Village Green Apartments Reviews

  • Jan 10, 2021

I had moved into this complex in October of 2016. We decided on a short-term lease because we were looking for a house. Not desiring to rush into anything, we decided to renew our lease (after the short-term lease was up) because it was semi-tolerable to live here - minus the neighbor downstairs, who used to blast his stereo at 12 am.

It should also be noted: that one of the leasing agents that took us on tour... had said that our specific building had lead paint (as did many of the other older buildings) and each apartment had been supposedly gutted prior to renting. THUS- One would think that meant that it wouldn't take them TWO MONTHS to fix an apartment aside of us, if she was telling us the truth, but even their own maintenance men said that one needed to be gutted. So because the walls are paper thin, we heard CONSTANT banging/drilling etc, start time was anywhere from 8 am -10 am, finishing most times at 6:30 or 7 pm. This was everyday for months. Then evidently the guy downstairs moved out (right after that nonsense), so they had to redo that particular one (took less time)... but when they were in the bathroom ripping up tiles and leveling the floor, it sounded like they were going to sandblast right through. Please note that whomever tiles their floors doesn't know what they are doing. My own tiles I have had to re-do myself! I had spoken to the office & emailed on NUMEROUS occasions, they keep saying sorry, but yet they were the ones that flat out LIED TO US. Most renters would expect an apartment to take a week or so to renovate with the banging, drilling, etc done for the first 4 days (like this place said it takes). No, it took TWO MONTHS everyday for one connected to us, the guy downstairs it took 2 weeks, but then, the kicker was the ones IN FRONT of us moved out. THIS SHOULD TELL ANY POTENTIAL RENTERS that the turn around of renters is HIGH. I wonder why? Now, we are listening to them pretty much demolish another apartment directly connected to us, --we were told 4 days if banging. They are on their third week. Constant banging. Add to that --that another lower unit is being demolished near the laundry room, all this place is-IS A CONSTANT NOISY CONSTRUCTION ZONE. The walls are so thin, that you hear mostly anyone anyway. I had to go over my lease with the office...we went over all pages. I assume they didn't do it with the guy that moved in below, as he cooks on his grill still, so that you can smell like your own apartment is on fire-nightly. I guess they rent to people that do NOT care about FIRE CODE rules, and quite frankly, the management's follow through, means zero, because these individuals keep on doing it.

They hardly EVER vacuum the inside of our building (see pic) - they rather blow their money on landscapers every week, when they should care about the inside of the building too.

Beware of spiders, and some other sort of bugs that run rampant - even on 2nd and third floors. I probably kill 4-5 a day. Never seen a place like it, and I have rented for a while at another place.

Kids are playing basketball near your cars and HITTING THEM. Complained about that too, because there is an actual basketball court they could play in, yet again, the office is too busy collecting their jacked up rent, where new renters can get 200 less.

Are you worried about safety? Because between maintenance and the new tenants that either stick rocks at night or on the weekend to keep BOTH doors to the building open and maintenance who rolls up their on mat to use as a door prop- you will see any stranger walk in and out. Good luck here. They lie to get you in, and their prices are definitely not worth it. This place is old and the office staff us useless in my opinion.
