Auto Warranty Spammer/Scammers

Sends scam letters to people claiming their warranty is about to or has already expired. Uses language to scare you into calling them so they can sell you a COMPLETELY WORTHLESS WARRANTY! Uses multiple company names to try and hide true identity.

Vehicle Warranty Scam

I received letters everyday for the last two weeks, stating my warranty had expired. I got one last notice stating that if I didn't call by 9/9/16, I would be deleted from the system. I'm 23, my Nissan Versa is the first car I've had my name on, so out of being naive and nervous, I called. I was told because I was a full time student, I could get lower payments and a lower down payment. I got bounced around to 3 people. The last guy I talked with, I told him I needed to think about it, talk to my parents for advice, and I would call back. He told me I could not hang up, and I had to make a decision, otherwise the system would automatically decline me, if I hung up without putting down money. I insisted on talking to my parents, so he first belittled me for being 23 and having to ask advice from my folks still, and then told me I could conference my dad in. Long story short, choice words were said between him and my dad... And he became especially hateful when my dad pressed him about certain questions.

Auto Warranty Spammer/Scammers

Received a post card telling me to respond within 5 business days. Said it was my final notice. Factory Warranty on my 2003 Ford has expired or about to expire. Wanted to extend coverage. I tossed it.

Vehicle Service Department

I just called the number. I asked him all kinds of questions. As I was talking to him I was looking the company up on line. I didn't see anything good regarding this. I called him out on it and told him what I saw. He got hateful and hung up. There is no specific company name or address on the form. He didn't even list my vehicle on the form. It just says (Make: Chrysler * Dodge * Jeep). It says no specific amount as to what they are offering. I asked him where he got my info. He said it was public knowledge. I actually just put this car in my name. It didn't have a warranty on it to begin with. It is a major big scam. It also lists my vehicle as a 4x4.

I received a letter on 11-12-15 about my car and when I called them they told me that if I did not go through them and pay $200 I would loose my car. For one I did not put 100,000 miles on my car and when I say I don't want to do it don't argue with me. I spent 30 minutes arguing with this guy about how I did not want to do it and he didn't listen.

same situation

I received the same letter on the exact same day, and I haven't really called them or even planned to. I've searched for these kinds of mails online for a bit and think even if it's not a scam, it's not sth I would bother spend more money on. I just got my car from the Toyota dealer like three months ago and it's like a brand new car, I don't believe my warranty will expire this fast.

Vehicle Alert Notice----Warranty Scam phishing attempt via snail mail.

Within three weeks of purchasing a used vehicle from an Ohio CARMAX, we received a post card titled "Vehicle Alert Notice. This is your final notice. Your factory warranty has expired..." Some how this scam company new about the recent purchase and tied our name and residential address to the appropriate make and year of vehicle.

I did not bother to call the 800-248-9956 number based upon other comments found at this website.

They sent me a letter that was designed to look like it was from a government agency. Title was Vehicle Service Department, and "Immediate response to this notice required."

"Our records indicate that you have not contacted us to have your vehicle service contract updated." and on-and-on for a page full of this stuff.

Incidently, the car was from the year 2004 and was recently traded in on a new car. I did not make the requested phone call.

On May 6, 2016, I received a Pink letter urging an Immediate Response for my vehicle service. The letter goes on to indicate that I was ''selected'' ti receive a Special One-Time Offer that informed me that I needed to have my ''Vehicle Service Contract'' updated. It informed me that my warranty was about to expire.

''Due to the nature of luxury vehicles, by neglecting to obtain coverage you will be at risk of being financially liable for any and all high cost repairs...''

I decided to call them and I asked a number of questions before being bounced around. The questions I asked were related to if this was a warranty or a service contract. I got put on hold.

I asked what the exclusions were, I got put on hold, before being told there were ''practically no'' exclusions. When I pressed them, I was put on hold and then disconnected.

At one point, they were told me that they would be ''willing to cut a deal'' on the amount of money they wanted right then. They pressed me for my credit card repeatedly.

The letter lets me know that ''No other notices will be sent.

Over the last 3-4 years I have received countless phone call and paper notices in the mail from this company. I've told them to take me off their do not call list to no avail.

I also continue to get the notices in the mail. They keep telling me my factory warranty has expired and practically demand that I purchase their extended warranty.

The only phone number they have for me is my work number. It's very embarrassing knowing that everyone in the office can hear my conversation with them. I've screamed at them. I've hung up on them. I've told them I no longer own the car. I've politely told them I'm not interested. I've politely asked to be taken off their Do Not Call list. All to no avail.

iowa

Immediately after registering my car in a new state I received a note card and letter to the new name/address ONLY the DMV knew about - trying to make it look like I MUST call them in order to make sure my honda service contract MUST be updated….

so… either they hacked into the IA DMV or have a "friend" who's giving them the information… luckily, I never called and won't call… I will refuse any new letters/cards and never open them again…

IT IS A SCAM!!!

Vehicle Service Department

I have not bought a vehicle since 2002. Since my Durango was not listed as 'Honda, Toyota,Nissan' I laughed,as it has 230,000 miles on it also. I do not know what factory warranty they are talking about! It is definitely a scam!

Unbelievable

Like another reviewer said, it is unbelievable that in this country a company can operate that sends letters that are clearly meant to scare old people into buying something they don't need. The operators of this company should all be put in jail.

  • Jun 22, 2016

Is this a legal way to sell a service ???

I have received a lot of these letters during the last few years.

This people should be in jail for stealing money from honest workers.

This country should not allow this kind of behavior.

They should be in jail now!

I received many letters also and knew right away it was a scam. I had a 7 year warranty through the dealer I purchased my car from. Not only that, but the letter has no company name or return address. Definitely a red flag! At first, I would just throw these mailings away to only receive more in a few days. Finally I called the number listed on the paper and told the guy I spoke with that I knew it was a scam and to take me off their mailing list because they were not going to fool me. He wanted to argue with me. I told him if anymore mailings came to me I would write REFUSE on them and send them back, so he would be wasting his time. Then I hung up on him. What losers!!
