I am truly disappointed about the terrible service I received here last weekend. I came to get my car washed and it was quite busy. I got the basic wash for $16.99 and left my car there as it would take up to an hour to get it done. I left the keys in the ignition as the guy said and he was nice about it. I left for 45 minutes to walk around the Silverlake area. When I came back my car was sitting at the end of the car wash line completely dead and the manager Robert was attempting to jump my car with a guy's truck that worked at the taco stand next door.
I did not give the car wash permission to jump my car. The battery went dead for some strange reason. My car is in top condition and had a new battery put in 6 months ago and it never went out. They perhaps left the car running without turning it on fully after I left.
I was irrate and asked them what they did it it. Robert got defensive and said there is something mechanically wrong with my car, which is not true! He argued and said there is nothing they can do. The car would not turn over even after jumping it. I never gave them permission to do this. Jumping from car to car can cause further damage if the other car has problems.
They left moved the car off to the side after jumping it. I asked them not to touch it. Robert did not know what he was talking about and he said his guys know about cars and they do not. He said the fuse was blown, the starter was bad, and etc. It was the battery and I knew it. The car was completely dead until they tried to jump it and then it came on halfway, but the battery was drained.
I called my insurance Geico as I waited for 45 minutes to have ti towed all the way to my mechanic in Inglewood that I trust. I spoke to the cashier and nicely asked her for the owner's number to resolve this issue and have them pay for the damages to it. She was rude, cursed me and said it was my fault that the car has mechanical problems. I said the car does not have issues and never has and I asked how she knows that for sure. She interrupted me and still argued and did not care. She is assuming that it was my fault, when in face she was not present at the scene. She said the car wash is a corporation and would not give me info. She said talk to the manager Robert. I got nowhere with him either. They refused to help me, reason with me, and did not even apologize or offer to comp my wash. They even left grease stains on the hood where they tried jumping it. This experience was a nightmare.
I got to El Puma auto and they took care of me and put a new battery in it and it ran fine. I tried calling the car wash again to let them know of the cost, which was not that much and she hung up on me. I then looked these people up on the internet and they have tons of complaints and bad ratings for labor law violations, etc. The best things to do was to file a complaint with the better business bureau and strangely there is no listing for their company? I am filing this review to raise awareness about this popular, but infamous car wash.
