re-direct to a new company. The account I had on MVS was transferred over and is still available on the new site.

SCAM??

How do you know for sure it was a scam? Was there any details on it being a scam or are you assuming it was a scam because of a name change of the company? I looked up information on this company and I couldnt find anything about a scam.

BIG SCAM! Be Aware!

Vydia will take your video down if your views rise. They will tell you that your views spiked and without any explanation shut your account down and all videos. Next, you will be accused of paying for views, when you respond, you will be threatened, and they will threaten to have your videos banned on all platform for life. They just accuse you without any proof, just on their your views growing. It is mind blowing. There are many others that this is happening to. The one good thing is this happens right before I was going to do a big purchase on submissions.

F*** Vydia

Vydia isnt a scam but i had 4 videos on Vevo from them. i had jaiblizz.com and Thurtybelow.com which i had my videos on and my twitter had 30k. They stopped letting me put new material up but kept taking my fees. They said if i didnt use google adsense or twitter ads then my promo wasnt valid. They took suspended my account last month and took my videos off vevo two months ago. i never bought views just promotion but they said i wasnt getting as many plays as before so that's why they did it. Vydia also took my money several times for network distribution.. and i didnt get my royalty money. they're a bogus company

  • Oct 27, 2016

yes it is a scam

Vydia is a scam. The suspend your account after you have earned royalties so you CAN NOT withdraw your earnings. They should be reported to the BBB and shut down before they can steal any more artists royalties.

Vydia crooks

Vydia is crooks. theyll steal your money and say your plays arent legitimate. Being they're owned by major labels this is a way to keep independent artists from outselling their artists.

SCAM??

How is it a scam? Do you know that for sure or are you assuming so because of a name change? I tried to find information on it and I can't find anything referencing it being shut down over it being a scam. Any legit information about this company being a scam will help.
