Volvo of Denver Reviews

  • Jul 28, 2017

I have had one truck (your shop has damaged) already fixed at Volvo in Abingdon, VA. The tech’s there confirmed the improper ground, missing fuses and or breakers in the battery box and have confirmed the utter incompetence of the installation as noted on their invoice. (Invoice provided at your request) Your response proves our position that you lack any understanding of the necessary capacity of a mechanical/electrical ground. Your quote: “A ground connection is a ground connection and the fusible link has no bearing on where it is located, inside or outside of the battery box.” We are not addressing any fusible link, we are specifically referring to the 0000 ground cable that was

cut by your shop. At the risk of being redundant, I will reiterate, I believe you have seen the aforementioned invoice from Volvo at Abingdon, VA, showing the repair of the cut ground wiring. It was clearly stated on said invoice, that your shop, while moving the battery box, incompetently re-assembled the ground system using a 4 gage cable for a ground instead of a 0000 cable as required for that system, on that truck, which caused the low voltage and malfunction problems. THESE MALFUNCTIONS ARE THE SAME ON ALL FIVE TRUCKS. (See attached invoice for your edification). Considering the obvious evidence of improper re-installation on all five new trucks, how can you and

your company deny the simple fact that your mechanic(s) has/have caused all of these problems and obviously, as it appears are not capable or even qualified to do the job properly according to the published specifications? You have moved the battery boxes on all five trucks the same way and now you have the misinformed and or intentional audacity to blame it on Lisa (an Operating Partner) for the incompetent work done on the newest truck. (fifth and last purchased) The moving of said battery box would not have and did not cause the 0000 cables (to ground) to be cut or even touched. This was done by your shop. Also, Lisa had told you that putting the battery box with the opening

facing forward would interfere with access and opening it if a headache rack or storage box were later installed. This was a reasonable customer request which should have been done out of shear courtesy. We would have gladly paid the measly $105.00 you demanded for the job. Not to mention it was obviously in the wrong orientation. As a truck dealer you should’ve already known this. We bought five new VNL 780's at your place at over $874,000 and you wouldn't even accommodate a few simple changes without insulting your customer, and our operating partner, Lisa. Also, when Lisa asked that her truck actually be delivered in a “new condition“, you called her names and said she

was picky! E.g., damaged compartment doors, covered up by spray painting over said damage, mis-aligned drawer tracts, mixed matched trim, damaged curtains, scratched chrome, etc. I spent all day and half the evening, waiting with Lisa until you finally got her truck put in an (almost) acceptable condition. This should have been done prior to delivery. I would expect all of this from a second hand dealer. This is definitely not the modus operandi of a competent dealership. This certainly clouds Volvo's reputation for quality service, ready trucks and customer relations. Several more examples of incompetence, to wit: The, as you refer to it, the (Go Go) Green truck (third

purchased) was pawned off on us with an inferior paint job, (looks like it was either repaired and or painted using a roller. It had/has and is still leaning hard to the drivers side. This truck also has mis-matched trim. It was on your lot for weeks and you didn't bother to check it, prep it and fix the obvious problems. When we brought it in because the brakes on one side locked up and almost caught fire, we had to demand several times that it be checked. We were treated like we were making it up. I also have an invoice for the repair at the New England truck Terminal, in Sturbridge, MA. It was like pulling teeth at your shop to get it done. Also, the Two Tone Copper / Black truck was

delivered with the steering wheel cocked to the right at least 15 degrees. You actually claimed that these defects were not your fault! Not to mention that each of the five new trucks had/have to go and get the windshield fluid reservoirs re-installed because your shop mounted it resting on a sharp part of the truck; causing it to be punctured, thereby, emptying out the needed fluid that drivers depend on in adverse weather. A major safety issue. In conclusion, I have pictures of the cables that your service department incompetently cut and left dangling while moving the battery box to the rear middle frame. Also, the fuses that should’ve been in the battery box, were not in

place. They were left unconnected where the battery box used to be. Another very serious safety issue that put the drivers life in jeopardy should those missing fuses be needed because of an electrical problem. I have 4 other trucks experiencing the same low voltage problems. I will bring them to one of Worldwide Equipment locations, one at time to correct your shops damaging work. I will take additional pictures for evidence of the rest of the trucks as they get repaired. As I previously noticed you and your company, you may choose to cover these costs now, when they only include the repairs, time, fuel and other elated expenses. So, I will extent this notice and demand for no longer than

an additional seven (7) days. Should you decide again to dis-honor my claim, I will be adding all of the actual accrued costs, i.e., damaged electronics, (because of low voltage) truck down time, motels, operator's loss of time and revenue, loss of reputation of our operators, Trans Pacific and it’s partners. I have tried to resolve this by continually asking for you to fix these defects. You and your company have chosen not to using erroneous excuses and false spurious statements. These acts could show intentional neglect causing the above noted damages. If this has to be litigated, I will also demand punitive damages and all other further relief the court will grant. You have (7)

days to the 7th of September, 2015 to positively respond and honor my/our claim. There will be no further notice.
