Vetpathdx, LLC. Reviews

  • Dec 1, 2016

We became clients of this veterinary animal health laboratory located in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois in December 2013. We signed a three year agreement in an effort to help out a startup venture with an ingratiating sales pitch.

We became concerned immediately because there was not a tester certified to read Coggins (ELISA) testing. In fact, we realized that our much of our lab work was simply being mailed off to the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine lab or other labs with highly jacked up pricing... This is something that anyone with a stamp and an envelope could have done.

This outfit appears to have some brick and mortar presence, whatever is actually being done at the site, I couldn't say. They do not answer the phone professionally. Instead, the calls seem to roll over to a cell phone that is often answered by the owner of the business, Ash Misra. His customer service skills are highly lacking and you never know what you will get on the phone when calling. Good mood? Bad mood? Angry Ash? Scary Ash? All of my employees who have attempted to deal with Ash or who have had the simple misfortune of picking up one of his calls has experienced any one of his many stages of rage. All of them are prepared to testify in court that Ash Misra's unpredictable, volatile and rude behavior upset each and every employee of our office who was stuck dealing with him. Some days he screamed, sometimes he was terse, aggressive... you just never knew what you were going to get.

In September 2016 we decided to take advantage of some specific tests offered by our original, professional veterinary laboratory Antech. This is a widely used entity in the veterinary field. When Ash's lab runner discovered a test intended for Antech, Ash Misra called screaming at our receptionist on numerous occassions. He refused to speak to the owner of the business about the reason we also used Antech. He blocked all calls and communication and refused to respond to any communication from the owner of the business. And, as unprofessional as it gets, he refused to provide us the results of our patient's tests even after we paid for them. He then hired a lawyer to sue our veterinary clinics to collect on what he claims we owe him for the remaining few months of the contract.

We have no choice but to use Antech after the tantrums, refusal to communicate with us, inability to resolve conflict on the part of Ash Misra and VetPathDx of Bensenville, IL. In my opinion, this service suffers from instability in client relations, lack of a certified tester for nearly three years for ELISA, mailing out our patient's testing rather than performing it in a standard way like an actual real veterinary laboratory, third party handling of our client's items with no real oversight that we felt we could personally trust, what we felt were skyrocketing prices even after we were under contract for what we considered locked in prices (this verbally expressed during the sales pitch) and obviously the miserable customer service experience.

It is very confusing to us also that while Ash Misra of VetPathDx of Bensenville, IL is so incredibly enraged that we needed to add an additional lab but even his investors told us that they use other labs, too. Apparently, he is simply looking to make an easy buck off this contract that is in question?

We did attempt to resolve our issues with Ash Misra and VetPathDx of Bensenville, Illinois on numerous occassions and he did not respond and says he is taking us to court. We asked to see a copy of the contract which he failed to produce after many requests and we have not verified that the paper he has come up with is a real, actual contract signed by anyone in our organization legitimately. He refuses to resolve the conflict in any way that doesn't involve his attorney and a financial settlement of $15-20K, far surpassing any amount of money we would have ever spent with VetPathDx in a limited period of time. And we can't spend anything since he refuses to see us. I feel duped, quite honestly, for agreeing to help him get his life going in small business. He really doesn't belong in the veterinary community in my opinion and he SHOULD be ashamed of himself for doing it to people who supported him all along.
