On September 9/17.14, my husband & I attended a seminar given by VIP Travel Solutions, and signed up for their membership. However, after discussing it further at home, we decided that it was not a good financial decision for us. On 9/20/14, I called the company about canceling the contract, and I was advised that my called, and all information would be referred to the "sales dept." & I would be contacted within 48-hrs. When I was NOT contacted, Icalled again and the phone number was disconnected.
To be on the safe side, I contacted American Express, the card I had used to charge the membership fee of $548.00....and was told the charge had not "come thru" & that it would be flagged to not pay it to the merchange. Again on 10/4 spoke to "Randy" at Amex....I was told the same thing....then the charge appeared on my next billing, so I called Amex AGAIN, 10/11/14, spoke to young man named Bryan, who ASSURED me that the transaction had been voided per my request.......NOTHING....NOTHING....NOTHING! The transaction did in fact go through, even after I was repeated disputing it since they had told me it would be processed....in fact, after one year of my documentation, I was also told by AMEX, they had tried to contact VIP, and the number was, in fact, disconnected!!!!
So, up date,:I received a letter from the Monterey Financial Services, Inc. 4095 Avenida De La Plata, Oceanside, Ca. 92056, advising me that they have been assigned my account for collection of Annual Dues of $299.00.. In looking over the contract, it plainly states that I have the right to cancel participation in their program within 5-business day, which I did, but no one returned my call; that I would be provided with "advanced notice & statement for upcoming renewal, which I have NEVER received ANY contact from this company since 9/17/14, and that it clearly stated they have the right to deny use of the membership, and that I would have to pay $299.00 for "REINSTATEMENT"!
