I just checked my debit card online and I have an unauthorized pay deduction for$43.80 from the Vesta Corporation in Oregon. I don't know if it is automatically set up to deduct my next phone bill from my debit card or not, but I don't recall giving out my debit card information for this transaction that took place. Can you please help me out and figure out what's going on? Id greatly appreciate it. I don't any more of my money taken from me with out my permission. I have bills to pay and I won't be able to pay them with the way this is working. Thank you.
This company has taken $49.33 from my checking account and I did not authorize this. This company is very dishonest and I will do everything I can to take action in this matter. I am going to contact our local authorities and file charges on this company and notify FBI since this is also done by computer.
Well I noticed about $80 missing from my account connected to my Chase Visa. It was for a charge by a company called "Vesta AT&T." I've never heard of these people before yesterday. I use Sprint. And I use my MasterCard to pay my Sprint bill. The lady at the bank discovered another charge for $40 for a month back for "Vesta T-Mobile." Again, no idea who that is. The manager at the bank attempted to call them and got no answer and every option she chose led to nothing, same as when I tried. It was just a recording and the options get you nowhere. It was determined by Chase within just 20 minutes this is a scam and that Vesta has been at it awhile and has a very bad rating with the BBB regardless of what they say. Straight up thieves. I recovered my money but it sure made things inconvenient for me for a day.
While my mom was in the hospital, I took over paying her bills. I noticed a charge from a "vesta AT&T" at the time she was hospitalized. When she returned home, I asked her about the charge, thinking it was a recurring charge for some bill. She was confused as to why it was on there so I called the number listed on her credit card statement. I waited for about 20 min on the phone. When I finally spoke to "Chris" he informed me it was for a "to go" phone and that my mom had agreed to pay quarterly to refill the phone. My mom said she never signed or agreed to anything nor gave them her credit card information. I kindly asked if they would credit her account and Chris replied, "I'm sorry I can't do that because your mom agreed to pay." Then I was not so kind. I explained that not only was she in the hospital but the phone had been gone for over a year. He said he could not help me so I asked to talk to his supervisor. She was worse. I told her I would dispute the charge with the credit card company and she replied, "that's your choice."
Anyway, our credit card company removed the charge. I did some research online and found out a lot of other people have been scammed. I need to call back the credit card company and not let them accept any more charges from these scammers!
