I am a college prof by day, and I play and screenwriter by night. I've been pitching my latest project, Franklin Street Station, a TV pilot, for the past nine months. Recently, I came across Voyage Media as a resource for getting visibility for my project. While I'm a dreamer when it comes to "selling" my project, I'm not a fool. I'm a Hollywood outsider, but I have been around the entertainment industry enough to know what’s legit or a scam. I did a lot of research about Nat Mundel and Voyage Media. I learned about them from people who worked there, people who used their services, and even people who complained and eventually re-canted complaints about the company. Bottom line - this company is exactly what it claims to be: a non-traditional resource that helps unknown creators/writers get their project ready for market for the possibility of selling it. Their business model includes pricing that is clear and consistent with industry standards, feedback that is honest and delivered respectfully, and authentic positivity without false or unrealistic hopes or promises. I feel good about my experience with Voyage and recommend them to other writers/creators who are serious about doing the work needed to navigate a very complex and unpredictable industry.
I was gonna go with Voyage Media to shop my pirate story around to different production companies. But now, seeing all these bad reviews, and then the people who posted them retracting them just convinces me it would be a bad idea to go with them. For the simple fact that Voyage Media did try to scam these people, I'm guessing...then they were contacted by someone from VM, who either threatened them, or offered to return their money if they placed a statement retracting or denying the statement they made on here formally.
Thanks everyone, all these statements were very useful.
Its not only pathetic and "desperate" sounding at that point, but its just downright illegal to harass someone. Don't believe anything they promise, don' sign anything, its a SCAM. I have recommended this company to other authors at times, and they have probably given money to Voyage Media, and I will no longer do so...and will, in fact, do the opposite. I don't know of one adaptation of a book that they have actually adapted and brought to the big screen YET....that says it all.
Voyage Media is a SCAM...that is it, plain and simple. They charge you, the author, about $700+ for a "Producers Action Plan" and then dangle carrots in front of you for a whole year...in which case, yes, a year after you get the "Producers Action Plan", a year from that date, you are released, BUT, if you don't "officially" write them to be "released" even though you are via the contract, they will harass you by email through the owner, Nat Mundell, who will send you emails threatening you with breach of contract.

Voyage Media, once I contacted them, resolved everything! They are not a scam, and they are great help to authors looking to know how adaptable their manuscript is to the big screen. Everything that I asked for in a release was given, and I think that Voyage has been very cooperative.
I thank Voyage Media for the time that they did spend giving me a "producers action plan". It is a very good thing for $700, to have for information as to how adaptable your book is to a screenplay or film.
I highly recommend Voyage Media and Nat Mundell.

I wrote the above review, but afterwards, the company cooperated quickly and thoroughly. I would highly recommend this Company to any author looking to take their book to the big screen. Nat Mundell has also been very cooperative and has resolved any issues we had.
I think the issue here is that you didn't hold up your end of the contract and now you are playing the blame game. In the entertainment business and in the business world in general, contracts are put in place to clarify working relationships. This is done because after an agreement is reached either one or both parties expend resources to meet the terms of the deal. It sounds to me like Voyage Media did their part and you reneged by trying to sell your product to someone else at the same time. And you got caught. There is no room in this industry for dishonest people. Your review is both disingenuous and libelous. You should consider yourself lucky you aren't at the receiving end of a lawsuit.
I Have started the Voyage Media Journey with Nat Mundel July 2019
Nat Mundel sounded convincing in marketing his business except for a few glitches in his Pod cast. I recieved an Email with a form to sign and a template to develop a submission for an Action Plan. As I went through the Action Plan suggestions I realised that I had done a similar action plan on my own to self publish my book. I have now developed my action plan and I feel its already quite reasonable.
I have identified and fine tuned my 2-3 page submission from my book Jae-Dee Survives the Home of Many Mothers a fictional story inspired by a memoir. www.Jae-Dee.com
I have paid my money, signed and submitted tonight, then I read the reviews after the fact. Silly me with stars in my eyes hoping for that big break. Now I am scared that I have been scammed or ripped off.
I was excited now feeling deflated. I really hope Voyage Media and CEO Nat Mundel isn't a scam
After reading your review I am wondering why you gave them one star. It seems to me that you haven't given them a chance to deliver on what was promised. You said you paid the money and submitted your work, then read some reviews after the fact and now you are scared that you might have been scammed or ripped off. All of this within the span of a single day. So, did they scam you? Did you get what you paid for? Or are you giving them one star because you think that they might rip you off, even though they haven't even had a chance to look at your materials?
It looks to me like you are reviewing a company you haven't even done business with. My advice to anyone reading this is to ignore this person's review.
Voyage is good for authors looking to take their manuscript to the big screen
You will pay money (around $700) to have them put together a "Producer's Action Plan" which reviews the adaptability of your manuscript to the big screen.
Your project wil then enter their "data base" where they will have "exclusive shopping rights" once that Producers Action plan is in your hands. If, after year, they have not found someone who is interested in purchasing the rights, or producing your project (film), you can then notify them in writing if you no longer wish them to keep your work in their database.

This group touts they have producers and screen-writers to assist in getting your story to film production and seek funding for the project. After paying $1000 for services it took 2 months for a 'writer' to read my book and give a terse summary to a producer. When the Pitch-a producer phone call finally happened, it was obvious he was not familiar with the content of the book. I had to tell the entire story during the call. I paid $600 for a "Book add-on" so the book would be read and speak for itself.
The covers of the book said more about the story than the producer was aware of when we spoke by phone. If an individual actually read the book they missed most of the most critical aspects of the non-fiction account. The producer was genuine-but what he had to work with was a droll uneventful summary given to him by 'who knows who.'
If you want to pitch-a-producer-use your money wisely and send copies of the book to targeted producers or just get your story out. Voyage Media took the money but did not deliver the goods. I'm not insulted by an honest opinion about the book-but I AM insulted nobody really read it to report the details.
I paid voyage media $700 in march 2018, after video call with its ceo matt mondel. He was very convincing. As someone who believes they don't fall for scams, i was sucked in. I received my action plan from my chosen producer and continued with a telephone call from him in how to develop my book into a script, being happy to continue and further call from ceo nat explained how much he wanted me on board, practically gushing with excitement... Then he asked for a further $3000. Upon which i said thanks, but no thanks. Yep i fell for the biggest con in the world. Build you up and ask for more...
I'm a tech entrepreneur and a Hollywood outsider. Voyage Media had teamed me up with an outstanding producer and award-winning screen writer. They both understood and were passionate about my project, a kids educational cartoon. TOGETHER, we rolled up our sleeves. The finished pilot earned a trustmark by STEM.org. This is no small feat since it was judged by a committee of my peers in the STEM industry, using a high rubric. I followed the producer's roadmap and per her feedback, I pitched to the National Science Foundation. I'm happy to say that I was invited to submit a full proposal for their SBIR grant program. Nat Mundel continues to support me in my project goals even when it looks impossible to find the person that has the right skills because it's so rare. In my case, an example is crunching bankable sales estimates for business plan. I was having a heck of a time finding someone who could do that. Nat Mundel persisted and ultimately teamed me up with a veteran in kids animation that has extensive BUSINESS knowledge in this niche. With Voyage Media, WE will do great things together.
I've been in and around the entertainment industry for just over ten years, mostly as an actor and more recently as a writer. During the course of trying to bring my most recent project to market, I've attended seminars, paid to pitch producers, and have done loads of research on how to get my material into the right hands. While most of the services I've paid for sounded great on the surface, they failed to deliver any meaningful results that helped move my project forward.
After learning about Voyage Media, researching the company and their business model, and listening to a presentation from founder Nat Mundell, I was convinced that I had found a home for my story and a group of people that could help me realize my dream. For a price less than what I've paid others, Voyage has so far delivered incredible value. The producer I pitched give me clear and actionable notes on story, character, and what executives producers look for when considering attaching themselves to a project and what adjustments I needed to make in that regard. He pointed out a few blind spots that had perhaps previously kept my project from moving forward. I've never received that from any of the other producers I paid to pitch! Nat phoned me the next week and followed up with a plan of action and a set of steps that made clear the process of getting my project ready to sell and how that would be done.
Furthermore, as someone who has built and operated several companies, I have a unique perspective when it comes to identifying well-built organizations. Voyage Media is no exception. Nat and his team have done an excellent job in curating industry professionals and producers from across all disciplines. The resources and information they provide are insightful and extremely valuable. Not only that, but I have yet to find another organization in the entertainment industry that offers a turn-key approach to bring your story idea to market in such an integrated and streamlined way.
So, if you are new to the entertainment industry, or even if have been around for a while like me, I highly recommend working with Voyage Media. It's the best investment you'll ever make!

I was actually very excited to get into this and I had my Debit Card ready to pay for $397. Nat Mundel threw me off the Conference Call once other people starting asking me for Information to Network. My IQ is 164. That’s NOT A Good Look. You just lost money and the chance to have an Oscar winner that the Director for this Series I’m in already said will get to Cannes. Bad business. Bad attitude. Bad reviews. You shouldn’t kick someone from a group chat because other creative people are trying Network. And I find it hard to believe they wouldn’t take $397 all day every day, whenever there is a “Pay Now Or You’ll Miss Out!” — Avoid it like the Plague. You will see me in a bit Sir, I’ll give you a shoutout when I win my Oscar.
It sounds to me like you were trying to take advantage of the conference call to network. That is not only improper business etiquette, but it's also downright rude. Then to turn around blame the company for your behavior is flat out unprofessional. I doubt you'll be able to find anybody in this industry willing to work with you if that's your attitude and method of operation.
