VANTIV is demanding a $9K payment for an early cancellation.

I own a small restaurant and have been using MERCURY as my CC processor for 5 years before they were taken over by VANTIV.

I had an archaic POS system and decided to switch to a new POS company. The new POS was not compatible with VANTIV processor.

My husband called to cancel the service and that is when the problem started.

During the phone call to make the cancellation, the rep NEVER said or notified us that there was an auto renewal contract or we had to make the cancellation in writing 30 days inadvance or that if we cancel that there would be an early termination fee...not one word. The Rep made the cancellation sooooooo easy.

Aweek later we got a call from the company saying we owe $9k for an early cancellation because we still had 18months left on our contract (which we have no idea of). He ssaid that it was an auto renewal every 3 years. Our original rep never told us this, not written or phone call or email of notification was given to us. Well, We told him we cant pay that and we wont.

He then proceded to tell us that they can take it down to $2,700 and call it a day...? We still cant afford it and we wont pay it. He then got mean. It seems like an extortion. We recently closed our bank account. We can barely getting by and they want to take from us what we dont have.

After we stop talking to him they sent a Collection Agency to harrass us. Now a law office from Chicago of all places is clling us. We dont know what to do.

Its outrageous that a company would be this dishonest and taking advantage of a small business like ours.

I'm doing my best to read and research of ways to help get us out of this. we may have to Close our business if we cant resolve this.

I contacted Vantiv back in September-October 2017 after my wife noticed and outrageous fee of like $175.00 for the month! I told them that I hadn't processed a credit card since May of 2017 and couldn't understand why they were charging me a fee? Especially a $175 fee I told them I wanted my money back and they said that they would put it in for review and try to get me refunded back to May of 2017. I never heard back from them until my wife noticed another charge of over $100! Remember I don't use this service and haven't since May, I told them to cancel and they never did and they are still STEALING my money!

I called again in November and told them to stop taking my money because it was coming to the time of the month when they were going to steal another payment! The women on the phone assured me that it wouldn't happen again and that she was going to put it in for another request to be refunded back to May. I never heard from them again. I decided that enough was enough and called them once again today 1/3/2018 after being put on hold for 26 minutes the agent told me that the request was denied! I flipped out on the guy and told him that I wanted to talk to his supervisor and that I would not except a decline! He once again put me on hold and I hung up!! I called right back and got a different agent and told him that I just lost over 1/2 of my life to the other agent and the he better not put me on hold! I told him that I wanted to speak to a supervisor now he said that he would have to put me on hold and I said no! He said that it was the only way to get to a supervisor I agreed and after him getting on the phone at least 5 different times to tell me that a supervisor wouldbe with me shortly I said forget it! At this point it had been 36 minutes! I told him that I was going to leave a negative review online and that someone better call me back!

I had been a Vantiv/Mercury processing customer for about 2 years and decided to switch processors due to multiple reasons. One of the driving factors was poor implementation originally, poor customer service and high fees. I cancelled the account in writing and they slap me with a $495 cancellation fee, a violation of the contract. They will not even speak to me about the dispute but sent T&C's that were not the same I signed stating that I didnt give 30 days notice to cancel. This is completely incorrect, they are frauds, terrible to work with and would never consider Vantiv again. Everyone should stop working with such a pathetic company and force them out of the business.
