I thought I could trust a store with so many good reviews, but my dream wedding dress became a nightmare.The dress I ordered was based on the design of a dress that she had previously made, with changes in color. I sent her detailed measurements. We exchanged several messages and I gave directions about shape and fabric, which never seem to be a problem to her. After the final picture I approved, Sarah sent the dress a couple of weeks before the deadline.
When it arrived I was shocked. It had absolutely NOTHING to do with the picture. The shape of the skirt was completely changed, some of the FABRICS were changed, and the top was about 5 times bigger than my size.
First she claimed the dress was hanging in the pictures she sent, and it had a different flow in the body. She insisted on that nonsense even after I sent her a picture of the dress hanging in my room, compared to the super produced picture she sent me of it hanging on her studio: two completely different things.
About the fabrics, she said that when she started to sew the dress she noticed the lace I liked had holes on it, so she decided to replace it. And I still don’t know how come she felt comfortable to do it without even consulting me! She said that if she was given more time she would have looked for a lace that was exactly like the damaged one, which got me even more confused, because the dress was sent before the deadline and I was NEVER rushing her. The top remained unexplained. It was not a matter of minor adjustments, she REALLY messed up with my measurements, it was made for somebody else.
Also, the dress was terribly crooked and the quality of fabrics were VERY poor. She takes those pictures BEFORE sewing the clothes and it seems like she is a great photographer, but a very bad seamstress. Unfortunately, Etsy only allow pictures in 5 stars reviews, but well, I do have them if anybody wants to see. I got very confused about her good reviews here, but then I did a deep research online and several brides had the exact same problem with her. So I strongly encourage you to do the same BEFORE you order and take the risk, it can happen to you too.
Sarah said that she would fix the dress if I sent it back to her, but I would never trust her work again. She refunded me part of the payment and threatened me saying if I opened a case on etsy she would refund nothing. She even acted as if she was doing me a great favor. Two months before my wedding, I have no dress and I am $150 shorter on my funds. This store was the worst mistake that happened on my wedding plans and I would never wish this kind of stress to any bride to be.
