I was in shock after trying to get unemployment that I deserved and treated by Virginia Unemployment Commission with complete ignorance, lies and bad attitude when recorder was off. They have absolutely no right judgment and were bending the law and information so it will be convenient to them and I will not get the money that I deserved. I explained them that I survived late stage of cancer and had to leave the investment firm where I was abused, humiliated, overloaded with work that 3 people should perform or at least 3 people and deprived of my basic human rights such as being heard.
I was explaining in details what was happening and why I had no choice but to leave. I had more than enough evidence that I was fired just in a very subtle way. Whenever I tried to bring what was going on to someone's attention at the firm, immediately abuse would increase. I was afraid that if I will not leave that place of employment something bad will happen to me as several times after the harassment my blood pressure increased, which can be very dangerous and at some point I passed out at home.
Every single day I was scared to come to work. I truly needed unemployment benefits so I can survive and not to lose my home and find a job, have money to go to the interviews and keep my health insurance. I was fighting for my human rights here and for the basic survival not for a fancy life style. Also, when I was looking for another position, every firm who was interested would suddenly disappear before even getting references.
I also know that I am blacklisted - I am a Sr Financial Analyst and in Arlington only there are hundreds of job openings every month for someone with my experience. I am in truly horrible situation now. Virginia Employment Commission did not provided a help that I deserved, they have absolutely no respect for people who had to battle such a horrible desease as cancer and they lie and cheat when asked to review the evidence. Can someone advise what can I do here? Where can I go?

I had file for partial benefits. And I was supposed to work the day I was schedule , but I had called out because I was sick with the flu & went to the ER , & I was to sick & tired to get a doctor excuse . So when they cut my days as well as my hours , I file for partial benefits they denied it . I file an appeal & I still didn't get anything , I didn't want to go to work to contaminated the food , or the customers to make them sick , it's like they don't care if you have bills to pay or care about the company policy . Something needs to be done with the Virginia Employment Commission Company .
